-Heads Up: This is a historic building with poor insulation and very old windows. This unit will, unfortunately, get cold in the winter. We have space heaters in the closets, extra blankets, and electric baseboard & wall mounted heaters throughout the unit, but please note that on cold winter days the unit will get cold. Please be prepared!
Please note: if you are bringing an infant/children: there is not an elevator in this building meaning you will have to walk up or down stairs within the building. Also the OSV condos have baseboard heating: it is up to the guardian to make sure their child does not touch the baseboards as they can get burned.

From the second we parked our Jeep we knew we were in for a great stay. The apartment was so clean and very homey. The building was so unique. I wished all VRBO’s were this nice. Thank you for putting so much thought into making us have such a great stay in your vacation rental. We loved it.

We enjoyed the comfortable stay at Papa’s Place. It was very clean, modern, yet a touch of the historic, and we would highly recommend this place to future travelers.

Gaining access to this property was like Amazing Race/Survivor game and incredibly complicated. If we weren’t having so much fun already, this topped off our day.
Place was beautiful and we enjoyed our stay. My 17 son did NOT appreciate the fold out bed however. Tough night sleep.

We stayed in Leadville to hike Mt. Elbert and this property was a perfect location for us. The property was exactly as listed and the bed and couch were very comfortable. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed.

The check in process was very difficult. The lockbox was frozen shut and there wasn’t an overhead light.

This unit is nestled in an old turn-of-the-century building overlooking the historic town of Vail. It was quiet, cozy, clean, and had everything needed for a fantastic weekend getaway: warm electric fireplace, ROKU TV, kitchen with all needed cooking utensils and dinnerware, extra blankies, comfy bed, big fluffy towels, and lots of charm. The building still has much of its old architectural elements like high ceilings, creaky wood floors, beautiful wooden staircases, iron decorative fencing, stained glass entryway, and much more, giving it a quirky old-school connection to the past. We brought our EMF detector to see if any spirits were present. I'm happy to report that all is quiet in this wonderful historic location. Enjoy the mountains and local history in this lovely condo.

Very historic. The property was very well done. One could hear the upstairs room talking and walking around. Very quiet at night. Overall, very acceptable accommodations.

We wanted to climb a couple 14ers while in the area and this location was easily accessible to Mt. Elbert and Mt. Sherman and the downtown historic district. Communication with host was excellent. There was a distinct smell in the room that we couldn't ever figure out, but we didn't mention it. I'm sure if we had, they would have checked on it. Very accomodating hosts!

Unable to open windows so felt stuffy and could possibly be safety issue due to only one exit Could’ve used a fan. Toilet not secured to floor. Noted a cockroach in bathroom. FYI, may want to take photos when you arrive so aren’t falsely accused of damage to property

We love Leadville for the outdoors and the history, and this condo is historic too - located in what was once the Old St. Vincent's hospital (built 1901), it is a fascinating building. This quaint condo is older but comfie, management is helpful. Property is conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance of downtown, and grocery store. We have stayed here before, and would do so again.

We lived this unit. We ski cooper frequently and this was perfect for us. Bed was terrific, kitchen met all our needs and we enjoyed the peace and quiet. We will be back.

The location is wonderful and the property was better than expected. The unit was charming and comfortable. Instructions on check in and check out were very simple and all communication with the property hosts were timely. Thank you! I will definitely be staying there again!

The apartment itself is located on the ground floor with windows at ground level so that the floor is below ground level. I found the instructions from the management company unfriendly in tone but they were accurate and their response time is fast. Please note that you have to strip the beds and other chores which we did but found somewhat annoying given the cleaning fee charged. Overall I would give it a 3.5.

Check in/out was super easy. I put 4 stars on cleanliness only because we tried to use the oven and it started pouring smoke into the apartment and we couldn’t use it. I let them know it needed a cleaning & I’m sure they will take care of it. Would highly recommend this property when staying in Leadville.

Old wood floors, brick walls, wainscoated, very high ceilings with big vertical windows looking out onto the neighborhood and beyond to the high mountains. Looking at the old brick building from the outside reminds you of some 1930 movie set about ghosts, but inside is warm, well appointed, very friendly. Easy walks to Main Street shops, restaurants and coffee roasters. I played my guitar in City on the Hill Coffee shop when it was old and snowy outside. People in Leadville wonderful. Safeway nearby has great shopping. Walking the side streets of Leadville bundled up for the cold was a real highlight. Condo is good value, feels.Ike a small home.
