amazing place to stay

the accommodation was very clean and warm and welcoming

parking was free however it was a littlebir of a struggle with the buisness near by but it was still free

Made a tricky journey really enjoyable

Great to stay in this quiet cottage whilst visiting family. I so enjoyed staying here. Beautifully appointed and space to meet & chat with family.

The kitchen is lovely, I struggled a bit to get the hob going, but worked well when on.

Well worth the money and definitely returning

The annex was really homely but also spacious. The layout worked really well as each floor flowed nicely.

The parking. It would be okay if it was just the one property parking in the stones, but as there was two and it felt as though you were battling for the space. Parking was hard to find as it was all permit holders only

Great facilities in a central location.

Great location and we managed to get parked right outside the front door so can't complain at all! Loved the extras that were provided, we were asked preferences for milk and bread and additional things in accommodation such as small boxes of cereal, tea, coffee, jam, butter and toiletries which were great as we stayed for just one night.

The pull out bed was great for our teenager but the bed in the bedroom was small and I didn't find it very comfy, it felt smaller than a double so probably wouldn't suit two larger people but perhaps it's just me as we are used to a king size bed so don't let this put you off if you used to a double.

Fully equipped with everything u need. Hide little touches with milk and bread.

Lots of stairs, you have to be fit. Only had a small double so wasn't much room. We parked our car with the free space and couldn't move our car for vans blocking the exit till we left.

Very thoughtful, beautiful and comfortable base for Lake District

Very thoughtful place and beautifully appointed. All amenities, right down to coffee, tea, milk, bread, butter, soap etc. were all provided for. Lovely.

Pleasant

Lovely weekend, accommodation was great and we appreciated the kind gestures of milk, bread and tea. Situated well for visiting the Lake District, pubs and nearby shops.

Hosts upon arrival were pleasant however, when I left to get dinner in my casual clothes (black trainers and trackies, my hiking soft shell and a baseball cap), after clearly stereotyping, one of the owners aggressively knocked on the door and rudely accused me of being a drug dealer to my other half after explaining they’ve had problems in the past. We completely understand however, if they’d gone about the situation differently they’d find out I’m in the RAF and my partner is training to be in the Police. Both anti drugs. This put a downer on our trip as we felt permanently watched after that. After the incident when we would see the owners, there was no contact or speech just stares as we’d awkwardly park in the blocked lane. To reference a previous review the parking situation was quite frustrating (pictures to follow). Whilst we understand the roads were narrow and the owners aren’t in control of this, we’d have appreciated easier access to the allocated parking space. Through the weekend our access and exit would be blocked by a black work van parked in the lane, which they were aware of. All in all was a great trip and enjoyed ourselves however, wouldn’t recommend to the ages of 18-25 to avoid stereotyping. Bizarre.

Great place to stay, thanks for your efforts, we had a great time

Super clean, spacious for two, great attention to details which makes the property feel like home, good wifi speed. Nice central location too. Very modern inside.

It was in a quite part of the old town hidden away down a back street, but close enough for pubs or eateries. Lovely contemporary design and well thought out. One night not really enough to enjoy the area or cottage.

The cooking rings were abit tricky to master. But there was a microwave to help out.

we had a great time and would probably come back again!

Great base to explore the lake District. The place was very nice, well decorated and clean. The kitchen had everything to cook proper meals in and we even had some bread and milk and butter on arrival, which was really thoughtful.

The bed is really quite narrow for two (normal) people. The parking is dedicated and in front of the house but situated at the end of a very narrow street. While the space is technically large enough for two cars, when there was already another car parked, we found the spot too tricky to access and had to park elsewhere.
