Perfect location for a city trip.

Excellent location, easy check-in and supportive staff. The tube station Southwark is just around the corner and the stations Waterloo and London Bridge are not far away. Large choice of supermarkets just around the corner and a nice pub just opposite of the building.

The building (House B) does not seem to have an air condition or proper ventilation. This means that in summer can get really hot. Unfortunately, the windows cannot be opened really wide. However, we were provided with a fan upon request.

Sleep in the heat - if you can

Location, shops downstairs, fridge present.

Hot, room was extremely hot. No fan or aircond (though I read later that a fan is available from reception if requested) too late! My room had a 'funny' water noise in the wall, every 40-50 seconds.. The trains were very noisy.. and constant (next to an exchange or something) ...so you cant open the 9" slit window.

Location is perfect. Hotel have a gym and perfect rooftop.

Unfortunately room was extremely small. Toilet very small no space for big guys. This room doesn't have air conditioner and it was very hot. It was horrible. We didn't expect UK don't have conditioner in Hotel.

The location was great, the gym was adequate for a few days away and I was really impressed with the facilities on the top floor of B block!

The shower wasn’t great, it was cold for too long. The bed had a really flat matress on it that wasn’t very comfortable at all! The room got really hot due to no air on and a window that only opened slightly, thankfully there was also a fan.

Good place where to stay in London, but not in a hot summer!

The location was great for my needs; a few minutes walk from my workplace. Common areas - such as the rooftop - were very welcoming and friendly. Employees were kind and helped me with my requests, they provided me with the ventilator and the hairdryer despite not being included in the apartment.

I have been at Chapter South Bank Apartments in July and the temperature in the apartment was way too high. Apartments do not have air conditioning, despite common areas had AC, and everyone was complaining about the heat. I asked for a ventilator but the situation didn't improve, the windows were too little to allow fresh air to come in. Basically, you can expect to sweat 24/7 if you stay at Chapter South Bank Apartments during a heatwave.

Lack of air conditioning and rooms that trap heat make this property a major gamble in the summer.

The staff on site were terrific and did their best to make me comfortable.

My visit coincided with a heat wave in London. The flat got a full 12+ hours of direct sun and the heat gain made the room a sauna even with the blinds closed all day. There were just two small windows that tilted open a few inches so the room did not benefit even when temperatures dropped at night.

the bed mattress is basic. the layout of the room ~ the kitchen should be in entrance (and can get an extra seating) and the room should be in the back.

Clean, quiet, simple studio

Staff were extremely kind and accommodating. Location is excellent. Room was clean, spacious, with basic supplies for a few days.

It's student housing and the whole process is somewhat infantalizing-- it seems they haven't sorted out how to host adults. The reservation is nonrefundable, and yet they demanded quite a lot of detail via booking.com, including a selfie, my age, and info on from whence i was traveling and insisted that my reservation would not be confirmed until i had provided it. It was bad enough that i tried to cancel thinking it must be some sort of scam, but booking would not refund me. Once I was on site everything was fine, with smaller versions of the same issue e.g., the wifi is a complex sign-up process geared toward students. My room got direct sun all afternoon, and the tiny slatted window (again, secured against students dropping things out the window) offered almost no air flow, so it was often quite stuffy.
