Disorganized, dirty, unkempt, loud, uncomfortable and not worth the budget price

Cheapest hotel in Carlsbad

I showed up and the woman working was dealing with 3 flooding rooms. Only 2 of the 3 rooms I booked were available. I was supposed to get 2 double queen rooms and a king and all were supposed to be non smoking. I was given 2 double queens ( one smoking ) and a full or twin single room instead of a king. The rooms are run down, the shower / tub floor was all cracked. I’ve machine didn’t work. There was water dripping outside that began in the middle of the night and woke me up. The water got progressively stronger and sounded like a hose was running off the top floor onto the concrete outside my room from about 1:30 am to 6:30 am. The woman at the front desk was nice enough to say she’d give me a refund for the mix up in rooms. I have yet to be contacted or receive a refund.

I did not feel safe. At around 2am there was an argument between two guys and a lady and I believe even the police showed up.

A clean room , but check your bathroom sink to see if it's clogged.

I like that the place was clean with linen, towels, the room, the shower, and a bathtub. A flat screen TV, a dining table, and a refrigerator. There's free parking as well.

I didn't like that my bathroom sink was clogged in #209. I informed them about it the night I checked in and that morning. Nothing was done for the 2 days I stayed there. The ice 🧊 machine was out of order.

SWAT, samurai swords, lack of empathy

On the day of my checkout, I opened my door to see a SWAT team right outside my room pointing their rifles towards another room nearby. It turns out another guest had a samurai sword and a gun and was having issues. Sure, it wasn't the hotel's fault, but when I later even suggested that maybe I could stay an extra night if there was room, since I couldn't make it to my intended destination that day for obvious reasons, I was met with rude comments not only denying my request but suggesting that I had overstayed for not checking out on time and that I needed to leave as soon as possible. If this is the type of empathy and consideration shown to guests, then nothing further needs to be said.

Nice place.

It was very convenient.

We could not bring our two small dogs because 25 a day for each dog would have been too much. Had to ask for toilet tissue. There needs to be a mirror on the wall for those of us that don’t see very well or the counter is too hard to reach over.

The staff is kind and considerate of my being a disabled senior.

The room is clean and comfortable and I feel safe.

This was my first time staying in a room (#148) in the back of the motel. The room was clean but the parking lot outside of my room had a lot of trash and looked very bad. I never saw it like this before.

Hotel gave me one smoke in room when I requested 2 non-smoking rooms. They then told me there’s nothing they can do and told me to cancel it through booking.com. Ended up staying at motel 6 and booking.com has not helped one bit!

It was not the best hotel. Good enough location.

Ok location

The fire alarm kept going off at 2:00am in the morning. The good part was the front office was nice enough to give me another room to sleep in. It looked like mold in the shower.

This place is getting sued for fraud, I've been charged double and the staff has the audacity to laugh when I show them proof. Carlsbad PD is about to shut this place down.

I would rather pay a little more for sleep and intelligent staff who have a decent memory.

Cost & Location was great

Staff was very rude. There are no Do Not Disturb signs so Hospitality staff continue to unnecessarily wake you up early multiple times. Front Desk Staff was rude and antagonistic; continually asked for my ID despite having, multiple conversations with me numerous times throughout the same day.

Floor looked like it had been freshly mopped. In the past it didnt look like a mop had ever been used; just swept. The property looked a little cleaner. No trash laying around.

Not being able to ck in before 3pm without a $30.00 fee. Having to be out by 11am, you r onlyvrenting room for 20 hours.

House keeping team is great and friendly.

The staff at this hotel is not friendly, very rude, Suzan at the front desk. Hotel does not feel safe, a lot of late night noise and windows breaking! No security or control Dogs barking in the yard (big dogs) early morning and late night! One small bath towel! Can't even dry yourself! No amenities of any kind! All towels are dirty, many spots on them and old! Please go elsewhere and enjoy your stay in many ways!☹☹☹☹☹

It was adequate.

Good wifi, HBO on TV, hot shower, great staff, close to a number of restaurants and stores such as pharmacy, hardware, grocery store, etc.

Stay upstairs; wooden floors transmitted sound very effectively. No frills means no coffee, no shampoo, nothing that would encourage theft. Price was right but you get what you pay for.

I love the location, it did the job but was lacking in some areas

There was only one towel in the room upon arrival when I had mentioned two guests.

The parking was okay but was pouring and we had gotten in late. In we didn’t check out right at 11 they were going to charge per hour. There was no late check out accommodation considering we had gotten in late.

DO NOT STAY HERE. THE STAFF WAS HORRIBLE, THE BATHROOM CELING LEAKED AND THEY DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT IT. I WAS ALSO VERY ILL DUE TO COVID AND WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THEIR NEGLIGENCE.

Way better than I'd expected for such an unbeatable price!

My room was so clean!! The location is excellent, close to restaurants shops gas stations grocery stores freeways etc. I felt pretty safe there too, and the staff seem to look out for their guests as well. The staff are super friendly, so nice!

Parking isn't awesome- there are a bunch of patron-designated spots and a small parking lot out back (back lot seemed a little bit sketchy late at night!) both were full when I arrived at about 11pm. I parked at an adjacent fast food restaurant overnight. Amenities on website include hair dryer but there was no hair dryer, and the 'toiletries' was one of those tiny soaps, nothing else!
