***Ocean Debris & Sargassum Seaweed***
Beaches in Grand Cayman may also experience floating ocean debris and sargassum weed seasonally. Sargassum is a generally harmless floating seaweed that has increased in frequency in recent years. Should sargassum be extremely heavy behind your property, we will reach out to the owner for alternative solutions which may include a partial refund or relocation. We try our best to work around mother nature.

The property is in a perfect location and is beautiful! We used the kayaks and paddle boards daily on the bay. It’s a short walk to restaurants and beach. Definitely plan to return!

Property manager (lady assigned to us) didn’t communicate with me when I sent her a message about a fan not working or check on us at any point but other than that…
Great location, great place and well stocked. Everything else was a great experience! Would definitely stay again!! Fabulous trip and made incredible memories.

Great condo in arguably the nicest neighborhood on Grand Cayman. We basically had the pool to ourselves each time we went, at least twice per day. Kayaking in the backyard was amazing, especially at night. 2 minute walk to Rum Point beach, which we are a big fan of. 4-minute drive to Kaibo Yacht Club, a great spot for family dinners. Fishing and snorkeling charters will pick you up here too. 6 minute drive to Starfish Point beach, another quiet spot for swimming and snorkeling. If you are like us and enjoy some adventure on vacation, rather than sipping drinks by the pool all day, this is the way to go. Our 3 teenagers were never bored, we kept them moving the whole time. We will be back.

The villa was fantastic and exactly as pictured on line. Very well designed, comfortable and took full advantage of the truly beautiful setting. Silver Thatch Guest service was excellent and helpful. The on-island property manager was very responsive to almost all of the minor problems we encountered. Here were the small problems (followed by one big one): The air conditioner on the main floor could not be adjusted because of a dead battery in the controller (this was taken care of day one). The smoke alarm in the main stairway woke us up. It started making an alarm because air conditioning did not reach the stairwell so heat built up in the morning. We were unable to operate the ceiling fan in the stairwell to dissipate the heat because the battery was dead in the controller (this was never fixed). But we learned to keep the sliding glass door of the Juliette balcony open in the bedroom above to allow cool air into the stairwell. The shower in the master bedroom did not drain because of hair clogging the drain (fixed). The toilet in the master bedroom would not flush because the float in the tank was stuck (this was intermittent and was not sticking when the maintenance person visited, but started sticking again later). And here is the big problem: One of the kayaks had two holes in the outer hull. I did not notice this when I went kayaking. I got about to the middle of the lagoon behind the house and the kayak flooded and sank so I had to swim back to shore in a lagoon that is home to jellyfish. Fortunately I did not get stung, and I was able to swim the partially flooded kayak back to shore. The property manager said she would call the villa owner and remove the kayak, but it was still there when we left. I hope it has been removed because someone who is not a strong swimmer could get in a lot of trouble if they attempt to use it.
I know this sounds like a lot of issues, but they are outweighed by the really lovely villa and it's fantastic location near the amazing bio-luminescent bay, a beach for snorkeling, swimming, hanging out and dining and a lot of great places to visit on this quiet, down-to-earth side of the island.

Our family of 5 had a very nice stay at this property. Very clean and all the beach toys included. I very much appreciated the extras like life jackets, googles, sand toys and enough paper products and cleaning to get through our stay. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out and come together for a fun family trip. Being just steps away from the bay, pool & Rum Point we had plenty to keep us busy. A very comfortable location to relax and recharge.

We were a group of 4 friends including one twelve year old child. We enjoyed our stay at Kai Kotch very much. The house is very well equipped and it is in a great location—to get to the Rum Point and Starfish Point beaches as well as being on the Bioluminescent Bay for kayaking/paddleboarding both day and night. It is in a quieter part of the island which is perfect for relaxing. We highly recommend this space.

We returned to Rum point after several years and were very pleased with our condo rental. Walking distance to Rum point and close to Kaibo grill/starfish point. Amazingly fun with paddle boards and kayaks. Our family will definitely be back and highly recommend this rental. Property management answered quickly with any questions upon arrival.

Wonderful, relaxing getaway!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Kai Kotch! Beautiful location on the Bio Bay and had everything in the beach house we needed, including beach towels, kayaks, paddle boards, and more. Comfortable beds and well-equipped kitchen. Fans and A/C kept the house cool during our July visit. We enjoyed a day on Seven Mile Beach, great snorkeling with Ocean Frontiers on the East End, and delicious beachside meals at Kaibo. Looking forward to the reopening of Rum Point restaurant this fall (November, we heard). Great communication and resources provided by Silver Thatch property management team, including the complimentary snorkeling gear. Enjoyed the great service from McCurley's car rental. Took the ferry from Kaibo to Camana Bay on a rainy day, and it was a good way to avoid the long left-side drive. Can't wait to return!

Dream Holiday
We booked this spot for our wedding at Kaibo and it was perfect - from the layout, location, amenities and being fully stocked with everything we need it was great to have a full apartment for the value. Would highly recommend!

Serenity Now
We have stayed at this unit at least four times and look forward to returning in the very near future. Kai Kotch is super clean and comfortable. It has all the amenities you could need: pool, kayaks, paddle boards, paddle boat, bikes, grill. Our kids love the freedom they have to go off and explore on their own.

Relaxing Rum Point
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kai Kotch! The communication, property guide and suggestions from Tim on snorkeling and restaurants were spot on. Made it so easy for us to get into the house, navigate around Rum Point and the island and relax! The home had everything we needed and lots of space! We really liked the bikes and especially the kayaks and paddle boards ... used daily!
Advice and tips were spot on and gave us great ideas on where to snorkel and great restaurants like Tukka, Kaibo, and The Lighthouse.
Very quiet on the bay, but just a short walk to Rum Point and lots of amenities, beach, and water sports. Really enjoyed Starfish Point which is only a short bike ride away.
Highly recommend Kai Kotch for a relaxing family vacation!

Very nice property!
Everything about our stay was easy and there were no issues. Everything was clean and cozy. Very good experience.

Amazing location and home
The townhome came with everything you could want in a rental. While we watched other visitors pay for kayak rentals, tours to rumpoint, and snorkeling, it was all provided right outside of our door. We traveled all over the island and this is by far our favorite location.

Fantastic Location, Quiet Area of the Island, All the Amenities
We loved staying in the Rum Point area because it was the more quiet area of the island AND it still had all of the amenities: close to restaurants and good coffee shop, pool, nice bay area, walk to the beach. We were so thankful for the kayaks, bikes that came with the unit as this helped save us money so we didn't have to rent it. It would be nice if there was snorkel gear too. For this location I would highly suggest a rental vehicle so you can drive to all of the great offshore snorkel spots that are located about 30 to 45 minutes away. We truly enjoyed our stay and hope to be back in the future! Highly recommend!

Perfect location. House had everything you could want.
Our family of four enjoyed all of the amenities (kayaks, paddle boards, snorkel). The proximity to Rum Point and Kaibo was great. A very chill location, compared to Seven Mile Beach.

Quiet and convenient!
We thoroughly enjoyed having the lagoon right out the back door with plenty of sand for our toddler to play in! Rum point beach is just across the street, where you can eat, drink and snorkel. The beach there is also perfect for children. We would stay here again!!!

Excellent property, great destination
Well maintained property, Tim is a conscientious owner
Great destination - very close to Rum Point
Cayman is a beautiful island, and Rum Point/Northside is a chill and family friendly destination
This was one of those vacations where absolutely everything went well

Everything you need and then some
This was a great location for my family of 5. We made good use of the included kayaks, paddle boat and paddle boards on the bioluminescent bay. Accessibility to the ocean at Rum Point Club was a short stroll and the club's restaurant was very convenient for grabbing a burger while taking a break from snorkeling with the included snorkeling gear. Starfish point is about a mile away and easy to get to with the included bicycles. Kai Kotch itself was very clean, and short of the dryer breaking down, everything was well maintained. When we had a problem with the dryer, the service personnel quickly took our wet clothes and brought them back dry and folded in time for our departing flight. It was a fantastic vacation.

Great place to stay away from the crowds
Loved the location on the cove. Amenities such as the pool, kayacks, and paddle boards kept us entertained without going out. Several good restauants near by as well as Rum Point. Would stay there again.

Absolutely Perfect!
Kai Kotch was the perfect experience for my family (with kids aged 12, 7 & 4)! The location was spectacular - right on the amazing bioluminescent cove, where we enjoyed using the kayaks & paddleboards provided.....and right across the street from Rum Point beach. The unit was very well appointed, and was equipped with everything we needed....and then some! We literally only needed to bring clothes, sunscreen & groceries. There's a variety of sizes of snorkeling gear, sand toys, games & books/movies, a cooler, hammock, blender, hairdryer....I could go on & on. There were only a few other units occupied during our stay, so we even often had the pool to ourselves. A fantastic week for all, we would definitely come back!

Wonderful place for a family to vacation. Easy walk to Rum Point Beach. House was very clean with ample beach supplies for everyone. Thank you!

This property was PERFECT!
We had an AMAZING time on this trip! Staying out in Rum Point was perfect to experience everything Cayman has to offer without all of the crowds. We were able to easily get across the island for excursions and shopping as we chose. Our accommodations were amazing, coming with kayaks, paddle boards, bikes etc... it was by far one of the best vacations ever!! Thanks!

Lovely condo at the top of Bioluminescent Cove
We had a wonderful vacation on Rum Point, and loved our stay in this beautiful setting. The home was exactly as pictured and described. The second bedroom now has queen beds instead of double beds, which was great. Kitchen is outfitted quite well. Having stand up paddleboards AND kayaks available for our use was a huge plus. The owner, Tim, was super to work with and answered questions promptly. We loved being across the street from Rum Point Club and having several snorkel locations close by. Our only complaint is something no one can really help: our neighbors, who arrived the day after we did, had two very small children who were quite loud. The island houses are duplex units, that is, our unit shared a wall with another unit. This is a great location for children, and the two little boys next door were simply VERY excited at being there. The only way to avoid something like this would be to rent a single family home with neighboring homes not close by. Something to know, but overall not a dealbreaker for us at all. We would definitely stay here again and appreciate how nice Tim and his wife made our homebase for the week!

Kai Kotch Stay: April 2-9, 2016
Our vacation was a delight. The property was well maintained and, as advertised, well stocked. We used the bicycles, kayaks and snorkeling equipment. There are also two paddleboards, but we were unable to find the paddle. The kitchen also was well provisioned, and we were able to prepare a couple of meals a day without missing any of the kitchen amenities of home. We had a slight misunderstanding with the management company on our arrival time, but the owner stopped by to apologize and presented us with a chilled bottle of wine. Very considerate.
This was our first stay at Rum Point and we were not disappointed. We were looking for a quiet and relaxing break and Rum Point fit the bill. Every morning we kayaked about 45 minutes to Kai Kaibo for espresso and pastries and then paddled back. We were blessed with good weather and nice sunsets. We would recommend the property without reservation and hope to return in the future.

Great Family Christmas vacation in Cayman Kai
This was one of the best Christmas trips we have taken. When we arrived at Kai Kotch, we found a Christmas card and a welcome gift waiting for us. The house and location were great. We really enjoyed our neighbors in our little community. We met several at our pool... from Michigan....New York... Texas Turns out our neighbors from Texas... one was a Track Coach for the University of Texas... given my sister is a huge Longhorn fan, we had a great time with them.
The house....... beautiful and well equipped... it had most everything you could need . Most of our awake time was spent in the screened in porch just relaxing and listening to the wind blow through the trees. I was amazed on the only afternoon where the sky seemed to open up with a downpour and high winds, we stayed nice and dry in our favorite area.
We initially rented Kai Kotch for its proximity to Rum Point. It was nice to walk across the street for our two excursions and the night time walk out to the pier to see the young tarpon (some 4ft long) hanging around the lights, but it was a little too commercialized for us ( drinks were pricey too). The best use for this location was to load up the rolling cooler (provided at Kai Kotch :) ) and drive down the street to Star Fish point. there is a vacant lot you can park and walk the 100-200 meters to the point. it was great to mix with the various tours that ran in and out of there and enjoy the music, people watching, and enjoy your own self-brought bargain drinks! We ended up visiting several times during our trip... one of our favorite places . On the last visit, my son brought his hammock and tied it to two coconut tree on the beach..... talk about your Caribbean dream.
Though Cayman Kai is a ways out, we came to enjoy the piece and quiet and the slower way of life. I can see how people are attracted to move to this beautiful island.
As our children have gotten older (18 and 15), we have made the effort to switch from simply material gifts to more creating experiences that would last. This was one I feel we could continue to treasure and recall as years go by........

My wife and I spent 16 days at this great place. Left kicking and screaming. Could kayak, snorkel, and bike without getting in the car to drive any where. The place was more than expected. The screened in patio was a life saver in the evening when the bugs came out. The owner and management company were great to work this. Had a issue with the blender and coffee maker. The management company immediately took care of the problem. Got to meet and talk to the owners, great people to deal with. Perfect location. Great near by restaurants. Would eat out one night, cook the next. The unit had everything we needed. the unit was clean and everything in it was up scale. With a washer/ dryer don't need to bring a lot of clothes. First place we have stayed in that had so many beach towels. There was just the two of us, but the layout was great for two couples. Went to Seven Mile Beach to say we been there. Spent 15 minutes on it and left. Headed back to the peace and quit of the unit. Used the kayaks and bikes every day. Great add on. Rent a car. We rented from Andy's, would rent from them again. Got a flat tire one evening coming back from dinner. Was dark and about 6 miles from unit. Had to drive back on the flat tire. Ruined the tire and rim. Called Andy's next morning, they had a new car out to use in an hour. Trying to figure out how to fit a trip back here next year. Can't say enough good about the owners and unit.

Kai Kotch was everything we were hoping for in our Grand Cayman vacation. Our family of 4 (9 year old daughter and 6 year old son) loved the house and its location. Rum Point beach was about 75 yards from the house and the snorkeling was great. The kayaks that came with the unit practically paid for a free nights stay when compared against the available nightime kayak tours. Some recommended restaurants include Tukka towards the East End, Kurts Kitchen (non-traditional location on the way to Bowden Town but great local food) and Rackams in Georgetown.
Tim, the owner of Kai Koch, was a pleasure to work with. Very easy and accomodating. We had a slight issue with the coffee maker and it was addressed promptly. The overall management of the unit was outstanding.
We definately recommend Kai Kotch and look forward to coming back for snorkeling at Eden Rock and over the Wreck of the Cali.

For our return trip to Grand Cayman, we chose to stay in the Rum Point area to avoid Seven Mile Beach. Our "island house" Kai Kotch, was attractive, well-kept and super-conveniently located. We loved that we had use of kayaks to paddle over the bioluminescense in the lagoon right in our backyard! Two evenings out were high points for us and our 20-year-olds. We enjoyed morning bike rides around the neighborhood (two more bikes would have been nice). And we could stroll just across the street to Rum Point. The screened-in lanai is a perfect place to eat meals or play games. Our daughters also enjoyed the community pool, although it was mostly frequented by parents and young children. It was great just to relax, read a book and look out at the beautiful lagoon. We would definitely rent Kai Kotch if/when we return to Grand Cayman.

We were looking for a relaxing place to stay as a family with 3 teenagers. We rented a big car thinking in a week full of traveling and exploring. Finding this place so peaceful and beautiful, our children did not want to leave Rum Point and we stayed there the whole time, just swimming, snorkeling and enjoying every night the bioluminescence on the cove with the kayaks . My husband drove 3 minutes every morning to fish at the star fish beach, which we also loved. We booked a trip on a boat starting at Rum Point to see the stingray city just 13 minutes away. Highly recommend this as well.
The place was big enough to rest and enjoy our time as a family. The owner was very nice and helpful with all the information and details we needed. The house was equipped with lots of snorkeling gear, we had brought our own, but if you do not have one, you will find more than enough. The grocery store is 20 minutes away and it is very small. If you rent a car it is easier to stop at the big grocery store close to the airport and buy your food there. The restaurant at Rum Point is excellent but the prices are high for a big family to eat there every night. This was our best beach vacation ever and we hope to come back in the future.

This is a lovely place. We LOVED the cove and were steps away from the incredibly beautiful Rum Point beach. The snorkeling was exceptional though the current is very, very strong. The lanai is great for an afternoon of relaxation and everything we needed was there. Thank you Tim for the great vacation.

We stayed here with our two young children and were pleased with the house, as well as the proximity to Rum Point, where the kids loved to play. We also got to check out the bioluminesence on the lagoon a few nights in the kayaks and that was a new and memorable experience for all of us!
Thanks for a wonderful vacation!

This was our 2nd time at Cayman and we love this side of the Island. The house worked very well with three younger children (<11 yrs) and two adults. To have use of the kayaks and paddle boat was great. The lagoon is located right behind (100 yards) the house and can be seen from the screened lanai. Walking to the beach takes only a couple of minutes. The beach is beautifully located with various trees providing shade if you want. You can rent all kinds of fun stuff with Red Sail company and our kids had a blast every day at the beach.
Getting around the island is very easy from Rum Point: you could take the local bus, or use a rental car.
Thanks for sharing your house with us and we certainly hope to come back next year again.

Thank you SO MUCH for what I have described to my friends and customers as a perfect vacation! From beginning to end, everything so exceeded the norm that I can't find enough superlatives to do you guys justice!
The villa is extremely comfortable with space for both gathering and solitude. And the "toys" are great! All four kayaks and the paddle boat are high quality, the snorkeling gear is excellent and plentiful, and the indoor and outdoor games were thoughtfully chosen.
We loved the Rum Point area! There was plenty to do and we were close to amenities, but we felt like guests rather than tourists.
Robert at Cayman Kai Vacations was professional and very helpful, and we especially appreciated your checking in with us during our stay to make sure everything was just right. "Exceeds expectations" just sums up what a guest at Kai Kotch will experience!
A few recommendations for your stay:
My daughter did her dives at Ocean Frontiers and found them remarkable. It was an easy 30 minute (or less) drive and they were on schedule to the minute all 3 days.
We tried the newly reopened Rum Point Restaurant and it was great!
There is what I think might be a new Fosters mini-store, liquor store and bakery across from Morritts which gave us one stop shopping in a very easy and scenic 20 minute drive.
The Bodden Town Art Shop was a super place to shop for mementos and we were pleased that everything was made on the island.
And okay, it was already on the list but Roland's Garden was the best and most unique place we have ever eaten, and my daughter and her boyfriend are devoted DC foodies so that's saying a lot!

Loved your house! The set up worked well for us and looks great.
Location is wonderful very quiet and private, but a short walk across to beaches, water sports, and food. The cove at night is something I'll never forget. The bioluminescence is incredible and I'm thrilled we got to see it. The choice of boats at the house is great. I think we used all of them. Thank you for all the information you provided from our first contacts through our stay. If we return to Grand Cayman would love to use the house again. Thanks!

Had a very relaxing time. Accomodations were splendid, as were the temperature, and amenities. Georgetown, and 7 mile were a good distanc away, as were the huge crowds. (THANK-YOU). Beach is a short 2 min walk, and the clean conditions are 2nd to none. I'll be back soon.
