My family had an amazing time, great views, and great memories. We will definitely be returning.

The home was perfect for out group of 11. There is plenty of roon inside and out. The pond was used daily by the kids. The night sky was fantastic for star gazing.
Everything you could need was priovided by the host. There was plenty to do in the area and some members of the group took fid an overnight at Niagra Falls, as it was only a 3 hour drive away. I loved this property and definitly reccomend it to anyone looking to book a vacation in the area.

The house was perfect for our family weekend get-a-way! The views outside were just beautiful! Although the weather was rainy and cloudy most of the time, it didn’t stop the kids from fishing and paddle boating in the pond every day. We all had a great time and would definitely go back again and can only imagine how amazing it would be to see the stars on a clear night.

We booked in hopes of seeing the stars, but saw rain everyday. That did not spoil our stay we enjoyed the time together. The house was roomy and we had a great time bonding together and catching up with each other.

Nice quiet place with great night sky viewing. Salamanders in the pond were a bonus. In reality it is an old house that has been remodeled to maximize # of bedrooms. The interior is fine, not great, but the real reason to come here is the outdoors.

Overall good, clean, nice place to stay. Quiet and good for star gazing. Beware of large amount of fees when booking, all of which are not refundable.

We had a wonderful time at The Olde Homestead. It's in a great location for stargazing. We had 3 families on this trip with 6 total kids. They had the best time playing in the pond catching fish and salamanders. The adults loved hiking around and sitting by the fire listening to music and talking. The kitchen, dining room, and living room were the perfect size for our group of 12.
And no worries about forgetting anything, there's a Dollar General with everything you could need about 2 miles down the road.
One thing to note, if your GPS tells you to drive down a dirt road, you're on the wrong driveway! Turn around and take the road next to the Dollar General.

We booked this trip for the purpose of watching the peak weekend of the Perseid meteor shower & the view from the back yard was AMAZING!! We saw so many stars, meteors & the Milky Way. The property was perfect for families, the pond was a hit with the kids & parents, plenty of space for everyone. The house was clean & well maintained. I would have to agree with other reviews that while the kitchen itself is beautiful- the pots & pans & large bowls- things to cook for larger family groups are a little lacking. But there is a Dollar General really close & we made use of that. We had trouble getting the gas grill to heat up over 300 & ended up cooking our steaks over the fire pit on the grate that’s there which worked nicely, so that’s an option if you run into the same problem we did, just an FYI. The laundry room is fantastic, lots of hooks for towels. The porch offers amazing views, we saw deer everyday. The living room is very comfortable, plenty of room for everyone. It felt very secluded but wasn’t too far away from gas stations, a pizza place & some groceries if you do need things. We recommend staying here with your friends & family!

It was a great place to gather with family. It is an excellent location for seeing the stars. The home was perfect for doing puzzles, playing games, making s’mores by the pond or at the fire pit near the picnic table. The kitchen was easy to use.

We loved the pond, outdoor area, pool toys/kayak/paddleboat. There are also plenty of outdoor games, etc. The house itself is nice inside and comfortable.
We were disappointed that it was not a five bedroom house, but rather a four bedroom house that has a sectioned off area with a curtain. You had to pass through this "bedroom" to get into the other two bedrooms upstairs.

Great spot for 5 of us - individuals rooms, great common space inside and outside, had everything you'd need, really happy with the rental and would definitely consider booking again!

We had a wonderful stay. Loved the fire pit. Could use new kitchen pots and pans. Only one TV in the living room. Would be nice if there was a TV in each bedroom. We would definitely stay there again.

We had a great stay at this property! The house has its pros and cons, but overall we would definitely recommend.
Pros- The house has plenty of space, and the updates on the first floor are great. Beautiful kitchen, large dining table, comfortable living room. There are apple trees on the property that our kids loved to pick the apples from to eat and roast over the fire. The pond with paddle boat and canoe were a total hit for them and they spent time every day in the pond. The fire pit area is great and the view of the stars just from the house is incredible. You're only a short drive from Coudersport where there are cute restaurants and shops. The view from the porch and back yard are beautiful and great for taking photos.
Cons- There's some sort of pump that runs 24/7,uncovered with exposed mechanics that unsupervised children could easily hurt themselves if they wander over there and stick there hands in it. Its also very very loud and somewhat hinders the peaceful ambiance of the backyard. The photos for the listing show a woodstove that has since been removed. Split unit heaters have been installed downstairs but there is nothing upstairs. It was not very cold when we were there and it was still pretty chilly upstairs. In winter I would image it would be very VERY cold on the second floor. Also- the vents in the home are set up for woodstove heat. You can hear normal volume conversations from first floor to second through the vents- you're even able to see each other. Not sure if the woodstove was removed for insurance reasons or what else, but we were really looking forward to using that and sitting by the fire inside and knew nothing about it being removed before our stay. Only other complaint is that the grill is VERY small, and we spent a good hour clearing out the valves to get it working. Only one burner worked when we first started it up. If you plan to grill you might want to rethink it.
Overall, the house really is great and pros far outweigh the cons. We would recommend this home to anyone else that wants to stay in the area. Lots of things to do nearby- hiking, horseback riding, Cherry Springs State Park, or just relax on the property. It made for a lovely memorable stay with friends and family!

There was plenty of room for our 11 family members. Kids had a great time in the pond and searching for critters in the creek. Great location for day trips to Niagara Falls, Kinzua Bridge, Zippo, and PA Grand Canyon. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
