Enjoy comfortable accommodation in Gumnut, Kangaroo Valley. The ideal tiny house NSW retreat nestled in lush open fields, woodland, and a lot of kangaroos visible right at your doorstep— just 5km from the centre of Kangaroo Valley where tourists often gather. Nearby Hampden Bridge, Budderoo National Park, Belmore Falls, and Fitzroy Falls.
IMPORTANT NOTE: There will be some animal and tractor noise during your stay with us as we are a working farm that cares for animals and crops.
The Space:
Gumnut sits in a small town of New South Whales, a comfortable Kangaroo Valley accommodation with easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities.
A comfortable stay of approx 139 square feet with easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities including a flushed toilet, hand basin, and shower (gas heated for hot showers).
If you plan to spend your tiny house NSW retreats here, we advise that you bring your basic necessities such as food and water during your stay with us. Thank you!
Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the tiny house and its surrounding areas, including open paddocks and half of the farm. Please keep in mind, that the other half is a pastured egg farm, which guests are not allowed to enter.

Gumnut sits near Kangaroo Valley that's astonishingly known for its wildlife, rich rainforests, lovely country atmosphere, and exciting attractions. The ideal Kangaroo Valley accommodation in New South Wales, nearby stunning waterfalls, bushwalking trails, and more.

- Friendly Inn is a local pub that serves a delicious selection of food and an outdoor eating area
- The General Café is a popular cafe that opens for breakfast and lunch only
- Kangaroo Valley Bakery is best known for its legendary meat pies that are so filling, juicy and moist.
Sightseeing
- The Pioneer Museum is a lovely piece of Australian heritage
- Belmore Falls, and Fitzroy Falls are a few of the most stunning lookouts and waterfalls.
- Budderoo National Park has beautiful waterfalls, a boardwalk through a rainforest, and picnic areas.
- The Hampden Bridge is a fabulous historical part of Kangaroo Valley where you can enjoy nature's wonders.
- Morton National Park is a popular attraction that's famous for its beautiful bushwalking tracks around Kangaroo Valley.
Shopping
- The General Store is a lovely local grocery store with all your knick-knacks and basic needs.
Getting Around:
By car: 2 hrs from Sydney
5km from Kangaroo Valley township
Approx 30km to the Southern Highlands or the South Coast
By public transport: There is a daily bus that meets the train in Bowral or Bomaderry, but it stops 3km from the property.
Other Things to Note:
- No wifi
- No smoking allowed on property
- Free firewood is available for guests to use
- BBQ grill and Outdoor firepit is available for use
- Mobile reception is good for Telstra and Optus
- Unregistered guests or visitors are not allowed
- Please advise that we have 8 working dogs on the chicken farm
- Please take note to dispose of your trash properly, as we provide recycling bins for guests to use
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge
- Make sure to turn off the lights, air conditioning, and electronics, close windows, and lock doors when leaving the house
- Please also note that the pond behind the tiny home has not ever been accessible (it’s a a very shallow muddy pool full of reeds).
Important note:
- The egg farm is strictly off-limits to guests due to biosecurity
- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present on the property
- Keep in mind that BBQ grills and outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban
- In order to maintain the cleanliness, a minimum additional cleaning fee is applied for stays of 5 nights or more. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring a hygienic experience during your stay.

I was very happy in the house

Was an amazing first experience stayin in a tiny home! Definitely recommend staying there and are going to suggest it to friends and family! Not far from the small kangaroo valley town, and beautiful tourist destinations like all the waterfalls area too far of a drive too as well as the coastal towns of Kiama and gerringong!
