We stayed a week at the Black Hills Log Cabin. It is secluded and peaceful! We enjoyed the ping pong table upstairs and the king sized beds in each room! Plenty of deer and turkeys on the property and nearby.

We stayed at this amazing property for a week with two families of four fitting very comfortably. The location is ideal with close proximity to all the area has to offer, especially Custer State Park. We enjoyed the deer and turkey visitors almost daily! This spot is truly a gem.

Excellent choice for visiting the Black Hills. The home is spacious, it can easily fit two families, and it has quick access to all the great things the Black Hills have to offer. The gravel road that leads to the house is very well maintained, we had no trouble even under heavy rain. You never run out of things to do in this area and it felt great coming back to this house after a long hike. Double thumbs up!

Cabin was very nice. Great location in the Black Hills. Area was very private and quiet. Tip: cabin has a very good water filtration system so there is no need to buy bottled water.

Beautiful property in fairly remote location. Very peaceful and quiet with daily visits from fury friends including deer & bunnies. You will definitely wish you stayed longer.

The property kept 6 of us very happy! It was easy to navigate to all of the sights and yet gave us a peaceful location to make dinner and rest for the next days’ activities. Our kids were very entertained and the grandparents were at ease. Beautiful, clean cabin. Lots of wildlife in this area!

We had a wonderful stay at the cabin/lodge! The location was perfect for quick trips to site see. We did Rushmore, crazy horse, devils tower, badlands, Custer, wind cave. At the home we saw so many turkeys and deer. The grocery store in hermosa was perfect to get all of your needs and was super close. We played with the games the host provided and built puzzles. It was a wonderful vacation and home. Thank you for allowing us to stay here!

The house was perfect for our needs. It was very quiet and always nice to see the turkeys in the mornings.

While remote (as was explained in the description), the property was centrally located if you are visiting the Badlands, Mount Rushmore, or Custer Park. The pantry was partially stocked with non-perishables. The property was comfortable and, in addition to TV, provided corn hole, ping pong, beautiful sunrises and a morning/evening feeding frenzy for the turkeys and deer. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone.

It was a nice cabin, very comfortable. I had a question and received a very quick response. Outside of the cabin window, we saw; deer, turkeys and goats.

This place was amazing, cozy on the inside and surrounded by nature. Super nice. The downstairs had excellent access for my 95 year old mother. Level, smooth floors and wide walkways. Easy access bathroom and shower. It was perfect. Thanks!

This was the perfect place for exploring Black Hills, Rushmore and Custer National Parks. The cabin is off the beaten path, set among rolling fields and woods. The kitchen was stocked with cooking essentials and coffee and a stop at Pops Grocery in Hermosa can get you most of what you need. We enjoyed the selection of books, games and puzzles and eating outside at the picnic table. The cabin was clean, well maintained and the owners are very responsive to questions and concerns. Only a few minor complaints- the beautiful floors are very hard and cold so bring your slippers and the frying pans are in rough shape. Overall, a great place set in an idyllic landscape.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cabin. Spacious, clean, and visits from wildlife (usually in the morning) made this Cabin a wonderful base for our trip. Great location, and very close to Custer Park. Highly recommend this cabin.

Our family of 4 (our 2 kids are young adults) loved this cabin! We visited over the long Easter weekend. The wood craftsmanship detail is amazing and we loved the concrete floors. It's in a fabulous location (beautiful sunrises!) and easy to get to great hiking and all the key places to visit in the region: Custer State Park, Black Hills, Crazy Horse, Keystone, Hot Springs, even Spearfish was close enough. Our favorite was hiking Black Elk Peak on Easter Sunday. We wish we had more time and that our days weren't so full so we could enjoy the cabin more. We were out early and back late so we could hike and enjoy the beautiful outdoors. Highly recommend for your visit to the area.

We LOvED this cabin! We have four kids ages 6-13 and they loved the games, large tub, ping pong table and overall great space. My husband and I enjoyed the sunrise over the back hills in the mornings and evenings with our little family.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. There was plenty of room for our family of 7. We all enjoyed the ping pong table, bean bags and the deer and turkeys.

We really enjoyed staying in this deceptively large log home - - spotlessly clean, quiet and private, great forest views, comfortable beds, complete kitchen. And the ping pong table is great also. Loved seeing the local wildlife (deer, turkeys, hawks).

Our family of 4 really enjoyed the cabin. It had everything we needed. We enjoyed cooking most of our meals there. Played lots of ping pong! The location was beautiful and quiet. Pretty quick drive to lots of fun outdoor activities.

Better than we expected! Beautiful property for any season! We had 4 adults (grandma and grandpa included), two teenagers and a preteen, and the property had something for all! We will definitely stay here again!

We came to Custer on vacation for the Buffalo Roundup. The accommodations were very nice with a warm rustic feel. If we come back to the Black Hills we would not hesitate to rent this VRBO again.

Beautiful cabin, amazing star gazing and wildlife, not to far from popular sites is what you will find with this cabin. Enjoyed are stay.

This was our first trip to South Dakota and this beautiful log cabin was the perfect place to stay. It's close to everything and yet there is seclusion and privacy, and the only visitors were the deer, turkey and bunnies that came to enjoy the corn from the deer feeder. Charming. We loved the "drive home' from either direction through Ghost Canyon. It's a beautiful area! The layout of the house is beautiful, roomy and comfortable. We enjoyed the table tennis upstairs. Our Ghost Canyon Hideaway was absolutely perfect.

This is a beautifully built home, in a quiet area. The house itself was great, but did have a few hiccups. First, it’s not a quick (or easy) drive to any of the sites. It may be 12 miles to Rushmore, but took us almost 40 minutes to get there. It’s a slow drive to get to most attractions. Once we left the house for our adventures for the day, there was no going back until we were done due to the location & travel times. Lastly, I’d recommend getting more coffee mugs and cups! We had 5 adults/ 2 kids and ended up having to wash dishes daily due to the limited number of mugs/cups. And no one likes to do dishes when they’re on vacation! Outside of the required drive time, we enjoyed our stay. Response from the owner was quick & helpful, and the feeder on the property was a nice touch. The kids loved the turkeys! The house is comfortable and cozy, and has plenty of parking and turnaround space. I was also impressed with the amount of gems that the area has to offer. Absolutely worth the trip!

We didn't want to stay in a city place and this cabin was a short drive from Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore, Bear Country, and Rapid City. It is in a dirt road, but the road is well maintained and our mini-van didn't have any trouble. We saw a lot of deer, turkeys and pretty birds just outside our windows. The beds were comfortable, the house was spacious and the kitchen was well equipped (we cooked our dinner every night). The bean bag game and the ping pong table were a lot of fun too.

Beautiful place and great communication with owner! Clean & great location!

Things to see in the area are not close to each other. That said, this cabin was centrally located to everything we wanted to do and see. I can't imagine a better location. The cabin was clean and the owners had thought of everything to make our check-in and check-out process as easy as possible.

Excellent property with all the amenities for your stay. Great central location to hit Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park, the Badlands and all the surrounding area. Picturesque home in the forest with tons of deer and turkey sightings. Would highly recommend.
