About this house rental

A charming, detached holiday cottage in the rural Suffolk village of Saxtead, with a spacious enclosed garden, open fire and four well-proportioned bedrooms to comfortably sleep up to 7 guests. You can see the Grade II listed windmill from The Spinney and Saxtead is only a short drive from the market town of Framlingham with lots of independent shops, restaurants, pubs and famous ‘Castle on the Hill’.

Ground Floor
The entrance from the back garden into The Spinney takes you into the kitchen which flows through to the dining room, inner hall and round to the living room at the front of the property. There is a twin bedroom, king bedroom and shower room on the ground floor which may be suitable for those with restricted mobility.

Kitchen
A beautifully hand-crafted kitchen which offers everything you’ll need to prepare meals and picnics for fun days out. Appliances include an electric under counter oven with grill, a four ring ceramic hob with extractor over, a full size dishwasher and a free standing fridge freezer.

Dining Room
With views of the rear garden through the huge window, this bright room features a large dining table with space for everyone to enjoy long lazy lunches. If it’s chilly, in addition to the radiator there’s an electric flame effect fan heater and if anyone fancies a tinkle on the piano, please do so.

Living Room
This double aspect, spacious room is perfect for friends and family to enjoy the smart TV, play games and relax together. Guests are welcome to use the open fire in the cooler months. Please note, the sofas and chairs in this room are very comfortable but only temporary and will be replaced when the new ones arrive (delayed due to the pandemic).

Ground Floor King Bedroom
Located at the front of the cottage, this bedroom promises a peaceful night’s sleep in a king bed placed centrally between two bedside tables with lamps. There’s lots of storage in the built-in cupboards and the views are of the front garden.

Ground Floor Twin Bedroom
Perfect for children or adults, this bedroom offers two standard single 3’ beds and plenty of storage in the chest of drawers and wardrobe. The window looks out to the back garden.

Shower Room
A useful room providing facilities to the ground floor bedrooms. White modern suite with shower cubicle, wash basin and WC. The shower is a gravity fed Aqualisa shower and not a power shower.

First Floor
Carpeted stairs with bannister rise to the first floor with another king bedroom to the right, a family bathroom and a single bedroom at the end of the landing.

First Floor King Bedroom
A stylish bedroom in the eaves of the property with dormer window overlooking the rear garden. The room offers a white wooden king-sized bed between two side tables with lamps and a built in cupboard for storage. There are hooks on the back of the door with hangers.

Single Bedroom
Along the landing to the left of the stairs is the single bedroom with standard size 3’ single bed. Suitable for an adult or child if you like donkeys, this rear aspect facing room has storage in a chest of drawers and hangers on the back of the door.

Family Bathroom
With a classical styled bathroom with bath, wash basin and WC. There is restricted head height over the bath due to the eaves of the building.

Outside
Parking for at least two cars is available on the gravel drive beside the property. The garden gate leads through to the pretty, enclosed cottage garden with central apple tree, lots of seasonal plants and outside seating. There’s a charcoal BBQ to use if you wish.

Lovely bungalow, great for a family gathering, in very quiet location. Very close to Framlingham with a castle and half hour drive to coast and other attractions
