Very clean and tidy cottage, modern facilities, all amenities available (coffee, tea etc.), even women care products in the bathroom. Brian made us delicious brown bread, along with butter and milk, very kind! As well I forgot my jacket, and Caitríona has posted it back to us. Just the kindest hosts we’d stayed with, can’t recommend this place enough! It’s a lovely part of the world, wish we could have stayed longer!
I would only recommend this if many families with babies come to stay, baby chair (eg. Ikea antilop) and travel cot would have been a nice addition, but we managed just fine without it :)

Kitchen had all the items you have in your own kitchen.
Fast WiFi.
Good sized bedroom , no outside noise other than birds.
2 Top spec toilet and shower, plenty of hot water.
Home baked bread made for use.
Not a single thing.

The cottage was so charming and characterful infinitely nicer in real life. The property was beautiful with stunning views.

Heerlijke cottage, de allerhartelijkste hosts, prachtige omgeving. Een plek om naar terug te keren (al was het maar vanwege het zalige wheaten bread).

I loved the peace and quiet. The log burner added to the charm.
We were greeted by Caitriona and found that we originated from the same great county in Ireland "Mayo"..Everything about our stay was perfect.
The weather lol but the rain only made you appreciate just how cosy the cottage is.

This was one of the best accommodations whatsoever. The host was excellent, outstanding. The premises were clean, spacious, stylish; two bathrooms, washing machine, nice kitchen. The host has a garden both with a sea view, and a mountain view. It is actually kind of paradise. We and our children felt so good there.

The warm welcome from Catraoine and Brian. The homemade brown bread and gooseberry jam 😋 The eggs from the onsite chickens. The cottage, the real fire, the wet rooms, the view. The greenway walk into Carlingford, the live music in Carlingford. Will be back again 🤞
There was nothing to dislike except that we had to leave so soon

The welcome was the best welcome I've ever had somewhere like this! Freshly baked bread, homemade jam. The place was so so cozy, hosts great and so accommodating and gave great recommendations. Spectacular location. Cannot fault it.

Brian and Catriona were very friendly and helpful. They sent us messages in advance, ensuring we had all the needed information, and on arrival we were welcomed, and shown around the property. There were fresh eggs, home made jam, and home made bread. Very caring hosts. And two lovely cats.

We thoroughly enjoyed or stay at An Bothán. It's all in the name. A cosy cottage in beautiful surroundings. The place is a credit to the hosts Caitríona and Brian. A testament to Irish hospitality and generosity. Fresh homemade wheaten and blackberry jam for our arrival and fresh laid eggs for breakfast. Very close to Omeath and Carlingford. Couldn't recommend An Bothán enough. Maith thú Caitríona and Brian. 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪

It was an amazing experience , the Owners are very kind and welcoming people .

Warm, cosy and homely. Easy access and very spacious - pleasantly surprised for a little cottage. Had everything you could possibly need for a peaceful home away from home. So quiet but not too far from amenities etc. Will definitely be back again.
Loved the layout but only suggestion would be for more comfy seating in living area and perhaps a little coffee or side table.

Best nights sleep I had in years. So quiet.

Our host was super friendly and helpful and went the extra mile to make our stay really enjoyable, even bringing us extra champagne flutes and a basin to soak my poor tired feet!
The only suggestion I have is to put a mattress topper on the sofa bed...but everything else was perfect!

the location of the property is fabulous with amazing views over Carlingford lough. The fact that the cottage is an original famine village cottage. Katrina our host was amazing and all the little touches such as homemade bread and jam. big plus was no tv so people can just relax and enjoy the countryside. The owners live close by so if you need anything they are on hand
