About this house rental

The Wriggly Tin is situated in the beautiful valley of Millers Dale, a stunning area of Derbyshire, with the river Wye running through limestone hills. This quirky holiday home offers luxury accommodation, it was originally built in the mid 1800's along with the now disused railway, it has been meticulously rebuilt to a high standard and offers pure quality and comfort. The living accommodation is surprisingly spacious with vaulted ceilings, stone flagged and oak wood flooring all with underfloor heating, and there is an open log burning stove to warm you after cold winter walks. We have smart television, CD and DVD players and free wi-fi access. Outside there are beautifully maintained private gardens with patios and BBQ areas for you to relax in. We like to welcome all our guests with homemade flapjack and chocolate and we also supply some tea, coffee, sugar, fresh milk and fruit juice to refresh you after your journey.

From the moment we crossed the wooden bridge to the front door we loved everything about the Wriggly Tin, apart from the weather (in March). From the homemade flapjack, large chocolate bars and fresh flowers waiting on the long dining table in the light filled kitchen/diner/snug, to the views from the downstairs bedroom and the proximity to the cycle route on the Monsal Trail, we loved everything about the place. Karen was the perfect hostess and ensured we had everything for the perfect stay. Towels, bedding, salt, pepper, place mats, lots of crockery and cutlery, everything was there. We will definitely be returning to this fabulous place.

Wriggly Tin is an amazing property, situated in a fantastic location and looked after wonderfully by its owners. Deceptively large, easily accommodating 9 people and allowing 3 couples (+ kids) to interact but also allowing space to chill out separately. All facilities were luxury standard, modern, clean and fresh. It was truly a faultless stay, I cannot recommend Wriggly Tin enough. Would recommend cycling the Monsal Trial (literally across the road) and hiring bikes from Blackwell Mill Cycle hire just up the trail.

We spent an idyllic week at the Wriggly Tin in early July. It would be hard to find a more perfect place. The house is very spacious, with a wonderful large kitchen and dining room area with great views, a comfortable living room with a big-screen TV (free movies!), four bedrooms, and 4-1/2 baths. Everything is modern, immaculate, and decorated with real taste. Karen and Peter go out of their way to provide for their guests. This starts with the welcome package of a giant chocolate bar, home-made flapjacks, supplies of coffee and tea, milk in the refrigerator, and fresh flowers. There are extra washcloths, towels, and tissues in every room. The chairs, beds and sofas are all very comfortable. There's remarkable attention to detail everywhere; as a tiny example, there are easily accessible electrical outlets everywhere so one doesn't have to crawl under the furniture to plug things in. The Monsal Trail is literally across the road, with easy walking in both directions. There's a lot of beautiful scenery nearby, of course. Our favorite spot was Peveril Castle, which we visited on a perfect day, but Chatsworth is close, and Ashbourne and Bakewell are both fun to wander around. We've stayed in a fair number of self-catering places over the years. By a significant margin, the Wriggly Tin is the best we've encountered.
