Great location! Amazing views!
The staff was beyond friendly and extremely helpful!!
The hotel is older, but it was very clean and comfortable. Our kids had a blast...

We love the Hotel the staff was super nice disappointed their restaurant was not open due to a hurricane but it should be late November pool was very nice rooms need updating but we overlook that due to the view no elevator so be aware. We’ve stayed there many times an it’s our nostalgia that keeps us coming back. Others may not be as nice. It’s view is overlooking Charlotte Amalie Harbor, the town and Cruise ships.

We attempted to contact Expedia yesterday we were bit up by bedbugs and was told that they are unable to do anything about it

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon back in the beginning of July. Overall, we loved our stay here considering the hotel has beautiful views and was very clean. The staff when we checked in were friendly and helpful and I would love to say that we would recommend this hotel to others. However, on our last day there, my husband accidentally forgot to put on his wedding ring when we left that morning. Given we had just got married and were very aware of our rings, we both remember him setting it prominently on the nightstand. When we returned later that day, we noticed right away that it was gone. Since we did not want to jump to conclusions right away, we literally tore apart the room including our suitcases, purses, and the car to cover all the bases. We then tried going to the front desk to explain the situation to which the staff was very helpful and seemed concerned which we appreciated. They claimed they would do everything they could and started looking into it right away. My husband and I even asked if they knew who exactly cleaned our room and they said they did. We went on with the rest of our honeymoon hoping for the best but eventually had to go back home. The manager was kindly giving us updates, but once we got home and in the weeks following, we heard nothing back despite many ignored phone calls and emails. We are very said this happened to us given it was our honeymoon and we had been barely married a week, but we wanted everyone to be aware!

Got there a little early and since it was slow season i was able to check in a little earlier. Alise the front desk attendant was very sweet the whole stay there. From walking me to my room in the beginning makong sure my key worked to calling taxis for me and checking out. My room and view was AMAZING! Im here at the airport in tears because I didnt want to leave. The pool was nice and clean. Great view from that deck as well. The breakfast is your basic american breakfast. My only wish is that they switched it up on the weekends or something. Hotel is up on the mountains so if youre looking somewhere more commercialized i wouldnt recommend but great otherwise. I walled down twice to downtown which took me less than 20 minutes. All in all i would definitely come back and request the same room i had.

The staff was very nice and polite, however the breakfast which is included has the same food every day. The location is great and the view is beautiful. However, I wouldn’t stay here again as the hotel is very outdated.

If you looking for peace, quiet and breathtaking views, then you found it. That is what I wanted and I definitely got it. If you have your own car, then it becomes a bit more affordable. However, if traveling with more than one person, be aware that the taxi charges per person and per ride.If you are traveling with people above 13yrsold, you will be charged. Last but not least, If you are looking to party, and walk to places then this isn’t the place to stay.
Hands down, the staff was lovely. It didn’t matter who I spoke with about anything, literally. They were always polite, helpful and accommodating.

I had a very good experience with Orbitz. Unfortunately we stayed during hurricane ernesto but the staff were ready to assist us and provided us food delivery to our rooms. Thank you for all the help!

Firstly let me say I loved my room. I couldn't have ask for a better one. The staff was great always there to help us, friendly and polite. They went out of their way to accommodate my grand daughters needs. She doesn't eat meat they made food especially for her. The place was very clean. This hotel is very high up we would sit on the balcony and we could such beauty. Breakfast was included which was a plus. All I can say the place was great and so was the staff. It was clean the floors were ceramic which was a plus for me since I like being barefoot I couldn't do that in a hotel with carpet. They have a pool which my granddaughter loved. I can ramble on about the Mafolie Hotel. Loved it great place

(Stayed here during rolling blackouts on the island) Staff is friendly and helpful. Room was clean. Hotel is a bit off the beaten path but had a beautiful view of the waterfront from their restaurant. Speaking of, restaurant is solid. Menu is a little limited but entree choices are pretty good. Bar staff was friendly highlighted by April the bartender.
On the downside: room was a little rough around the edges; i reserved a bungalow on very short notice but because i needed to work they checked me in 2 hours prior to check-in time...but into a smaller, single room. Bathroom was small, shower stall uncomfortably so; bathroom door was a bit tattered, in-room fridge didnt work; and room lighting was a bit sparse.
All-in-all, i could stay there again as a solo (M, 53), but it wouldnt be at the top of my list.

Beautiful view of Charlotte Amalie from our room and in the restaurant. Nice Caribbean breezes. Staff friendly and helpful. Lots of stairs. Property can use some updating.
Overall, a pleasant stay.

First of all I can’t thanks enough to Elizabeth for the patient and kindness, touring us the property plus mapping out the whole island for my daughter and showings her all the activities. Plus surprising us with upgrading our room to the villa. Once I saw the room I truly didn’t want to leave and just want to hang out at the property and relax but we didn’t have much time and only spend the night and checked out early next morning. Elizabeth has went above and beyond arranging the snorkeling tour for our family as well. Which has made up for all the hassle that we went through prior arriving to the property.
To make it short. Don’t hesitate to book here, you wont be disappointed plus I think the hotel has the best view on the island. The only little thing that bother me was the sound of the crickets at night so bring your ear plugged otherwise it might be a little hard to fall asleep. Anyhow we are on the island so I thought that is normal here in Saint Thomas plus you will have a free wake up calls from the roosters at 6am 😃. Thanks again Elizabeth it’s you that made us feel welcomed and wanted to back again soon ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Great Hotel and Amazing Staff
3.0
The hotel had a great view and an area by the pool to enjoy the scenery. I wanted to like this hotel for my returning trips, as it's a nice looking property with different levels (and lots of steps), but the room fell short for my expectations. The bed was very uncomfortable and had an indentation from where people lay (worn out mattress). My room was over the restaurant and kitchen area so the noise level was high even after the restaurant closed and the staff were completed their closing tasks; things continued to go bang/clank up until around midnight. The room had a wine cooler/fridge and a microwave, a table with chairs but no place to plug in to work (outlet was dead). The bathroom was an interesting layout with an open shower, but no place to put toiletries and any shower items had to go on the shower floor. Room was clean and roomy enough. Air conditioner would only cool to about 78 even though it was preset at 65 (I was okay with that, but my wife likes it cooler at night). Maybe a different room in a quieter area would have made a difference.

This might seem like a small, ordinary hotel, however, it is anything but that. There’s a fabulous, outstanding view of Charlottee Amalie Harbor. One can also see it from the pool, as well. We saw two cruise ships. and sea airplanes taking off on the harbor. We were greeted by very nice receptionists. And had the opportunity to meet their professional chef, Shan, who is great and made the best Maui sandwiches…absolutely delicious. There are different levels and several steps to walk up and down. However, the property is unique, with lots of character. Definitely…a real Caribbean vibe. Ella, who is wonderful, our server and cook, for breakfast, makes the best coffee…I ever had… sorry Starbucks. She cooked us two scrambled eggs, three sausages, and toast, with a choice of bacon or sausage. All good. There is orange juice and cereal too. Oh yes, cannot forget how comfortable their beds are. Both of us slept well. Our room was clean.

View from almost anywhere on property is stunning and worth the price by itself. Food in resteraunt was excellent and again the view. Free breakfast was better than expected. Property is showing it's age a bit in small areas but room was nice and very clean. Be prepared for a lot of steps to climb depending on the room you get.

My experience at the Mafolie Hotel was fantastic. The restaurant boasts a stunning view that takes your breath away. The hotel is adorned with beautiful plants, perfect for capturing memorable photos. The pool area and deck are equipped with tables, chairs, and recliners ideal for unwinding, all while exuding charming Caribbean aesthetics.

The staff was very nice. The staff is awesome actually but that hotel needs to be shut down. Our television didn’t work and they said they didn’t understand why, the shower is for a little person, shower head is shoulder height and I’m only 5’1, and even though I wore shower shoes, the water didn’t drain and was over my feet. We had no power overnight and had to wait until someone came to work the next day to hit the breaker to turn it back on. The decorations and furniture has to be original from the 1950s. The view is the only good thing about this place and when my husband complained, that’s what the girl said, “but you’re paying for the view.” We only stayed one night until we could check into our resort. Never again.

The stay was nice, could use a bit of a refresh. The property is old but beautiful. The restaurant attached to the hotel doesn’t have a lot of food options, and very over priced for the quality of the food. Staff were very friendly and kind.
I would stay there again for the price but far from the beach and you need a taxi to get anywhere.

The view from the Mafolie is beautiful, the staff are super kind and helpful. The areas around like the pool and dinner are nice. A lot of it is outside so bugs and lizards are to be expected. Our room was clean and the view was just amazing. Though, this hotel is not walkable. Do not try to walk to it from town. The hike up the hill isn’t safe. (I’ve done it) there are no sidewalks it’s just all side of the road. though if you drive during your time here then it’s a perfect place. Parking is limited. It’s super close to everything if you drive or take a taxi.

Hotel sits high on a hill and has an amazing view of Charlotte Amalie and Yacht Haven Grande. The staff is exceptional. We only stayed one night as we were attending a wedding at Hull Bay so we didn’t get to fully utilize the facilities, but everything looked clean and well maintained.

This place has an incredible view of the island and ocean because it’s located at the top of a small mountain. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Loved the views from this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. Office staff was very helpful. Don't expect a 5 star experience with the accommodations, but it is good enough for the price offered. Very retro hotel.

All was ok until a huge cockroach climbed up the wall! Not what you want to see on your wedding night.
