I recently had the pleasure of staying at Rutland Hall Hotel, and it exceeded all expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm welcome from the staff, who made every effort to ensure a comfortable stay. The setting is absolutely stunning, with the hotel overlooking Rutland Water, offering beautiful views and plenty of serene, natural surroundings.
The rooms were immaculate and thoughtfully decorated, combining modern touches with classic comfort. One of the highlights was the hotel’s dining experience. The on-site restaurant offered a range of fresh, locally sourced options, and the meals were outstanding. Every dish was prepared with care, and the service was attentive yet unobtrusive. Breakfast was also a treat, with a variety of choices to suit all tastes.
Overall, Rutland Hall Hotel is a perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and natural beauty!

A lakeside hotel with views. Excellent breakfast and service. I was given a rear facing room in the Oakham annex.it saw small with little or no sound proofing (could hear the TV in the room across the hall )and a view of the wall at the opposite. It was clean and well appointed but I suspect warm in summer as no AC although a small fan is provided. Dinner in the restaurant was a bit of a walk up a couple of flights of stairs,no fun when raining. The food was ok but a challenge to find something within my meagre budget. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Very helpful and food is amazing gonna be a weekly stay for myself

The room was clean and adequate for our needs. The restaurant was extremely overpriced. The most disappointing aspect was the friendliness of the staff - we felt they were a bit aloof and not particularly warm towards their guests.

Great Stay at this superb location. Shame The Spa wan closed for refurbishment. Had dinner in the restaurant. Fab food and 5* service from Amy Brown who had a wide knowledge of fine wines from around the world.
Room was very big ( we did get an upgrade), looking out the lake. Very clean, ample tea, coffee & biscuits supplies in room. Bed supersize and super comfy.
Will definitely return and will highly recommend. Pool will be back open in Dec 2024.

Wonderful Hotel super views great room and sumptuous dinner.
Breakfast was a little disappointing after a great dinner only one chef running a full buffet style breakfast with overdone bacon and sausages dried out under the hot service lights I had to ask for fresh everything as there wasn’t eggs mushrooms tomatoes or fried bread

The hotel has a beautiful setting by Rutland Water .However our room and particularly the bed was very small .The restaurant was overpriced and with a very poor ambiance so we decided to eat in a very good Italian
restaurant in Oakham. The policy of putting down 50pound deposit was insulting so we certainly will not stay again

The hotel is good just didn’t have spa ang swimming pool at the minute ( under renovation) wasn’t aware of it when booked, so can’t refund

This hotel was stunning however the room i was in (517) was the nosiest room I’ve ever stayed in, the door goes constantly and the light turns on every five minutes. It kept me awake for two days straight.

The stay overall was really relaxing and as a first timer was reasonably priced for B & B. However, the evening meal at Blossoms I though was over priced for what you had on the place. Surely just a spoonful of veg ( peas) or a little extra tomato doesn't add too much to the main course. There was a lot of sauce/ cream on my dish. Nothing to soak it up with :- I had the Cod . I love veg but begrudge paying extra £6.00 for Sweet Potatoes, ect. £26 was more than enough to pay. We will stay again but NOT eat at Blossoms .

In our room the double bed was very small and the room was cluttered with unnecessary furniture making it feel hot and slightly claustrophobic. The fittings were new and the room was clean. Ok for a one night stop otherwise go for more expensive options. Breakfast average.

I loved the views and the setting, unfortunately on the day we arrived there was a huge wedding party going on. This meant no space to park in the reception car park. The alternative car park being a 10 minute walk away. It also meant that music was being played until midnight on a Sunday night. Not very good soundproofing from discos in the room!!
The safe in the room did not work, reported but not rectified. The towel rail in the bathroom was hanging off, reported but not rectified. The room was big and spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Not a four star hotel experience, would have been quieter staying in the local pub which kicks out at 10:30!

Wonderful
Just the room was very warm and the fan was not really adequate as you could not open the windows. Very small thing but would really improve the stay.

Having to drive to the restaurant as i have walking difficulties. Makes it feel disjointed. But excellent food.
And excellent accommodation. Would stay again definitely.

Very crowded reception area for checking in - two wedding parties arrived at the same time.
Our room overlooked the car park and we were kept awake until gone 2.00am by drunken guests arguing and shouting outside. Room only has single glazed windows so even if there are planning restriction secondary double glazing could be added. This would help a lot, especially as the fan light window didn't close properly.

Very nice property in an idyllic location but lacking in dining options and overall catering service

Service before arrival was brilliant, made an error with booking which was easily resolved.
Welcome upon arrival was a bit flat, very functional.
Booked double standard room, would have described as ‘cosy’. Very compact, nothing special. Just ok.
Made hotel aware booking was for a milestone wedding anniversary, wanted stay to be special. There was a postcard ‘congratulations’ and when attending the restaurant, they’d said if they’d known they’d have dressed our table up. I felt they could have made a little more effort with this.
Restaurant was the highlight of our stay. Staff were amazing. Despite no notice, they brought out token gesture table decorations- they tried and staff were very attentive. Food was amazing wine was great. Best meal we’ve had for a while. Be forewarned though, it is if the higher price bracket. Worth every penny.
Breakfast was ok, the usual cooked breakfast or continental affair.
Overall stay was ok.

The lodge was excellent.

The apartment was very clean, well maintained and comfortable. It was well equipped and warm. Grounds are beautifully kept. Stunning views across Rutland water.

Surprised this is 4 star. No bedside lights. When we were eating our evening meal there were crumbs on our bench seat. Spa not available. Parking near our accommodation limited. On the booking into the hotel there was a spelling mistake on the form. The staff and evening meal were both excellent.

Delightful place to stay on the edge of Rutland Water. Clean room well equipped. Restaurant food had a good choice and was well prepared. The only failing was a lukewarm espresso coffee which was changed immediately.

Great location and wonderful views

The hotel is built in several distinct blocks with many stairs between them. Not good for those with limited mobility.

We stayed for one night in between Christmas and new year. The room was lovely as per usual. Our only complaint this stay related to Blossoms restaurant and the front of house. We made our way up to the restaurant at around 7pm. We only wanted some bar snacks (chips or small plates.) only to be told they are fully booked and can’t also make bar food. For a 4 star hotel, I found this pretty poor. You should be able to cater for all guests regardless. Especially when your hotel is in the middle of no where leaving other eating alternatives non existent. We sat in the bar and had a few drinks. Neither the restaurant or bar was busy. Not sure what they call fully booked but there were countless empty tables, even the larger 4’s only had two people sat at it. The only big party was a birthday tucked away in a private dining area. Not exactly difficult to look after. We had to settle for eating some crisps and making our way back to the room. Breakfast the next morning was perfect. The hotel just seems to struggle with evening shifts for some reason. We prob won’t stay again after this experience. We would chose a place in Stamford so we can walk to an alternate dining facility.

Location is beautiful, our suite was well presented and spotlessly clean

Tiny dark room double bed, lumpy pillows. Food and drink over priced I had Pork belly which was chewy with a thick layer of unrenered fat on top and the dauphinoise potatoes and veg were raw the desert was vanilla cheesecake which had no taste, my husband had a cheeseboard with stale cheese. Poor selection of beers. Lovely location

We chose this hotel as we were a group of friends meeting up from various locations. The hotel is lovely and the waterside location stunning. We were given a private room for our group meal. No complaints that I was aware of. Very good breakfast. Plenty of choice from cereals to yoghurt and fruit and full English and pastries.
The hotel is the perfect spot for exploring Rutland Water and the local area.

The hotel was excellent, great food and drink, very clean room, high standard of hygiene and all the staff very friendly and helpful!
Beautiful views across Rutland water at different points of location.
There are a lot of steps in various parts of the grounds which you need to be careful on.
Overall, a lovely place to stay 😊👍

It’s an ok hotel. We thought we’d be staying in the stately home part, but we’re in a building behind which was a bit soulless. I don’t see how it can be called a spa hotel as the pool is like a leisure centre pool. We couldn’t get any treatments and no lake view as advertised when I booked. The staff are nice however and helpful and the breakfast was lovely and the room comfortable and clean.

it was different - a very nice setting. I thought the room a little dark even with the lighting on.

Website and reality very different. Better standard room in premier inn and dinner expensive and so overspiced. Jacuzzi non operational and all facilities in separate buildings so excellent for getting wet between activities

The grounds were very nice, not having a restaurant in the beautiful hotel is a minus. With all the lodges, The Blossoms restaurant feels a bit like Butlins, I think for people staying in the hotel without children it would be nice to have a separate restaurant, its not what we expected at all, car parking is very limited as well, which with all the grounds around Rutland more parking is needed. On the whole dissapointing, it just seems to be geared for the masses not couples.

Great location, a little tired, no air con and can be hot. Bizarre booking procedure to use the pool which is not intuitive. But rooms were otherwise nice, beautiful location and food was amazing

I felt truly aggrieved at the fact you take money for the room we booked. Whilst it was called a snug double, I have never experienced, even at a budget hotel, a room that was so uncomfortable. We feel it was daylight robbery, trading off the name of your venue. Nicely decorated and clean, but it was too small, the bed was truly the most uncomfortable bed that I have her slept in. I don't think it was even a double, probably due to the fact you wouldn't be able to fit one in such a room so small. The tv stood proud from the wall making the gap so narrow to get to the bathroom I caught myself on it in the night several times. There was no bedside table... the list goes on. You should not be allowed to sell this room. We booked it to do the Burghley horse trials as an exhibitor. Unfortunately your room severely hampered my ability to function properly over the four days due to lack of sleep from the dreadful bed, and left me feeling unwell with exhaustion. I would never stay at your hotel again and would advise other people not to pay good money, so undeserved. We stay in a lot of hotels on business and have never experienced such an uncomfortable stay. The very least you should be able to offer is a good nights sleep.

I've stayed here a few times the renovation to the restaurant is nice, however i didnt have the best experience this time around which is ashame as pass this place frequently, however im glad i dont stay here when im local.
Firstly i couldnt fully stand up in the bath as the roof slopped so having a shower was rather annoying (to put it in context im 5,9" so not exactly tall), the room was the smallest i've been in and it certainly wasnt cheap..
What really really annoyed me was when i got to the restaurant a waitress told me they are full and they couldn't serve me food at all.... and that she recommended "justeat" app for food!! When your a resident and pay these prices you expect to be able to dine in the restaurant. Its just basics..
There was no apology or anything i had to eat my takeaway an hour and a half later in my room which left me feeling rather disappointed in the place.
Also the aircon didnt seem to work as i had to pull the tall plug in one thats in the cupboard out as it was a really warm night.
Im not a picky person but the above did rather annoy me.
I stayed in room 450 and previously for the same price got a room twice the size.
Ps before you book request a room on the front as the rooms on the back dont have very good views.

The twin room allocated was very dark and airless. Couldnt get reading lights to work. Bedside lights could only be on or off at the same time. Bright light on all night outside window, so blackout curtains had to be drawn, not helping air circulation. Fan allocated, was clogged up with dust.
Generally, whole site was good. Very good breakfast. Swimming and gym booking system difficult to manage, but hood there are different sessions available.
Decor quite dated and 'soulless' in room and Blosdoms restaurant.
Site position excellent. Amazing views and lovely grounds and facilities (eg, pitch and putt, crazy golf).
Staff friendly and accommodating.
Will return at some point. Excellent position for catching up with family in Stamford.
Will book a room or apartment with a balcony next time.

We especially liked the view from the verandah in room 325

A superb venue for a couple who want a nice romantic break. There was some building work going on that disrupted the parking somewhat, but once we worked out where to go, there was plenty of space. Loved the balcony and views over the beautiful lake.

Stayed for a night - great location with great views over the water. Nice pool. Staff are great. Double room was very cosy. Not a major issue however food started to run out at breakfast buffet.
