what the property needs in updates is more than made up for by the amazing staff: Elise, Ranjan, Nicola, Steph (and more whose names I didn't get)

We only stayed 1 night for a wedding but should've have booked for longer. The staff are friendly, the grounds, hotel and rooms are stunning. Very clean, the bed was enormous.

We went for a friends wedding and the stay we great

Room was big but dated, with a nice view of the gardens. Gardens looked nice but we found the paths to be poorly maintained and lacking TLC. Our main issue with the hotel was the heating, they obviously have major issues as they seemed to be using external temporary boilers. Our room was always cold and we did not have hot water when we were getting ready for dinner, during the night the heat really dropped to the point of being uncomfortable.

Elise on reception was the highlight upon our arrival. Very personable and helpful. Room was poor standard, no lighting in main area other than one lamp by the bed and one on dressing table. Altogether dingy. Pillows in particular did not smell fresh, disgusting. Bathroom shabby with rusted light fitments and stains on door. Definitely would not recommend.

Not a great stay bed wasn’t made properly so I had to make the bed we had stains in the bedding and on the carpet which were visible we ordered food that night and the service was shocking they got our order wrong and when it came out my order was still wrong and my partners fish was mostly batter soils not stay here again

I love this hotel, the location is perfect for my needs and the facilities are great.
I appreciate that they continually update their rooms and are happy to have constructive feedback.

the staff are friendly with a very professional manner , a clear run down of the protocol regarding parking and dining times from the reception was most helpful. A very reasonable priced room complimented by the ground floor bar , great location for access into and around the city. I will definitely stay and recommend to friends and family.

Lovely hotel, 25 mins walk into the centre. Buffet breakfast was nice. Gym facilities were ok - opens at 7am & spa at 8am.
Rooms look a little tired & could benefit from a refresh, but they were clean. Lighting in room awful for doing hair & makeup!

As always a most enjoyable stay, we look forward to visiting you again in the new year.

Bathroom had a few issues, rust and toilet flush not properly connected.
Food was good in the morning, full range of cooked and continental breakfasts.
Bed very comfortable

We really enjoyed our stay at Kenwood Hall. It was the perfect location for exploring Sheffield and the Peak District, with the added bonus that it is dog friendly too! A special mention for Hollie working in the cafe/restaurant area, who was very helpful and friendly!
5.0
Lovely friendly staff.
Our room was very spacious and the bed was very comfortable.
Dinner in the hotel was excellent. We plumped for simple fish and chips. The portion was huge, the fish was fresh, the batter crispy and the chips were 'proper good'!
3.0
The hotel looked really nice from the outside and the lobby was luxurious and spacious. The room too was spacious and the beds comfortable. However there was mould in the bathroom and the paint peeling from the ceiling. There was also no cold water coming from the bath tap resulting in very hot water pouring from the shower head. When we mentioned this on checkout (we only stayed one night) the receptionist apologised but did not seek redress. Left feeling disappointed

Lovely stay in Nether Edge, quiet streets around the hotel.
3.0
Great location and beautiful grounds. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Lisa on reception was a stand-out in terms of excellent customer service. The room however was poorly maintained and had a constant heat coming from the radiator pipes even though the valve was closed. The bathroom had hairs post-cleaning on the toilet and bath and the maintenance standards were poor with bare wood patched into the door way and cheap mis-matched make-do tiles to replace broken ones.

Really relaxing 2 night break in great location on outskirts of Sheffield. Great service, free parking, free leisure facilities and nice grounds. Will definitely be back.
8.0
The hotel and grounds are well kept and beautiful. The room was immaculately clean however the bath could do with being changed and a non slip bath mat as the bath was very slippery when having a shower. Slight issues with the expected room and late check out however overall it is such a beautiful hotel and setting.

Spa area could do with updating

Sadly our stay at the Mercure at Kenwood Hall was extremely disappointing.
To start with I do have to say the staff were very polite & helpful so that was a positive.
Sadly the rooms were really tired & in need of some much needed investment.

Absolutely Amazing, suites are so quite and spacious. The pool area is lovely and clean.

Restaurant limited choice and overpriced.

Lovely setting but a bit tired. Restaurant food was overpriced and not the best quality. Had to send steak back and replacement was not much better

Really helpful and friendly staff ensured we had rooms close by as a family and went out of their way to sort this for us.
The hotel is on beautiful grounds as well.

Really pleasant welcome from receptionist starting the stay in great mood. Large clean room in very large old house. Good common facilities and best of all short walk from lively Eccleshall road area.

Lovely hotel overall and excellent location near to food places and supermarkets.
Friendly Staff (Lady at reception who claimed to be manager) apart from 1 who was very blunt and robotic hence why i gave 4 stars because of her. All other staff were FANTASTIC! Hotel was nice too but room needed a few bits which needed maintenance... i.e. toilet not flushing properly, window handles about to fall off, room phone not connected, cupboard door very delicate and not running smoothly when trying to open.

Excellent location, Surroundings, staff very good. Just lacking a bit of quality on the decor and spa area. But that of course would ramp up the price. So for the money paid. Excellent value.

Felt that the room & spa facilities could have done with a bit of an update. Definitely needed a better fan for the room as it was roasting!

This hotel is in a good location when we are visiting family. The grounds are very nice and quiet. We had a great room on this stay, but it was almost unbearably hot both in the room and on the corridor leading to the room. It definitely needs air conditioning!

Lovely hotel with stunning grounds around it and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Our 2 day stay was okay.
Upon checkout we were upgraded to a 'Privilege' room.
The hotel was hot, but it was 30°C outside, the hallways for the rooms were even hotter we noticed one radiator was turned on.
The room was large with fridge containing Water Still/sparkling, pepsi, pepsi max (one of each drink) tea/Coffee making facilities. (not refreshed for 2nd day though)
Television which couldn't really get a decent signal.
Two chairs and a table.
Two windows which tilt open slightly, no air conditioning, the bed was made with sheets, duvet was in the wardrobe there was also a fan in there.
We had the fan on at night and windows open, the room was quiet and shaded by trees.
the bathroom has a bath shower with a fixed head and one not, the water pressure was okay, shower screen leaked onto the floor due to the bad design/fitment.
The sink has high pressure very hot water!
The general condition of the room is tired dated and in need of a refit, the same goes for most of the hotel.
The weather cooled down over our stay but the hallways were still very warm with a radiator still on.
It needs air conditioning or at least some ventilation.
The grounds are nice with a fishing pond/lake you can walk around or sit next to, there is seating outside on a patio area. We were told the bar is 24/7, we noticed the bar was closed in the am we stayed.
Breakfast is okay, self service continental also cooked sausages, eggs, bacon, mushrooms, hash-browns etc,
the 'orange juice' is embarrassing.

Not a 4 star hotel, room was tired & a bit battered. Room lacked any paperwork/information at all re hotel timings & fire precautions. TV didn’t work initially but someone came to sort that quickly. Paint covering original bath was chipping off. No fridge facility. Bar staff & cleaning staff were very polite & helpful, reception staff were adequate but not effusive. On the up side I loved the huge bath towels!

Staff, facilities and location all great.

A lovely sunny day to spend at the hotel. Lovely outside space. We booked a room with two double beds, and although it was quite far from reception, it was lovely. Not the best shower though. Have stayed before, and will definitely stay again.
4.0
This hotel is in spacious grounds and you wouldn't think you were near the centre of a major city. It is just about worthy of its 4 Star rating. Only stayed for one night so limited experience of facilities. Staff were helpful especially in the restaurant but we found the restaurant a bit claustrophobic - small and no external windows, and a somewhat limited menu for a 4* hotel. . The Spa was OK. The 'Privilege' room was of a generous size and well appointed but the view of close-by trees made the room a bit dark. We were puzzled as to why there was only one armchair in a double room as there was plenty of space for two and also the lack of information in the room about the hotel . Only one small gripe - the marmalade dispenser was empty but when we advised the staff nothing was done during the whole duration of breakfast. Small issue but annoying.

We booked a room with a nice view and got a view of a stingy nettle bush! When the window was open there was an awful sewer type smell coming in (absolutely fuming!) Raised it at reception to be told to bring it up with the morning receptionist! The beds were crazy uncomfortable and the bath was yellow.
