The hotel is quite under staff. Only 1 staff at the reception whom needs to attend to most enquiries including request for eg. Kettle in the room and extra towers etc.

This is my second stay here and everything was fine. However housekeeping did not clean our room so we returned to hotel on 2nd night with beds not made, towels not replaced etc.. we told the front desk in morning who said they would look into it but we were now checking out. Apart from themissed housekeeping, everything was fine.

Good hotel located about 10 minutes away by car from the centre of Haarlem. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very good air conditioning in the rooms which was a big bonus as I stayed during a very hot weekend. Nice breakfast which you can have on a terrace outside if you like.

This hotel is always clean, rooms are comfortable and there’s enough desk space if your need to work. Staff are all approachable and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Whenever I come to Haarlem the Bastion is always my first choice. Also the Hotel manager has a can do attitude and no problem is to big well done!

The hotel is no frills. The rooms are perfectly adequate. Very clean. Good Toilet & shower en suite . Comfortable beds. The Air con is a bonus. Proper coffee making facilities.We ate in the hotel. The menu is small but the food is good and not expensive. Excellent breakfasts.We use this hotel when going to Zandvoort racing circuit. The car park will accommodate a car an trailer without a problem.Will use again:)

I have no idea why I found it in chapter "Hotels of Amsterdam" if this city in half of hour away from the capital. Room were not so good but clean. Bathroom are not comfortable at all. Climate control in rooms automatically decreased temperature to 21 after 30 minutes so it was really cold (weather +8 outside and rain) and I get sick because of it. One more thing : we couldn't lock our door in room and it was possible just with opened window. Staff just says "we can't do anything with this". So room on the 1st floor stays with opened window all the time when we were out. I wanted to move from the hotel but it was impossible to get back money from the next day of reservation.

The property was conveniently located, the staff was friendly, and I was given an upgraded room. The bar/restraint area smelled like cigarette smoke and although my room was non smoking other guests were smoking in the hallways and rooms which caused my room to smell like smoke as well.. I would stay here again for sure because of the staff and convenience but would prefer not to have to deal with the smoke issues.

Everything good for the money and quieter location, but the one big downer was that the bed linen was too narrow even for single beds, so couldn't be tucked round the mattress & was just flopping about & not at all good to sleep on.

This wasn’t the location I had booked but that was not down to the hotel it was this site so I wanted to be right in Amsterdam and was given this one that is 11 miles away but it’s a good job it’s easy to get around but hotel was nice beds was amazing

The rooms were clean but the hallways needed a hoover. It has a lift to all floors. Breakfast good. We used the restaurant once. Quite limited at the weekend but very acceptable. Has a couple of UK channels on the TV. It could do with black out curtains. Very convenient for Zandvoort race circuit. I would use again :)
