The view of the bay from our suite was amazing! The decor was so tasteful, and perfect vintage Cape Cod. The bed was very comfy and shower was great, and so was WiFi.

Terrible. Management only communicates by text, which they never answer. Checking in was a challenge as the person went missing. Room was musty smelling, bed was very old and dented in the middle - very uncomfortable. Reading material was from the 1980's. The morning we woke up there was no water. No word from management. We checked out asking for a refund. Got Hotels.com involved they were of no help. Trying to get a refund through AMEX as I would say that no service was rendered considering no water. It's a shame as the property has a spectacular view.

It was a fantastic experience. Highly recommend.

I feel privileged to be able to have a night out with my best friend to celebrate our birthdays in such a wonderful area. This place was perfect. It was beautiful and our room had a giant picture window with the most amazing view of the Wood End lighthouse. The only thing that caught me off guard was the parking. Had I known, I would have planned better (I thought I was all set but had to reserve a spot for $30 a night - and there were none left at the hotel so we had to park at the rotary). Other than that, the place was great!

This is a gorgeous property sitting right on Cape Cod Bay with a nice beach that you can walk on for miles and it overlooks the tip of Cape Cod. My experience was exceptional In every way

Great location for July 4th celebrations, quieter but still very convenient. Very New England feel so buildings are a little old. Everything went well overall despite staying in their hotel room with no attached bathroom--the bathroom was just a couple of doors down, and I don't think anyone else used it during my stay despite my hotel building seeming to be at full occupancy. Room was larger even than expected, especially for one person--it would have been pretty small for 2 people though (full bed). Communication with staff was polite when there was a small issue, but it was a little more bare than expected in terms of details provided.

this is an amazing old school stay on the water. walk down the beach to an amazing restaurant or paddleboard the day away. So cool will keep coming back.

No ADA parking available. They didn’t tell us there was a $30 charge for parking during the summer until we booked and wouldn’t waive the fee when we mentioned our handicap placard and ADA needs. After this discussion they did not talk about any amenities, only brought us to our room.
The room was cute and had a wonderful view. It did look like the top sheet had been taken right out of its packaging without being washed. It still has the creases. There was hair on the bathroom walls and the book shelf area that you walked through was incredibly dusty.
I would like to commemorate the cleaning staff though because my partner lost the rubber non-slip end to her walking stick and the staff picked it up and kept it until they saw her.

Absolutely beautiful area, amazing sunrises from our window.

Our unit’s kitchen was extremely dated and though I didn’t intend to spend much time watching tv, I still would have preferred not watching shows on something so unbelievably small (maybe 38 inches in diameter) in such a large living room - with a SPECTACULAR view of the water - but also a large living room devoid of a coffee table, which I did actually find annoying. But those are easily overlooked by the value, charm and view in this very pleasant cottage which my GF and I both liked very much

Cute spot. We were to talk for the doorways in the up stairs cottage room facing commercial street. Smacked my head really hard like 3 times, they are smaller doorways. It was big tho, and the window overlooking the ocean was beautiful in the mornings. Bed was a full, so two 6 foot plus dudes didn’t fit great and it leaked thru the window above it (it was down pouring so hopefully doesn’t do that all the time). I wouldn’t stay in that specific room again but I’d be willing to try another room. All in all it was fine.

The staff was so friendly and welcoming. The masthead is located in the quiet west end but it is only a five minute walk to the busier section of Commercial St.

Even though our room had a separate bathroom the room was great and location is great

The room was immaculate and very comfortable. It included a small kitchen and a small deck. I especially enjoyed sitting on the deck and looking out over the water. The only issue here is parking. Due to the nature of the location, There are limited parking spaces at the facility. There is parking available a short walk away at the Provincetown Inn, for which we were grateful. But it makes managing luggage challenging.

I have never heard of a 10AM check out. 11 AM is standard. They told it used to be 9AM. Only down side to the property.

I love being on the water and being able to swim at high tide. Beautiful location. I did not like finding a condom under the bed when we checked in.

I was staying at the inn. The room was dinky. The bed was too short, which is really weird because I'm on the short side. No hot water, I managed to take a lukewarm shower at night. While the office was very responsive during the day, it was only open from 9-5. If you have a problem after five tough luck. Also noisy as it was on the street. I will not be back.

Provincetown is full of over-priced lodgings but the Masthead is Not one of them. It’s a bit old and tired but very clean. It also has some wonderful views and a nice lawn overlooking the bay, and very few other places have this! It’s located in the quiet West End of town and is surrounded by charming homes. I’ll definitely return.

This place was excellent! We originally were planning a day trip through Provincetown, but once we arrived, we just had to stay at least one night. Masthead was one of the only locations that provided same-day booking, and we were not disappointed!
We ended up finding a great deal, in a one bedroom, shared bathroom space. Lucky for us, there was no one else booked in this area. That meant we had the washroom all to ourselves! Mind you, we did visit in shoulder season I think the experience would have been a little bit different in the busy season (sharing a shower and bathroom among potentially six people). But it is what it is and the price cannot be beat!

When we checked in there was a strong and cold wind that got through the windows and made the room very cold - we could never get the room above 60 degrees. The room key did not work on our door so we had to take all of our valuables with us every time we left the room since we could don't lock the door.
