Great rooms with great view

We stayed with our two young kids for two nights during April. The room was disappointing in size, very small balcony and no view or a private lawn to play in. The sofa bed where the kids slept was simply terrible and I ended up sleeping there for both nights since the kids could not.
The hotel is in a beautiful location but the sense is that you are not allowed to do most things in the area and in many locations you see signs "restricted, not for hotel guests." My son and I wanted to play some football and saw a great field but we could not get in and the hotel does not offer any such space for the guests.
We paid for the hotel dinner one evening and were very disappointed. It was eatable but that's it. The price however was of a first class restaurant which could not be farther from the truth.
Overall our experience was OK, but when you think of it in terms of how much we paid, this was very low value for money

The views from dining room and lodging

Positives: Extensive breakfast, good views, well maintained. There is also a nice cafe nearby and small supermarket.
Negatives:
Reception staff aren't overly friendly or helpful (I asked for a plate and was told there weren't any)
No desks in the room if you're planning on working but you can improvise by working on the table on the balcony
Room is expensive given location.
There are no thoughtful touches, such as offering chocolates from the on-site chocolate workshop, or offering road bikes to enable guests to cycle around the gorgeous Judean hills.
I don't see any initiatives to improve their eco-credentials- they are still using individual miniature plastic toiletry bottles, I received two sets of towels that were no doubt washed when I was travelling solo, there are no sensors to turn off lights when room is not in use, and aircon is used plenty to heat and cool room, and no mobility options such as bicycles which given the location and limited transport (1 bus every 1-2 hours) seems a no-brainer.
Overall, I think this hotel could really benefit from professional hotel management and take this to the next level. There just doesn't seem to be any appetite from management to improve the product..

I was hoping my son could stay over with me in the room I booked which is designed to sleep 4. When I asked to add my son so I could pay for his breakfast, the hotel wanted to charge me an extra £180 for two nights. I felt awful as I had promised my son, who had been in hospital, that we would spend the weekend together. The front desk team member Angie had no sympathy at all and is the last person I would have on front desk. It made me so upset.
When I arrived the manager Avi was the opposite - he very sweetly treated my son to breakfast and the fairground that can be found on-site. The room itself is comfortable, although the fridge was so cold (and couldnt be adjusted) it ruined the fruit and veg I had brought. Beautiful views and a plentiful breakfast to give you a great start to the day.

Nice views but far from Jerusalem

Tranquility within short distance from the center of Jerusalem. Quiet area nestled in ancient Judean forests, has all the comforts yet feels remote. Loved to relax in between stays in the Tel Aviv area. Excellent winery and choclotier nearby. Amazing breakfast on par with what they serve at Ritz-Carlton in Herzliya. Looking forward to return to this property again. Had only one issue with late check-in on a Saturday night but I managed.

Lovely stay and very helpful and friendly staff. Great location, and lots of activities onsite.
Main frustration was that the pool was closed during our stay in late May (which wasn’t mentioned on hotels.com). This was a shame as we have a baby who we were hoping could enjoy the pool

Great for family, kids loved the free theme park.

The hotel staff were very helpful, the food (breakfast and dinner) was great, and the lobby was beautiful. The rooms are spacious but outdated and therefore seem not very clean.
Guests receive free entry to Kiftzuba - a really nice amusement park geared towards children, especially younger children. We also received a voucher for Galita - a chocolate workshop which was a lot of fun for children of all ages (ours were between 2 and 16 years old).

We went with our four kids and had a wonderful time. The amusement park was perfect for our kids - something for everyone - I would say until age 10. We took a little hike in the area and the staff was very friendly.
