From my first call to set our reservation Dawn was fabulous. Thank you.
The down side was that the second i walked through the bedroom door (room#8) I encountered a tangle of spiderwebs and tiny spiders. Because I didn't want to upset my partner I said nothing at that moment to him or to Dawn who had graciously escorted us to our room. Later that afternoon, I did go to the front desk and tell Dawn about the issue. She contacted her manager and they were willing to give us another room. By that time my partner came into the front and learned about the issue. Long story shorter, we stayed in room 8 and when we came in that evening we had to cut through spiderwebs and killed 2 pretty busy spiders.
We slept in a bit late and our delicious breakfasts was kindly delivered to our room. Thank you for all of that. Additionally, we wanted to change the credit card I used to prepay our stay, for some unimaginable reason we were told that could not be accommodated. That was really annoying.
Other that that lots of free snacks and reading materials Ample parking. Dark bathroom lighting, too low of a showerhead with a very steep tub that you'd have to step into. No grab bars. Great bathrobes and lots of grwat towels and Frette sheets.
Great East Hampton location.

Incredible stay at this property with five star service and amazing staff. Every detail was thought through and they truly want to make it the best experience for all their guests. Walking distance to town and nearby shops and restaurants and easy to access other towns and areas from the location. Would highly reccomend!!

We had a wonderful time. The staff was SUPER great and very accommodating. I have dietary issues and the Chef made everything I requested perfectly. The facility was a historically significant property, and does require a bit of attention but nothing to discourage guests. The regular meal options for breakfast were really over the top good. All staff was very friendly and helpful with restaurants and travel to tourist sites. Room was older but great, extremely clean and comfortable. No negative remarks. THANKS FOR A GREAT VACATION!

This was a same day reservation for us.
The moment the reservation went in we received a call from a lady that we had to check in bc she had to leave… it was well before 3:00p. She was not very friendly. She told us we had to put breakfast order in writing asap for us to get breakfast next am, and to make sure we check out on time bc the late checkout rm was taken. You are only allowed half hr on the dining room table. Bathroom incredibly small. Hard to sleep, bed squeaks and you could hear everything inside and outside the house. The carpet was disgustingly dirty/stained … luckily it was only one night. We had breakfast somewhere else. We paid close to $800 for one night! Not worth the $$$, would not recommend. The night before we stayed at The Baker House, amazing place!

Stayed in a room with a pull out bed because there were two of us. We arrived late as we were on a work trip and there weren’t any sheets for the pull out bed, no one to contact. The number we called for 24/7 help was a Dr. office?! Cleaner woke us up at 8am banging her broom against our door. No water in the room or cups. It’s a cute place but too many disappointments for a one night stay.

The Mill House Inn is pure heaven. It is beautiful, comforting, bright and simply lovely. The staff is OUTSTANDING with their genuine care and concern. We feel like we found new friends in Dawn and Kelli. They were SO helpful with shopping ideas, sightseeing trips and a host of other info! I have life threatening food allergies which was addressed every night as I ordered our breakfast for the following morning. The menu and food are superb! We had a slight issue with our room and Kenny the GM upgraded us to a beautiful suite. I hurt my back pretty badly prior to our trip and our original room was on the third floor which was quite cumbersome for me. It was a lovely cozy smaller room, with a dormered ceiling. It was a tad confining for a tall woman with a bad back! Upon Kenny learning all of this, (in addition we were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary) he most generously upgraded us to a larger 2nd floor suite that was
more comfortable for us with my situation! We were beyond shocked but so very appreciative! We met the owner Sylvia and she concurred they wanted us to be comfortable and were pleased they had a suite open to offer us. What truly wonderful people!
We were sad to leave and can’t wait to go back. But what wonderful memories we have! We will always remember our 25th anniversary with happy hearts.💝

The Inn was wonderful but they have gotten a little COVID wacky. You had to have breakfast in your room as an example and they don’t supply a table.

MHI is a wonderful, warm inn situated in the heart of East Hampton. The owners and staff are amazing and treat you like family (in the best ways!). Breakfasts are amazing and access to village and town beaches make it invaluable during the season. Definitely will come back!

We had the most amazing time at the Mill House Inn! It was our first time to the Hamptons and it did not disappoint. Our room was cozy, clean, and the bed was super comfortable. Kenny was wonderful with restaurant recommendations and he even called us 2 weeks before our stay to alert us of the status of things with Covid. Dawn was a delight, attentively catering to our snack/breakfast needs. We absolutely loved it and can’t wait to return to the Mill House Inn. Thanks for making it such an awesome experience!

The property was perfectly located and has almost every creature comfort you could want. The staff was friendly and very customer focused, making it a pleasure to stay. The breakfasts were pretty good as well, all fresh and locally sourced ingredients. All around a pleasurable experience and would definitely return.

Service, location, space, comfort, and quality are all words that come to mind when I think of my recent stay at the Mill House Inn. At so many other properties in the US, lost is the art of hospitality - not the case here. I haven't received this level of attentive care and detail at another property in quite some time.
Having never been to the Hamptons, I took Mom "out East" during her visit this past weekend. After all, she had been hearing me talk about this little slice of heaven for 10+ years. I was torn between (this property) and the Topping Rose House, but ultimately chose the Mill House based on the slightly lower per-night prices and the fact that I simply love East Hampton.
From the moment we arrived at the property, we were treated with genuine care and fabulous service, plus invited to enjoy an array of homemade snacks (plus dog food and treats) and beverages at our disposal. The front desk advised that we make reservations for breakfast the next morning (served between 8:30 and 10:30AM), as the in-house dining room would quickly fill up.
Our 600+ square foot room included: kitchenette (mini-fridge stocked with alkaline water and seltzer, microwave, sink, cabinets, utensils/cups/plates/silverware), dining table with four chairs, two large and super comfy sofas, spa robes, a fire place, TV, king-sized bed, shower with two heads, two sinks (one for each of us), a separate whirlpool bathtub, and a doggy bed for my pup.

3500 dollars for two night and close to no service , this is just ridiculousI feel so bad I have not i had a late check in to the Hotel , a box was waiting for me at the reception with a key and how to get to my room .- in the fridge 4 bottles of water thats it - room was nice but certainly not 1750 USD per night - pillow where not comfy at all - the place is trying to be old fashion with elegance but it is just average the faucet are cheap the tile are cheap the air conditioning from the last century - went for breakfast and been told we can have wait one hour because they cant handle that many people at the same time . having said that it was a very good breakfast but remember 1750 per night -try to get a glass of wine after the beach and told no liquor licence but I can go to the liquor store and buy my own - I cant believe i paid so much money for this experience -i feel so stupid paying that much money for do it yourself is beyond comprehension - the owner of the place cant justify the price they charge

Of course the Hamptons are expensive but over $375 on a cloudy, cold April weekend for a tiny room with street noise is a bit much. But add to that the %15 mandatory service charge on the price of the room and its ridiculous. The staff was lovely and sweet, but we didnt require nor receive any particular special service. The room was honestly so small it was uncomfortable and the bathroom was so small there was not room for your toothbrush (or a glass) on the sink. Sorry, but no.

The Mill House was great, my wife and I went there over the Xmas holidays. The management & staff could not have been nicer -- they made us feel right at home. J, the General Manager, gave us a wonderful education about coffee, and lots of other topics too! The breakfasts were outstanding. All in all, we had a fine time and would definitely stay at the Mill House when we return to the Hamptons.

Breakfast was the best part of our stay followed by the comfort of the room and amenities in the bathroom.
