Newly renovated with quality utensils. Adequate heating, not normal motel 747 sound effects fan heater found elsewhere.

Whilst the outside of the complex could do with a major refresh (paint peeling and mould) the unit was clean and comfortable. It was also quiet despite its location. Staff were accommodating

An enjoyable stay. Very good sized room for the price. Easy check in after hours. Our room was dated, but in a good way. Loved the park like grounds. Would stay here again.

This property is aged but still OK for us. Spacious space for our family traveling with 2 kids. Happy with the facilities for cooking, but bathroom is bit too simple. Upstairs floor was creaking frequently, was not sound proof, and we were living at front, traffic was loud. There was communication problem/misunderstanding with our booking, and we were told about it upon arrival, I have used other online booking sites, this is the first time I experienced. It would be much appreciated If the property management informed us before. I am not sure this Expedia problem or the motel’s.

We enjoyed the warm hospitality and beautiful room

Good location. Very near to the Uni. Bit room is old. Water taps are seperated. Either hot water or cold water. Hope to replace a new tap.

We were in a family group, this motel could not even supply a packet or four of Hot chocolate for the children. They had the nerve to tell me that the motel was serviced. They were to lazy to make up the beds! They will never climb up to excellence even if the place was a five star. An attitude of take your money and run.

Loved the character and feel of the room, it was spacious with a great garden outlook. Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient.

The property was in poor condition, with cracks in the walls and tired paintwork. It needed a complete renovation to make it attractive. Worst of all was the very poor lighting. Old style bulbs of low wattage provided insufficient lighting. The owner needs to fit new LCD light bulbs throughout. Also there was only 3 bedside lamps for 5 beds and these provided insufficient light to tead with.

We enjoyed our stay at Woodlands Motels. The only thing that we did not enjoy was that the bed was old and worn out. I kept rolling into my husband.
The hotel is in a great location. The area is older but has lots of charm. It is nice to have laundry available, a great kitchen that even has a French press coffee maker, Wi-Fi and a television. The hotel is situated in a good location that is easily accessible to the University, museums, food, the city botanical garden is also near by.

Spacious and well equipped. Kitchen was easily good enough to prepare full meals which meant a break from restaurant dinners for a few nights.
I was offered a free newspaper on an arrival and a small bottle of fresh milk. The room already contained a welcome tray with tea, coffee, etc.

Woodlands is a mixed bag and you get what you pay for. Be aware there is a huge difference between the standard and superior rooms.
The location is great, walking distance to the muesum and town and despite being on one of the main roads the setting is reasonably quite. Staff were friendly and helpful and the small kids play area was a bonus.
We stayed 4 nights in a standard two bedroom unit. It was completely liveable and had everything we needed, however as others have said was musty, dated and in need of renovation. On the third night our door lock jammed, we got the manager and the door-nob literally fell off in his hand! After a bit of work the nob was back on and the door opened and we were then shifted to a superior one bed unit for our last night. The manager was very apologetic and said maintenance would be in on Monday to replace the lock so it doesn't happen to anyone else.
The difference in units was night and day. The superior unit had been fully renovated and was amazing, no issues at all. If we'd been in this unit the whole time it would be hard to understand some of the feedback this place has. We could see another unit being renovated, which is great. I guess it all takes time and money.
Would we stay there again? Yes, 100%, am I going to be expecting the Hilton, No.

Comfortable beds; Convenient location; great for family; friendly reception.

While the property itself was clean and tidy , the room that we stayed in was in terrible condition. The terrible black mould smell from the bathroom and the rot around bedroom left our clothes smelling terrible . Definitely needs a lot of maintenance and shouldn’t be letting out until this is done in my opinion.
4.0
Dated property, smell inside, not properly ventilated.
Room not clean nor service.
Carpet old & worn out.
Hair on floor, dusty property.
Unhelpful & rude staff

Very spacious unit, would have been good to know when booking that it was 2 storey unit as I was travelling with my elderly parents. Decor and furniture is a little dated but location is good and nice to have greenery around the unit.
4.0
Lovely gardens, sheltered, quiet and handy to the city and all amenities.

On a main rd but away from hustle & bustle of town, but close enough to walk & shops near by

Close to all amenities
Bathroom sink was too small
