Beautiful nature around this lodge and you can walk down to the river.
Awesome view from room balcony!

beautiful place. A little hard to get to, but based on the location worth it

Our most disappointing stay in a long time. We were up the hill with our own unit but a main light was missing in the big room, wooden shutters with no screens in bedrooms. H ad to ask owner to come show us how to turn on stove. The pluses - great balcony view, dinner was excellent, breakfast overpriced so we only ate it once. They said 2 swimming pools - 1 was empty and the other had tadpoles. We had roosters under the house that got us stayed early.

Bait and switch!!!! So horrible that there were mosquitoes infesting the cabin!!! There was no window panels or screens. RUN!!!!

The Princessa de Luna lodge is an accommodation that we cannot recommend at the price we paid for it. Furthermore, we found the description on Expedia to be misleading.
The property description says it is located in a suburban, mountainous area. Be aware that the road leading up to the property is mostly gravel with many potholes (especially important at night). We rented a 2WD SUV and had substantial trouble driving up to the property and finding a place to park. There was not much around the property itself (the restaurant across the street was closed during our time there). The property does not have a front desk, so be prepared to contact the management prior to arrival for check in. Dinner and breakfast are served on the property but must be arranged beforehand. There is not a restaurant on the property beyond this. We were told that dinner would be $7/person but were charged $15/person at checkout. While the food was good, we did not appreciate being misinformed about the price.
The rooms themselves contained just two beds and a fan. The bedsheets did not appear washed when we arrived, and there was no shampoo in the bathroom. The door to the room contains enough gaps to allow lizards/insects to enter freely (although if you are staying at an eco-lodge, perhaps you won't mind this).
Other amenities were not found to be as advertised. The pool was not usable (debris) We found the lodge to be expensive for the amenities (we paid > $400 for 3 nights; it is lower now).

We had a great stay here in the rainforest. We loved the open communal places to relax and look out on the forest. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Very good value for money, very quite and with friendly staff and a location right in the forest. The view from the common areas is spectacular.
Has the best natural pool you will find in the forest!
Offers dinners for 15$ and breakfast for 7$
The last 400m road to the lodge is a bit rough but doable in all cars

This place is amazing! The setting is out of this world, you are basically surrounded by a tropical forest. The rooms are plain but clean, but the ambience has exceeded our expectations!
The staff are friendly and the service superb. Couldn't have found a better place to stay. If you stay there, make sure to do the Adventure Tour, my teenager rated it as one of the best experiences in La Fortuna!

The lodge was super clean. It was perfect for a nice mtn get-away. I stayed there with four women total and there was so much space the deck was beautiful recommend you take a hammock and spend tine out there. Some things to know before you go though. There are no screens or curtains on the bedroom windows so I had a hard time sleeping one night worried becuse anyone could put there hand thru. But bugs were not an issue surprisingly. There is hot water in each bathroom and a place to wash cloths. Really just pretedn you are going to an old lack cabin with limited amenities. My friends and loved that feel. But we wished we had a false sense of security with curtains on the windows. Also there is nothing really up the mtn so i recommend you are ready to turn in before uu head up and a car with 4x4 or one that is not low to the ground its a dirt road at points.

Simple accommodations in a beautiful setting. Great trails on the property and a lovely pool by the river. We chose to eat at the lodge both days. No AC but wifi and balcony overlooking forested canyon were great. Tons of birds.

Princesa de la Luna Ecolodge had real rain forest ambience and there was even a toucanet at the door to welcome me! The sounds of the animals at night were an unexpected bonus. The food was fresh, tasty, and healthy. This place has real character and authenticity. I would have liked to have stayed longer!

There is a great pool next to the river that blends in with nature. There are friendly dogs if you want a hiking companion. Anderson at the kitchen was an excellent host as was the owner. He responded promptly to any questions via WhatsApp. We very much enjoyed our stay and recommend to others

An absolutely beautiful and unique place to stay. The trees and plants and flowers are lush and gorgeous. The staff is friendly and helpful. Convenient to nearby attractions and activities. Meals are lovely and have a home feel to them. We really enjoyed our stay here. The kids loved playing with the dogs and cats. We could have stayed forever!

Beautiful property, nice rooms, and kind staff! Definitely recommend it and would come back again!
It is a cabin, so you'll have some bugs / etc. in the room.

Pros: great coffee! It was in the jungle with beautiful hikes. Great bird watching. The waterfall is beautiful. William, the manager, is lovely and very concerned about the protection of wild life and the eco system.
Cons : mold on the cushions on my patio; we weren’t informed that breakfast was not included until the end of our stay (breakfast mediocre) ; Baldi spa was recommended and it was nice but don’t get the buffet dinner—pay for just the spa and have dinner at one of the good restaurants (snappers for seafood) in town; apparently there is hot water but it was not explained to us until the end of the trip when we inquired about it—a placard in the room would have been helpful. The place overall is a bit run down, rustic and remote but the jungle environment made it worth it.

This hotel is pure magic. We landed here by accident when other places were full, and we could have spent our entire vacation here. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff is wonderful, and the views and overall feeling of the place is peaceful and just so unique. Our kids loved the guided hike and the food was delicious. What more could you ask for!

The hotel itself was beautiful, kind of cabana style. The price was affordable. Our cabin had a broken window and i called the manager to see if he could move us to another room bc i was scared of snakes coming in... he was very rude, he told me that for the price i had paid he can't do that... I was very upset, i asked him if at least he can fix it, he answered that he was not at the place at that time but he was gonna try to send someone and hang up... later someone came and put a bag on the Window to cover the half broken window. I forgot to mention that we were the only people at the hotel, that the rest of the cabins were empty!! We Did not use the pool as it was dirty and all their 3 dogs were swimming in there...So the place was beautiful, but not well maintained, kind of abandoned and the service was awful.

Where do I start?? We stayed in a family house up the hill from the main lodge. It had 3 bedrooms and 6 beds which was perfect for our family. Situated about 10mins from La Fortuna in the jungle. We had a covered patio with hammocks. Meals aren’t included but we paid $7 each for a wonderful breakfast by William-the caretaker. There is a kitchen but we didn’t bring food with us to prepare. Don’t forget to take the jungle/waterfall hiking tour. It’s way more fun than I thought it was going to be plus the price includes breakfast. My kids absolutely loved it (ages 3-16).
