The Penta is a nice, reasonably priced hotel across from the beach. We stayed in room 19, which is considered a ‘large twin’. We didn’t have a view, but the room was spacious, quiet, clean and well maintained. I would warn those with mobility issues that the tub is high and may be difficult to climb out. The free Breakfast was simple but it was all we needed: cereal, toast , juice, coffee and tea. Although there were only a few restaurants close by, we liked the Chinese restaurant next to the casino. The bus stop is across the street, allowing us to get all over the island without difficulty. We highly recommend the Penta.

Older property, but well maintained and the staff members were wonderful!

Well located budget hotel with friendly and efficient staff. The room was very stuffy and airless and the “continental” breakfast was really just some cereals and toast. But a good location.

Easy access to the electric railway and the walk to the city centre was along the sea-front

Angel was very helpful in finding transportation from the hotel to the port. Hotel is located close to the town center, bus stations, electric tram. Clean, modern, with continental bfast included.

No view from room but clean and pleasant with all the amenities you would expect

This is a rundown hotel with good cleanliness. During our stay, it had ongoing building work. There was scaffolding outside, not only blocking the sea view but also posing safety concerns. However, the hotel did not disclose this condition and still charged for the non-existent 'sea view.' Based on this, I can't trust this hotel chain.

Large & clean rooms, free cereals & toast, kettle in room, shirt walk to town.

The Penta was spotlessly clean.
Large room & en suite.
Was unmanned most of the time but was easy to communicate with manager & sister hotel, when required.
Limited, free continental breakfast, was unexpected (other than what we read in previous reviews)
Would've loved a bar on site but were able to use the sister hotel.
Comfortable stay. Fair walk to centre of Douglas but not a problem.

Excellent value for money. We were 5 friends with 5 rooms and I heard no complaints. One of our party had difficulty walking so would have welcomed a hotel nearer Douglas centre, but the Penta is walkable from the centre if fit, otherwise buses run up and down the promenade. A shorter walk the other way gets you to the electric railway north. I plan to return.

Lovely hotel, nice clean comfortable room.
Continental style breakfast, plenty to eat and drink. Ship was cancelled, we had no reservations booking an extra night (other guests did the same)

Lovely 3 star hotel, we had an attic room with sea views, very spacious and the en-suite was newly refurbished with great water pressure making the shower very efficient. The lift was small but efficient, not a suitable place for people with mobility issues as the step up to the front door were steep, we struggled sometimes after a days walking. Convenient for the city of Douglas and we bought 5day tickets (Go explore) for the buses trams, electric and steam trains and entrance to museums so we were able to explore the island. The transport was always on time. The area was very clean as was the hotel. The light breakfast was adequate for our needs and the staff were very attentive and helpful. We will be back.

The hotel is beautiful, clean and the rooms a good size. Bathroom was spotless and again a good size that included a full size bath and shower. The only thing I can say and this is obviously a personal preference is the bed is far too hard, if you like a very firm mattress you'd love it, if you prefer anything with a bit of softness then theyre not for you. But overall i would recommend this hotel. I never had breakfast (my choice) so i can't say about that. Value for money it is well worth it, and youre across from the promenade

We loved the Art Deco decor in the entrance hall.
The room was big.
Great location. Managed to get a parking space close by each day. Really good shower. Good price

Communication before we checked in was excellent including bus instructions. We checked in on a Friday evening and the check in was unmanned but done via a hotel phone. The room was large and clean and could have easily accommodated a couple of comfortable chairs (which sadly it did not). The shower was good but the bed doonas/duvees were two singles. The shower was good (but was 'in bath' so not good for those with mobility problems). The view from our room (which had lots of windows) was nothing great. The complimentary breakfasts were basic.
The location is a couple of Kilometers north of the town centre but there were a few local restaurants and bars (The Terminus is a good one). Overall good.

Best value in Douglas. Our Group have stayed here for a number of years and will do so again for our trip next year.

Nice spacious room on the top floor. Big bathroom and lots of storage. Very clean.
Bed is a bit small, especially for the size of the room, but definitely comfortable.
It's a little dated and old fashioned, but in a good way. It doesn't feel like one of a hundred identical hotels. No pretentions, just a very good, comfortable place to stay.

The hotel was easy to get to from the airport with the bus stop just ouside. Check in was easy and quick. Room was big and clean. Good size bathroom with powerful shower.

What an awesome place! We took our Holiday in Douglas and needed a hotel on the promonade for the final night before our ferry. This hotel was amazing! We had room 16 with a perfect view of the harbor. The room was comfortable, clean and check in was quick and easy. I would easily recommend this place to anyone needing a room.

Lovely hotel, the room was spacious and nice and clean. They offer a complimentary breakfast which was nice. It's in a great location a short walk from town and public transport links which allow you to explore the island. Good value for money.

Nice hotel with good size rooms no problems with anything in the room and nice buffet style complementary breakfast the staff were nice and helpful
The only thing I would pickup on is that the carpet in my room had some stains and could do with replacing but overall really happy and good value for money and would happily stay again.

Didn’t like the heat and the lack of ventilation in corridors, etc.
No hot water when I showered early evening.
Otherwise very happy.

Wifi didn't really work, toilet didn't flush amd we were given one big towel between us. You had to call through to another hotel if you needed anything and wait for someone to come which we weren't used to. The staff member who checked us out could have been a bit more friendlier and talkative to ask how the stay was etc instead of a quick ok when handing the key back. Otherwise everything was there we needed and we had a comfortable nights sleep.
