located a quick walk from the train station, breakfast and dinner included (and the food was quite good!), there is a little bar and a 'living room' to hang out in - it's a lovely little hotel

Loved the location Great view of the fjord.Very cosy stay.

The Heimly was the only hotel I could find in Flåm on Expedia. It did the job. The room was small, and so was the bathroom, but we had an amazing view of the Fjord. The shower doors barely closed flooding the bathroom. The breakfast buffet was yummy, but coffee is pulled at 9:30 AM on the dot. There is a nice rumpus room that had space to read in after dinner. The hotel is walking distance to the train station and town.

Very expensive. No option for transport from main town.

Not comfortable. Twin beds very narrow. No headboard, pillow kept falling off. No elevator many stairs. One set had no handrail. The very second breakfast was over the food and coffee were cleared. No time for second coffee. Would not stay here again.

Late night arrival but the staff were very helpful and we were still able to be served dinner; which was excellent! The Chef even helped us with our bags!

The room was VERY basic, the bathroom was tiny and the shower leaked all over the floor so it was completely flooded.
The dinner provided was quite nice
Overall so over-priced - but I am guessing they can do that as there is so little accomodation options in Flam

It was super expensive but did not have much value. Not worth the money at all.

we didn't have much choice! all of hotel in the area was full. Overall this was okay.

Worst room in a four country vacation. Pros: it is a room indoors. Good view. Great breakfast and dinner.
Cons. Very dirty. Moldy. Missing paint. Molded water standing in toilet cleaner. Extremely small room. Had to literally throw my shoulder into the door to get it open.
Couldn’t easily walk into our room because of piles of dirty laundry in sacks. Around midnight staff began moving the laundry and were super loud.

Cute hotel. loved that meals were included. great for stay with dog. great location.
6.0 / 10.0
Very clean property with a nice view. Tiny tiny rooms with even tinier bathrooms. It felt like being in a room on a cruise ship.
If it hadn’t been so expensive, that would all have been OK, but for the price it was not worth it.

Highly recommended - excellent view! Short easy walk from train station/port. Great food. Definitely worth staying in Flam to get the full Norway in a nutshell experience - otherwise too rushed.

I recently stayed at Heimly in Flåm, Norway, for two nights, and I must say, it was a thoroughly disappointing experience. Despite paying nearly $400 per night, the service we received was far from what we expected.
Our troubles began immediately upon arrival. The reception staff, particularly one individual, was incredibly rude and unaccommodating. On the first night, we were forced to change rooms, a major inconvenience that disrupted our stay. This move was neither explained nor apologized for, adding to our frustration.
The dining experience was equally unpleasant. Despite the restaurant having ample space, the same receptionist refused to seat us. Her demeanor made us feel like unwelcome intruders rather than valued guests at an upscale establishment. It was as though we were employees being ordered around rather than paying customers.
Also they only have 1 Regualr key per room, so if you misplaced your key, your locked out of your room for the night, and they won’t help you!! Because it’s your fault you lost your key right?
Overall, the service was appalling and completely tarnished what should have been a memorable stay in Flåm. The hotel's management needs to seriously address their staff's attitude and customer service standards. For the high price we paid, we expected far better treatment and a more welcoming atmosphere. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a pleasant and enjoyable stay.

Lovely having a 3 course dinner as part of our stay. Cosy, friendly service. The single beds and bathroom were very small otherwise everything was very comfortable. Homely areas to relax inside and out.

We stayed at Heimly for 1 night while we were in flam. It was a great choice as some of the other hotels closer to the railway station would’ve had the view of cruise ships I think. This is about half a Km away from the centre hence we got an unblocked view of the fjords.
I would definitely stay here next time if I want to stay in Flam. However we may stay in some other places close to flam that are equally beautiful and cheaper as well.
The room is pretty average, small size. The bathroom is really really tiny. Average toiletries provided. The only thing about the room great was the fjord view.
The bf was basic but adequate. Our package included dinner that was very nice and served very well too.

Amazing view, clean rooms, and nice staff. They had both FREE breakfast AND dinner. The dinner was like a 3 course meal too. Very impressive.

A little rustic mixed with charm. Right on the water with the best view of the fjord

The property was a great find! It had everything we wanted, plus we got dinner and breakfast with our stay. It was very good food, too! The staff was helpful, as well. I definitely recommend this place to others.

Good dinner, the staffs were very nice, has very nice view . The only bad thing for us was walking up hill to the hotel in the cold rain.

It included breakfast AND dinner, and both were excellent. Really convenient. Close to everything. Only drawback was that the room was small and reminded me of a college dorm room with a bathroom. BUT, it was fine. If I return to Flam, I’d stay there in a heartbeat. Great stay. Highly recommend.

Clean hotel with an excellent chef. We are vegetarian and the set menu veggie option was delicious. The wifi was a bit slow.

Friendly, helpful staff. Clean and quiet property. Nice local beer selection. Ask for a room on the second floor to avoid sound issues with upstairs rooms dropping luggage, dragging furniture, etc. Also, note that twin beds are not regular width but narrow like train bunks.

We were unable to arrive to our reservation due to natural disasters in the area canceling our means of transportation. We contacted the hotel regarding this and they refused to give us any refund.

It was a nice little hotel in a good location, but the rooms and bathrooms are tiny and the furnishings are sparse and chintzy. The food in the restaurant is OK, but the menu is limited and nothing special. Of the four places we stayed in Norway, it was easily the most expensive while being the least nice.

This hotel felt more like a BnB than a hotel. But there are only a handful of hotels here. The remoteness is not an issue anymore either as we saw people from every corner of the world. If you manage to get the view of the lake then it is worth it. They will charge you around Kr300 to get the lake view but hotels.com did not help with their overpowering advertising strategy making all rooms look twice as big in the photos. The number of pictures which you see, there will be twice as many pictures of room with a view than those without, leaving you with an impression that there is a possibility of a room with a view than without. Then, you will notice that the room without a view is dimmed by turning the lights on in the room. This is only a gimmick. It makes you think that you can get at least partial view along with the trees, etc. No. The hotel is facing the lake, the back is facing the mountain. There is room with a view or without, no in between. But if you are paying nearly $300.00 for a night, wouldn't you pay $20 extra to get the view? The hotel is also a bit off beat which is good and bad. Good because it is on a nice jogging trail with amazing photo op. Bad because it is about 15 minutes walk from the center with no directions at all. Other than that the hotel felt like a cardboard box. Food was ok, nothing to write home about. Staff, well, they are friendly depending on who they are dealing with. But their attitude was not based on customer service.

Fantastic location. Excellent breakfast/dinner. Very friendly and capable staff. Thank you !
The only minus is that the bathroom and beds are extremely modest/small. Also, there are essentially no shelves/place to unpack/sort. It was adequate for one night for us, but felt cramped.

I was pleasantly surprised that dinner was included with our stay, and arguably the best meal I had in Scandivania. It’s not fancy but it’s nice, and the staff is nice as well. I enjoyed my stay in Fläm.

A perfect stay with a beautiful view. The room was on the small side for 2 people but cozy and very clean. The beds were very comfy. We didn’t get to try the dinner included with the stay but breakfast was excellent. Highly recommended!
