Very clean. Disappointed they didn’t have breakfast as their ads said the restaurant opened at 9:00 for breakfast.

We went there for a weekend, what a beautiful place to go to and relax perfect. If you like trout fishing lots of that to be done there around the area. Excellent for family reunions. Place is wonderful. Thanks again

Wonderful stay. Friendly staff. Ellie May's food was delicious. Clean. Quiet location.

Went for a quick family trip at the end of basketball season to try and squeeze in a ski/board trip. Elk River made check in super easy and even made it possible for us to check in early.
The cabin had everything we needed for our trip and Ellie Mays restaurant was awesome. For those that like sweet tea, there’s was on another level. The grounds itself had a lot to offer and my daughter and I did some exploring 2 of the days we were there.

The Hippie suite was perfect for the three of us for our weekend ski trip at Snowshoe. The place was very clean and cozy. Love how we park right at our suite’s doorstep, and the fly shop/restaurant is just across the street. Check-in was a breeze. The food selection at the restaurant was pretty good. The road to get to Elk Springs Resort is a little narrow - we often had pull off the road a little and stop to let other cars pass, especially with the snow and ice. Other than that, this stay was a 10/10, would book again!

Each cabin/unit has a different theme. We stayed in the "Harley" unit which was beautifully decorated in Harley colors and decor. Room was very clean and attention to detail had been taken.

The resort was fine. What they dont mention is that its very difficult to find. Google maps will let you know that you have arrived. But the reality is that you have another 10 miles to go. We drove back and fourth in the pitch black late at night. There was a wonderful woman that stopped to help us, she led us to the resort. She was an Angel! We would have never found this olace if it wasnt for her. When you see the sign to the resort, just know its 10 more miles to the middle if no where.

Great all around. comfy and cozy after a long day of snowboarding. Made key accommodations for a late arrival/check in. easy check out. good communication for weather updates. Will be returning often

Beautiful atmosphere.

This stay turned out to be a very pleasant surprise! It was the only thing we could find near Snowshoe (last minute), but was so much more than we expected!! Large great room with connecting cabin rooms(w private bathroom). Full size community kitchen. Great place for family/friend gathering! Although it is far from almost everything, they have every amenity needed, and they communicate very well!! They even have their own bar/restaurant onsite. It was about 45 min drive to Snowshoe. Try it! You’ll be happy you did!

Nice Cabins, pretty area. If it is going to snow i would recommend 4wd.

Our experience was very good , the Lodge was very nice and very clean. Great time of year to go . The staff was very nice

We stayed here for a couples weekend to see the beautiful fall leaves. We had a great time in the movie cabin and loved the privacy of the shower house. We visited many things in the area ie Cass, Snowshoe. The restaurant is wonderful A++!!!

Very neat & quiet studio cabin. Loved rocking on the porch listening to the river. Great food & friendly service.

Was not notified we needed to bring our own towels and shower supplies. Our cabin was the furthest from toilet/shower facilities, a problem for 81/80 y/o travelers.

We loved the property. The Jungle Unit was even better than the pictures online. Ellie Mae's Restaurant was great! The food was great, especially the Mac and Cheese and trout, and the service was amazing. From the moment we walked in me felt like we were friends and not customers.
Our only issue was not with the resort, but with Google Maps which had the milage wrong on the maps we printed off. We had a hard time finding it, thinking we had driven too far when in fact it wasn't far enough. We ended up stuck in a mud hole and missed our first night at the cabin. But once we did arrive, it definately didn't disapoint.
The trout ponds are great! We rode the Cass railway Bald Knob adventure and loved it as well. We had a great trip, it just wasn't long enough. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Very clean, quite, and safe rental property. Such a nice experience sleeping in the forest and getting away from cell signal for a few days. I would not hesitate renting again.

Amazing property and lodge. Lodge was clean and well maintained! Room was cozy and inviting. Everyone was helpful and friendly! Great services at the restaurant and gift shop. Way better than we imagined. We will definitely return in the future!

Its a nice place right on the river. very quiet and beautiful.

The staff were friendly and interactive. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I booked the lodge, goal was affordable lodging near Snowshoe Mountain in order to ski. We were pleasantly surprised and will definitely return 😊

We had a nice stay in the Farm House Cabin, which is part of the Elk Springs Resort. The cabin is rustic, comfortable, and worked very well for our weekend stay. We rented the cabin to ski at Snowshoe Mountain, which is almost exactly a half hour away.
My only complaint relates to the appliances. The Whirlpool electric stove only worked intermittently due to a bad electrical connection, and the refrigerator is very old -- the freezer was not able to keep our items frozen. Given the price to stay, appliances should function properly.

It was amazing. We will be going back!

It was very remote. Exactly as described. it was winter and we were only there at night so I can't speak to the amenities on the property. But the room was nice and clean. If the restaurant is closed, as it was during our visit, there are little to no food options in a 10 to 15 mile radius.
4.6
The property was very affordable as opposed to other lodging options we were looking at for a weekend of skiing and snowboarding at Snowshoe. It is a little bit further from the mountain, but a manageable ~35 min drive. The savings in lodging make it worth it. On top of that it is a beautiful lodge and the room was very nice. There is also a shared kitchen if you want to save money on dining out and laundry machines should you need them. Would stay here again!

Great place to enjoy the outdoors

I like this resort. Considering the price, it is good. I enjoyed time at this resort. The space is enough and comfortable to stay.
This resort is far away about 40 min from snowshoe ski place. There is no phone connection and very limited to connect Wi-Fi.

We LOVED our stay at the resort.
The cabins were spotlessly clean and cozy.
The only hitch is that you'll need to bring your own food because there aren't many places to eat nearby.

Fabulous, quiet and private place to stay as an (far less pricey) alternative to Snowshoe Village! On Google Maps it seems farther out than it is IRL, with multiple routes to explore the mountainous scenery. Reservation on Expedia was simple. Check-in is from 3-5pm but it is perfectly fine to arrive after and they make it very convenient to do so...just let them know. The grounds are absolutely beautiful to walk. Built with floor-to-ceiling wood planks, the Jungle cabin was quiet even though there were neighbors. Baseboard heating is controlled via thermostat. Foldgers and Maxwell House coffee with hotel-style sweetener packets were made available. There is also a microwave and mini-fridge in this room, so do some light grocery shopping beforehand. There is a loft area upstairs, spacious bathroom, plenty of closet space - even an in-unit, stackable washer/dryer! DISH satellite for TV. No cell service but very reliable Wi-Fi. My only recommendation to the property is to invest in newer towels and bedding (and add a feather bed as a topper for comfort), to accent everything else that's absolutely perfect about this resort!

Beautiful, serene and one of the cleanest places I have ever stayed.

The resort is in a beautiful spot
Our cabin was between two branches of the river, we had a bridge we had to walk over to get to our cabin. The bridge was nicely lighted, the cabin was comfortable for our family of four.
The staff was very helpful before and during our visit. The lodge is spectacular, we did not stay there but stopped over to check it out
Great gift shop my daughter loved some of the treasures she picked out
It would only have been better if the restaurant was open, I hear it will be opening back up in a few months
Our trip was to ski at snowshoe, it it a little bit of a drive but the elk river resort offered something a little different then staying on the mountain

We loved this place! Wonderful quaint facilities. Beautiful surroundings. Quiet. The staff is welcoming, knowledgeable and professional.

Very secluded.Although not too far to Snowshoe (about 25 min) Pretty property. Hard to find with no GPS. No phone service at all.Would not reccomend night time driving. Roads are narrow and quite twisty. Lots of deers running around as well. I was looking to view fall foilage and it was beautiful. Especially the drive up to Snowshoe. Wish the restaurant was not closed. All in all, it was what I was looking for. Quite a unique experience.

The cottage we stayed at was very comfy and cozy.

This is the cutest place tucked in the mountains next to a river. The cabin is so quaint and clean.
4.6
The lack of cell service adds to the whole experience but the directions giving by elk springs was great! Awesome cabin and beautiful scenery. Super clean cabin and bath house. We will be back next year for sure !

Had a great stay! Wish the bar / restaurant was open. Nowhere nearby to eat or have a cocktail.

Was extremely shocked by what all was there and how big the room was. The pics on the site do not do it justice. Only bad thing they warn you about, no real cell service at all. But sometimes that is what one needs.
