The almar was amazing. The view is stunning and the staff were very nice. Room was clean everyday and safe. The facilities were great and exceptional.
3.5
Beautiful facilities, great location.
The answer to practically everything is “no” or there’s an extra charge. There’s an additional charge if my friends not staying at Almar wanted to have breakfast with me. The staff doesn’t seem to be empowered to make any accommodations when a guest is unhappy about something.

The views and the infinity pool were really great.
The staff seems not friendly, the hotel has too many restrictions on bringing guests/friends, you feel like you're always under scrutiny, which isn't ideal on a vacation. Checkout is strictly before 11am, every minute late would cost you extra fees!! The guy (Ricardo) who was at the front desk was super rude, which made for a bad check-in experience. I understand it's a fancy property but a friendlier treatment of guests would help!

The resort is absolutely beautiful and close to the beach. The tub in the room was perfect for just sitting and watching the ocean from the comfort of our room.
Y’all… the property itself was fine but food and drinks were too expensive. I could feed me and my husband on about USD$10 outside of the resort or I could buy a drink for USD$20 at the resort. Hard pass.

The property is located near to shops and wonderful restaurants, with its own beach and two pools! It seems every room had an ocean view.
There is upgrade construction that made things a bit noisy during the days-but it started at a reasonable time and ended early

I loved my the comfort of my room.. the beds were very comfortable and the staff was extremely helpful and pleasant..
The only thing that was negative i would say is my view..
0.5
La ubicación y la piscina infinita.
The beds had mites. After the first night I started to get itchy skin and rashes and marks all over my body. After the second night and seeing that the situation was getting worse, we consulted with a doctor who diagnosed us with scaviosis, and we had to spend 2000mex on medicines. We confirm that the condition was contracted at the hotel since no one in our home in Mexico City had symptoms.
A doctor or manager never came to the hotel to take responsibility, or at least to apologize. The truth is that paying 1500usd for a stay and having these results is unfortunate and not recommended. We made several posts on instagram to publicize this very reprehensible case.

The pool, beach club, and views are great. Having access included to the events is good value when staying on the weekend. Staff are nice and friendly even though the prices/policies aren’t.
Overpriced (even more than other LGBT resorts) with average service. Food and drinks at the Eden pool cost about triple more than anywhere else, and they attempt to upsell massages while we’re lounging there, at least once a day. The beach club has more reasonable prices, although you get hassled by vendors if you’re sitting on the beach front.
The wrist band experience certainly didn’t feel “luxury.” We opted out of “sealing” the bracelets onto our wrist because that isn’t comfortable for sleeping. Instead we tied them normally, at the risk of paying $25 if we lose them; they aren’t that sturdy. The dynamic is overall weird and cheap imo. There should be a better way to manage it.
We got disturbed on our midday nap just because they wanted to check the minibar. There’s also music all day while the sun is up, which we could hear in our room. Sometimes construction noise as well.
Our room key-reader ran out of battery on the night before we checked out. We had to wait an hour until they figured out a way to open it, all while there was a bat roaming around. The next day, instead of waiting for us to check out, someone woke us up to fix the key-reader. This lack of attention is unacceptable at the price point they’re charging.

The room size was amazing, the housekeeper was exceptional, the food at the rooftop bar was awful. Eden is a great addition.
The food. The pillows. Too firm for me.
The shower door leaked into the main part of the bathroom and no one would come to address it. Felt like they nickel and dimed us. Only got 2 days of coffee and then had to pay from that point on
3.5
Great pools, beach club. LARGE rooms with plenty of space. We have stayed here multiple times. Great beach, great walkable location to heart of romantic zone.
Food quality at the beach club seems to have declined over the past couple times :( Rooms close to Beach club are NOISY (FYI if you book those rooms, loud music starts EARLY!) Adjoining rooms have sliding doors that DO NOT PROVIDE sound barriers at all. So pray you have quiet neighbors, and they also dont mind if you enjoy late night "adult" activities. Otherwise you might get complaints that your "noises" are too loud.

We loved the location and access to local restaurants, Mantamar and the beach. The Almar pool area is beautiful with great views.
The gym has limited equipment and a few of them were broken. For an LGBT resort, we expected the gym to be significantly more equipped. The visitor policy is a bit too strict and should be more flexible.

The location, being around so many other queer people, the Eden pool is incredible. Having full access to Mantamar Beach club was awesome.
There was some construction noise during the day, but it never really bothered us. The room decor was a little tacky (neon sex lights above the bed?) They try to push a time share on you hard when you arrive.

the new pool at the Almar
super thin walls, you can easily hear conversations in the room next to you. constant construction. not always getting what you pay for

All LGBTQ, which is always nice. Access to Mantamar Beach Club is fantastic. Balcony views are wonderful (if not quite sunset).
The bar and view from the Pool and "The Top" restaurant was amazing.
Pretty noisy on the weekend - shows upstairs and at Blue Chairs kind of reverberate around the area. Music until 2am.
A little bit of a walk to the rest of Zona Romantica, but not bad!

we’ve stayed there 10-12 times before. The beach, staff and overall - it’s the best gay hotel on the beach.
The property is not being maintained and up to standards. we generally go 3-5x a year… AC units work half the time… Towels are thread barren, and upon check in we always have to fight for a room we pre-paid for. As many people as we have brought with us and as much as we’ve stayed there… we are put in a room with less amenities and size than we paid for. a two hour battle ensues and we are eventually moved. Not going to battle anymore. Time to find another destination that cares about their property and their guests.
