Lovely hotel, comfortable bedrooms. Wifi works well. Very happy with my stay.
4.1
Hotel was nice, staff were frendly and helpful but the negatives were £15 a dsy carpark charge snd the very average breakfast buffet
4.1
Room was good except it was very hot at night, no ventilation. I will ask next time
4.1
Very friendly and professional front of house staff.
I Wasn't a big fan of the coffee at breakfast or the fatty bacon but there was plenty of other choices.
Be careful with the parking fees. If you are an overnight visitor but park for over 12 hours, you need to pay for a full 24 hours. That is a rip off.

The bedroom, with a balcony overlooking the Thames, was clean but pretty shabby - very worn carpets. The housekeeping staff were excellent. Breakfast staff did a sterling job despite a terrible kitchen. We asked for pancakes - they took over 15 minutes to emerge and had obviously been microwaved as they were rubbery and inedible. So, my wife then asked for two soft boiled eggs from the cooked to order menu. What came out (after prompting) were two fridge cold hard boiled eggs. Honestly, couldn’t make it up. The waiting staff came to the rescue and, obviously after giving the cook a severe talking to, came out with two perfect eggs. If only they’d got it right first time!

Didn’t advertise car parking payment at time of booking… but reception was helpful with payment ( reduced by 50%). Whilst the bed was comfortable ish it was too big ie 2 doubles pushed together and the middle meeting was uncomfortable. Breakfast was a bit stressful bit busy people wise but .. no orange juice so went for cereal no milk at the table so went to drinks machine got milk no loose sugar/canderel ( sugar cubes don’t work on cereal !) . Went for fried eggs .. none had to wait and wait …. Then saw orange juice now in place … no glasses!… eventually it sort of worked out but wasn’t what I would have expected.. plus very cold in that area .
Location excellent, staff very friendly and helpful…

I stay here whenever I'm in Reading at our UK HQ. The staff are brilliant, it has a great gym and the rooms are big and comfortable. Highly recommended.

I will start with the good bits , parking was easy but does cost £15 every 24hrs.
Check in was quick and easy. Room was clean a bit dated but generally acceptable.
Long day so fancied room service , firstly no menu in the room so had to get one of those , then tried to ring through from room phone to order but no one answers tried reception again no answer even tried ringing from my mobile to reception no answer and after half an hour gave up and ordered from Uber eats. Next day hung my 'please clean room' on door came back 4 hours later and not done. tried to ring house keeping and guess what .. no answer had to go down to reception in the end and ask. Tried room service again that evening did get an answer after 15 mins to be told they only have pizza or curry so went hungry.
In summary for the service received its over priced , bar prices are also overpriced. wouldn't stay here again or recommend.

Whole experience was enjoyable. Would go here again when I’m back in Reading

The lady at the front desk was terse, did not seem friendly.not only woth us but those in frontnof us also.
We had to pay for car park but premiar inn was free, not great.
The guy at breakfast was friendly ,nice guy.

Great location on the river, nice bar overlooking the Thames to watch the world go by and nice pub over the bridge in Caversham. . On site parking. Good breakfast. Nice room with large balcony and a great view. Comfy bed and good shower. Lacking bedside power points (I charge my phone overnight). Would happily return.
4.1
The public areas of the hotel were all lovely and breakfast was good.
The room itself was fine but nothing special. Perfectly clean and functional and the beds were comfy. I think for the rating and the price you just expect slightly more but it definitely is a safe booking.
4.1
Housekeeping poor..stayed 4 nights and only towels changed daily..bed just spread up..refreshments only replenished once during stay....ie..tea, water etc...also had issue with disabled parking..plenty marked spaces at hotel, but not monitored and were being used by non badge holders
4.1
Lovely hotel, comfortable bed and nice room. My only gripe was the ironing board - very cheap and in poor condition, it collapsed on me several times whilst trying to iron a shirt.
Other than that - great hotel

Nice place but the rooms and bathrooms are very old

Thoroughky enjoyed our stay for my partners birthday

Amenities were good. Should get folks up to speed for Henley regatta events

Unsure why the charge for parking. seems petty

We had a very warm welcome from Saleh on reception at Reading hotel
4.1
Bed was uncomfortable. Bathtub drain was broken and the bathroom in general could have used a better clean. Ring of dirt around the drain in the sink. Not that inpressed with my stay.

Property is located by the river and we experienced a local rowing competition which is fantastic.
4.1
Nice rooms and friendly staff.

Nice stay at this hotel, which had a great pool and sauna & steam facilities. The check-in was very slow having only 1 person during peak check-in time, and being seated at breakfast took quite a while despite coming at an earlier time. Exterior of hotel is dated, but inside looks more modern
4.1
The rooms and beds are in need of an update. However, the facilities are good but more staff needed at breakfast, we had to wait a while to be seated. The pool, sauna and steam was very nice.
4.1
Lovely location next to the river and close to many restaurants. The hotel itself is in need of a renovation and is most certainly the worst Crowne Plaza we have stayed in. Reception, bar area , restaurant and gym are all decent but the rooms are looking very shabby. Only one lift worked and you have to pay for parking ( half price for IHG members) which really should be included in the price you pay as it’s not a cheap hotel. Breakfast was chaos especially on our first morning with no clean tables, no cups or glasses to use then the coffee machine needed resetting. Although it was a decent spread, they just needed more staff for the number of guests.
4.1
Hotels in Reading are very cheap. We chose the Crowne Plaza because of the Pool facility! Steam room was great. Sauna wasn't too hot

It’s on the river with beautiful walks

Always enjoy an upgrade!

This was a one night stay in order to attend a birthday party. The receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful allowing us to check in a little early. The room was comfortable and clean and, despite being near the road was surprisingly quiet. We would definitely stay again.
4.1
It was a good one night stay. We love this hotel, and we have stayed here before, as it is by the water and it is in a good location. We enjoyed the breakfast, which was very filling!
The only thing that I was not happy with is when I called room service for some glasses and ice, the lady asked me to pick come down and pick it from the bar - I don't think that is the meaning of room service!!
4.1
Nice hotel in a good location
4.1
Very good and comfortable hotel. Parking easy, esp if you become an IHG member ie cheaper!! Slight issue with breakfast staffing with a bit of gueueing, but otherwise we would definitely stay again
4.1
Great, quiet room with nice view. The spa is excellent, although it can be busy at times. Location is perfect for a relaxing stay with strolls on the river bank. Good restaurants nearby, great selection of various cuisines.
4.1
The hotel was not of the standard for the money spent.
The room was very cold, extremely uncomfortable beds. Sofa was cramped in an extremely small space and very uncomfortable. No room to access the mirror or any other part of the room.
I do not think the room was worth £140.
I don’t think you should have to pay such a large amount for parking.
The shower was to close to the wall and you couldn’t adjust it. Also there was quite a bit of mould on the outside window and the wallpaper in the hall was peeling.
We could not access the swimming pool facility because it was full. And had to wait for a period of time. The changing room was pretty disgusting hair all over the floor and dirty.
4.1
Very pleased with our stay, room could have been a bit cleaner..smudges in mirrors surfaces but use of pool was great. Nice and warm too
4.1
Good clean hotel

The staff on front desk was not friendly or accommodating for people arriving 15 minutes early for check in time. At 3pm there ended being a line up over a dozen people trying to check in.
Staff in restaurant didn’t use common sense of putting a few tables together to accommodate a party of 8 people. They did not keep on top of lack of mugs, glasses and cutlery during the breakfast hours.
4.1
Restaurant food excellent and room was comfortable, but desk service was lacking . Turned up at 14.24 and told check in was 15.00. Then as soon as I sat down desk opens and a crowd of people joined the desk? Common sense would have been to deal with my request ? Bit jobs worth really and did not tell me I get discount on parking , and told to pay on app
4.1
Not at all impressed at the extra charge for parking especially as it wasnt explained at time of booking, come on management this is an outragous charge.
4.1
Convenient location with full range of breakfast buffet options
