Impromptu stay turned it into a great day. Staff was very helpful. Great restaurants nearby within walking distance beach is right across the street .have bicycles on property that you can use to tour the art deco.Bed and bedding extra comfy!Perfect location

One of my favorite hotels. I stay every time I visit Miami. Close to restaurants, cvs to grab anything i may have forgotten or just to buy a souvenir. Also i love the quick access to the beach. Great staff and always welcoming.

They put me on the 4th floor the elevator in the hotel did not work the whole 3 days I was there plus the room I had the toilet handle was broken they did not give me a discount or anything I was there I had to walk up and down the stair from the 4th floor all the way back to the first floor the 3 days I was there and no body cared mmy wife was there to and she has bad knees

Pictures must be from the 50s when it was built. Run down, elevator out of order . Insufficient air conditioning, granite pillows. Rusty floors etc etc. Plus side , fantastic location free chairs for the beach super friendly staff. Owners need a revamp and the restaurant is closed with no apparent reopen date.

It was great staying at the Beacon, the bathrooms are super small but the bed was good. This is good for weekend but not great for longer stays. If your looking for a great south beach location and affordable and not high end then this is your place.

Room was not as shown in photos .. Floor was not clean and had a lot of grout showing. Phone in room was broken and didn’t work. Staff not very friendly and was charged for room before I arrived and was supposed to pay at the property. Booking even said pay at property and they tried to cancel my reservation and said the listing as such was a mistake.

Unfortunately, the elevator was not working & I discovered it had not been working for about 2 months. This made getting heavy luggage to the room difficult, particularly for those with health issues. There was no bellhop available before 9 am or after 9 pm.

Wrong place to stay. We were on 3rd floor. Elevator not working. Has not been working for days or weeks. No technicians even looking at fixing it. No internet on site for tv. ALL tvs had no connection. I tried to use room phone to call front desk. NOPE. Used cell phone. Front desk associate eventually came to check it out. Looked at connections like i couldnt do that and said Sorry not working. Then followed up with I am only employee working. No one else here to look at it. This was after we came to the hotel and my reservation wasn't in the system and the front desk associate was on the phone with someone walking and threw it. He then assigned me a room give me my room key and then my business partner had a second room and he was checking in and then he says to me sorry I have to take back your room because I think someone is still staying in that room and had to reassign me a new room. Later on after a nice walk on Ocean Ave we decided to go to bed and I go to turn the TV off using the remote control but no matter what I did it wouldn't turn off. I'm afraid to call the front desks since there's only one person it took me awhile to disconnect the cable behind the TV. On the positive side the bed was comfortable however the shower whoever installed the shampoo should look at the location as it made it very difficult to shower in terms of room. Sorry there were many hotels in the same price range and there are many hotels that were available so we made the wrong choice

Excellent Location in the heart of South Beach with really great customer service! It has neat vibe inside. BUT this hotel needs some updating in a major way. It's an old hotel to start and it's obvious they tried to improve it, but the elevator was down and breakfast was provided by a restaurant nearly a block away. It would have been nice to know this in advance. We had to take 4 flights of steps to our room. Plus, views from our room lacked a lot (looked into other ugly buildings & a back alley). Beds sunk in the middle and pillows were weird. The bathroom was only big enough for 1 person at a time. Room was pretty clean but very humid. If you like unique places with a cool vibe, this place is great!! If you want modern and fancy, this is not your hotel!

Don’t be fooled by the photos and rating. This hotel is very old and you can feel it when staying there. The room felt dirty and the bed was very uncomfortable.

The staff was very welcoming and helpful during check-in, and they kindly assisted with my luggage. The hotel restaurant was fantastic, offering a wonderful atmosphere and delicious food.

The elevator did not work which we did not find out until we arrived. We had to walk up 5 flights of stairs with heavy luggage for a 6 day cruise. We also had to pay an additional $100 deposit which is supposed to be refunded it’s been over a week and I still have not received it. When I contacted them to ask why they gave me an email address and still have not heard anything back.

Upon arrival, I was informed my service fee was different from the current. Although my charges ended up being okay, staff was swiping my card without explaining. I elected pay at property but was charged 2 weeks before my check in. Elevator didn’t work. Bathroom sink had a slow drain. Door was super hard to close. Tv volume wasn’t correct AND there was a mysterious circle in the middle of the tv. Looked like an eye looking at us. It looked like a camera VERY uncomfortable feeling for two women in a room!

This property is a scam, and they are all liars. The room was filthy and smelled horrible, and the elevator did not work! It was the worst experience ever. I couldn't even stay and had to spend extra money on a better hotel. I would never go back!!!!!!! SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM they wouldn't even let me check out I checked in at 12:15 and was out of there by 1 am.

Hotel is close to the beach . You’re right on the strip close to every thing . It’s quite at night . The staff is very friendly. Free breakfast right down the street with vouchers you have to get from front desk before going . They have free bikes and beach chairs and towels . Room was clean, beds were comfortable. They do not have any bugs of any type . Staff very helpful. The elevator did not work but we didn’t have to walk up that many steps to our room. I have been traveling to this hotel for the last 4 years and the elevator has not been operating on any trip . So if u are disabled or can’t walk up flights of steps I would make other accommodations . Other than that they also have a restaurant on site . They hold your luggage until you can check in . They also hold your luggage after you check out until you fly out. I love this hotel and the suites . Will definitely continue to come to the beacon .

I was hurt at this property. I’m handicapped and their elevator was broken, but they refused to refund my money told me to come to the front desk the next morning to speak to the manager to make sure I wasn’t charged for the next night which they did charge me for both nights with no break even though they don’t provide a safe passage for disabled people to get to their room or a warning that they need to find other accommodations either. Then of course, there was no manager there the next day they gave me a cell phone number with an unpersonalized voicemail that I left a message on, which, of course was not returned. And no I wasn’t a Karen before I fell flat on my face after hobbling up the flight of stairs.

The most convenient place ever on South Beach! Just steps away from the beach. I loved the lemongress or smell good that airs the hotel, the shampoo, conditioner and body wash is amazing! Also, the free towels and beach chairs were a great perk! I'll be back!

Appon arrival after we checked in paid our deposit then we are told the elevator is out as we head to the room, We spoke with an employee of the restaurant on site and was told the elevator had been out of service all week long. Pretty disappointing they didn’t reach out to let us know. Also they tell you there is a complimentary breakfast At restaurant down the road but don’t bother to give you the vouchers you will need to get the breakfast. So we had to walk back to get the vouchers after sitting down to eat breakfast. Front desk said to show them are keys which was not correct. Sh Very cool old South Beach Hotel to bad they don’t communicate with you about the elevator being out or the vouchers you need for breakfast. The beds are not comfortable the pillows are hard and made our necks hurt. Would not recommend the Beacon
