Despite marketing that they have air conditioning in their website, the rooms do not have air conditioning
3.9
Aircon didn't work. Was on full, but just blows out room temperature air. Was told it would be fixed but wasn't so had to borrow a fan as far too hot to sleep.
Only a single socket vaguely close to the bed, which was used by the TV, so I had to unplug it for the fan.
Two sets of double glazed windows behind each other (which can be opened) so zero noise from outside.
Price was really good for Gamescom week however.

For the price, this hotel is excellent value. Location is ideal, just 5 minutes from the railway station in a commercial area. Rooms were clean and tidy, nothing special but more than adequate for our needs. Be careful when getting a taxi though. There are 3 Mercures in Dusseldorf, two being City Centre and Centrum. Don’t do an unnecessary tour of the city like I did.

Travelling around Germany by train so Hotel was conveniently situated

I was initially allocated a very small and very warm room with broken air con. When I said that it was not acceptable I was given a much better room. Thank you to the lady on check in for sorting this out.
The hotel does seem dated but the bed was comfortable and I slept well. The breakfast is overpriced so we ate elsewhere.
3.9
Room was small and furnishings dated for the price. They also wanted €20 for breakfast so I went to cafe down the road. Having said that it was clean and did me for the 2 nights I originally booked but when I decided to stay longer in Dusseldorf I moved to a cheaper and better hotel along the road

Very convenient for train station and trams. 15 minutes walk to old town. Hotel dining room not open for evening meals. Great breakfast. Helpful staff and nice bar.
3.9
Great place in the city centre, close to public transport, friendly staff!
3.9
Very expensive for an average hotel in a rundown district. Best aspect is it's close to the main train station. I won't be rushing back.

Excellent property

Great hotel

Nice and cute hotel, with very courteous staff, amenities were great. Building was a tad old but that's what you get for this part of the city. Overall a great experience and would recommend to family and friends.

The house keeping didn’t clean the room properly. The baby cot provided in the room was broken. We did mention all these point at the reception.
3.9
The room facilities and cleanliness were good, and the staff at the reception, reception, and bar were very kind, and I was able to spend a good holiday.

This is very good

The staff on the front desk and cleaning team are all very friendly and helpful.

Very nice and helpful staff. Able to walk to the old town and very close to the main station. I'd stay again.

I stayed in a classic single room for one night. Given the shabby condition of the room, which was reminiscent of student accommodation, it was very poor value for money.
The hotel's website states there is a complimentary mineral water and tea and coffee making facilities in the room. There was no water and only a kettle and a mug - but no coffee or tea to actually make a drink. I checked with reception who said this was correct and that there was a communal coffee machine in the lobby. What's the point of a kettle and cup in the room then?! As someone who likes to have a coffee or two before getting dressed, a coffee machine in the lobby was no use to me.
The furniture was shabby and worn and the grout in the shower required attention. Otherwise the rest was clean and the staff friendly. Wouldn't stay there again - I expected better of a Mercure hotel.

Convenient for railway station

Thankfully we only stayed here for one night, any more than that would have been unbearable. Staff were friendly enough but the room was small with limited facilities and very noisy.

Easy to get to

The suite I stayed in had some weird quirks. First, the shower was constricted to a 3 ft x 3 ft square raised about 20 cm from the floor. If you were to slip in it, you'd be at serious risk of face planting against the counter next to the shower (I know because I nearly did, the shower and floor itself were very slippery when wet).
Second, the single twin bed in my room barely had any bedding, just two pillows, a mattress cover, and a duvet. The mattress was okay but not terribly comfortable. I definitely had a budget suite! I don't know if it reflects the typical quality of their rooms, but claiming that Mercure City Center is a 4-star hotel is definitely pushing it based on what I observed.
On the plus side, the staff were very friendly and the breakfast options were top notch. Location also can't be beat. I don't know if I would stay again. As time passes I'll probably forget the critical parts of this review.

Lovely very large warm room, clean and quiet. The bed was large and comfortable, very convenient for the city with plenty bars and restaurants close by. Old town a short walk and great place for eating and drinking. Breakfast was plenty to choice for everybody and the hotel staff were very friendly and cheerful. Overall this hotel is well worth staying for a great time in Duesseldorf.

For money value you could say ok, however really need to get up to date with tv service, room was swapped on Friday night was even worse than initial room.not somewhere I would return.

Hotel staff very nice and helpful!

Would have liked more options on site.

Clean and spacious

The location is good for moving to the central railway station when we go to Messe Stadiam.

Good sized, clean room on third floor. Little noisy if the windows are open, great location not far from the train station & within easy distance of shopping/bars as well.

Very nice

Upgraded in Hotel to a Suite - absolutely wonderful
3.9
Buffet was decent, but facilities are dated.
3.9
Thanks to the front desk offering accord membership for the upgrade & the half price of abundant wide range breakfast with kind service in English. The bed is comfortable and double window against the noise on the street. However the fridge is locked 😅

Great hotel perfect location

Manager and staff are excellent. Hotel is clean and the breakfast is very good.
3.9
We stayed for a week in a privilege room which was large and comfortable. The room was cleaned every day and all the staff were extremely helpful when we needed advice etc. Our room was on the front on the 1st floor, so it did have some traffic / people noise at peak times but if you want to stay in the city you have to expect this.
Value for money this hotel was excellent and we would stay here again and worth the little extra for a privilege room.
3.9
I was there on a short city break for 2 nights.
The staff were lovely, the room was clean and it was in a good location. I got the S train from the airport (€3.10) and it was about a 10 min train journey, 5 minute walk. About a 20 minute walk to the river which was a fab place to relax and not far from the shops. I would def recommend and stay again.
3.9
There is no proper amenities in this room and there is no one from the reception put efforts to resolve your issue!!!
3.9
Pleasant greeeting at the reception. Information supplied regarding restaurant nearby. On request a taxi was ordered for an early-morning jouney to the airport.
Check-out at 3.30 am friendly and helpful.
Room was a bit too warm and there was too much traffic noise to open the window, but for my purpose - a short overnight stay - hotel was fine and I would use it again if I needed to.
3.9
Very pleasant stay
