We didn’t have a good experience with some of the staff of Vamar Resort, they just didn’t make us feel welcome.
Also, there is no WIFI or refrigerator in the rooms.

We stay 5 nights 6 days, everything on the pictures is lies, start no parking in the hotel you. Have to cross street for park wherever you can even doble line, rooms are super old no fridge no clean supplies just a little bar soap and small shampoo bathroom curtain for shower old and nasty dirty same as sink, have some weird space looks like old stove and you have a noisi room with a few machines, very very old furniture light everywhere in the room you can sleep well, food no good buffet very poor choices they flip food from midday and dinner no speciality restaurants they have one Italian but you can going you have kids Les then 13 years and fajitas restaurant jajaja no good drinks very cheap and awful cheap liquor, beach very small and ok , well my advice if you can save a little more money pls pls do it and get something better than this place we pay $1500.00 for our days it’s no cheap but we don’t spec a VIP treatment but not this. Can’t say much about employees because no much tip arround and is because the environment. Thanks

The ladies bathrooms in the lobby one of the doors in the bathroom doesn’t lock and it’s been like that for months! The whole hotel needs cosmetic work and is starting to look old.

The staff were great, especially Ninive, Samuel, Jonathan, Brenda, Antonio, and most of the bar staff actually. The pools were good and the beach was nice. The food at the marina/la villa/caracol/fajitas restaurants were delicious. I wished the wifi worked in the rooms. Our iron didn’t work but it wasn't a big deal. The beds were comfy. The nightly entertainment was good. If you want to sleep early, this is not the hotel for you. It’s pretty loud if your room is near the stairs or pool or theatre. The marina was beautiful. Enny, the tour lady, was good. She set us up with a dolphin swim and a boat tour. Both were fun. Most of the staff were friendly. I’m glad the AC worked in the room. It provided much needed relief from the hot July sun.

Location is close to the airport, the beach area not great or actually unusable. The Villas do not have internet access which is unacceptable.

I booked the hotel seeing that they were offering Villas . It was not a Villa at all, they were apartments in a building . The apartments facing the sea are private ones and the hotel doesn’t rent them . You will get something far from where you can’t see the sea. The hotel looks old, my room didn’t have charging poings for my cell phone and the ones they had was broken , had to charge it in my bathroom . No internet in the room even during this age . And my toilet get clogged as the plumbing seems old .
It’s a resort from the 1970’s that forgot to update itself
.
The staff are pleasant , they all seem happy with their job and were ready to help .Food and drinks are ok .
Will not stay here again .

It was a pretty average hotel if you are on a budget. Hotel staff was amazing but the property seemed a bit out dated. The phone and TV in our room did not work. The bathrooms in the common areas were a bit dirty and there is no internet in the rooms.

The A/C in first room stop working the first night therefore I had to move to another room late at night. Mr. Ramon, the head waiter, did not allow me to dining at one of the speciality restaurant because I was wearing dress short but was letting other patrons dining with swim trunks.

Vamar Vallarta is the only place I’ve been willing to stay in Puerto Vallarta. The location, staff, and hotel are great. I love the more mature atmosphere.

Great price, decent rooms. Options for dining, but food not great and you have to be at the front desk by 7am to reserve a restaurant. Not much for the kids to do besides swim. No activities that we were aware of. Felt clean and safe. Nearby stores in walking decent- kind of cool to explore. Felt safe.

I’ve been to Mexico 5 times and this was the worst hotel I’ve stayed at. The food was so terrible we had to eat off the resort which was unfortunate considering we paid for an all inclusive. There is only 2 dinner options buffet or Italian but no kids allowed at Italian so we were limited to the buffet only. We tried the seafood restaurant which was lunch only it was beyond gross. Seen 5 cockroaches outside our room and it was very hard to communicate as most of the staff did not speak or understand English. We noticed a LOT of people checking in and checking out the same or very next day with complaints. The rooms were very plain, nothing in them not even a lamp by the night table. No mini fridge no bottle water, it was a complete waste of money. Expedia tried several times to get a refund from the hotel so we could stay somewhere else and the hotel denied the refund. DO NOT stay here.

The location is fantastic and the accessibility to both the beach and the marina was great. The service on the other hand was nothing to brag about. Check in was just that - they checked you in, gave you a key and that was it. No welcoming smiles, no welcome drink, no help with luggage or finding your room. We've come to PV several times to other resorts and never has the service been so unimpressive. Our room attendant did not replenish any toiletries and our phone in our room didn't work so every time we needed something we had to go downstairs to the desk and then tell them and back to the room and wait for the amenities to be delivered. Once would have been forgivable but this was literally every day of our 7 night stay. In fact, when we first arrived in the room there weren't even towels. I hate to even write reviews but this time around we brought it to the front desks attention everyday after the 3rd day of no amenities and still repeatedly did not get what we needed, therefore, here is my honest review.

Horrible buffet and breadfast and rooms and bathrooms not updated

The location of this resort is stunning, especially with all the yachts along the marina. However, there was little to no daily games/activities on the resort, only 4 employees spoke English which was very challenging if you couldn’t find them and had to ask any other employee. The cleaning crew daily forgot to give us hand towels, shower towels and face cloths. There was small layers of mold in the grout and shower head in the bathroom. The view is what makes the resort nice, but other then that it was quite below any other resorts I’ve ever been to in Puerto Vallarta and I am a yearly traveller to PV.

1.- There was a glass missing in the bathroom that was not replaced even though I reported it several times.
2.- lack of waiter service at the pool.
3.- the drinks were generally bad
4.- the food was very good

Our experience was great. Friendly staff, good food, really nice pools. Bartenders were hardworking and gave us great drinks.
We did the cheapest room, and you could hear people walking by (windows aren’t sound proof). Our stay would’ve been much better if we had booked a balcony room facing the pool (worth the extra cost).
I would stay here again… in a balcony room.

We stay for 5 days. Not much dinning options.out of 2 restaurants only 1 with family other one was adult only Italian food. Not much English speaking stuff so hard to communicate. Mexican restaurant you can’t order multiple appetizer, meal or dessert. Pre made menu and small portions served. For tortillas you have to keep asking only bring 1 or 2 at time. Buffet was average. Snack place have pizza on menu but never available to ordered. And lot of item from menu not available all time.

Where to start? I've been to PV 3 times, the west coast 4 times, and Mexico in general 7 times. 5 of those visits were within the last 9 years.
This was, hands down, the worst resort I've ever stayed at. For starters, the rooms look nothing like the photos. They're either from another Vamar resort or stolen off Google. The rooms were *extremely* basic, no wifi, a sliding deck door that was broken, a window with a bright light outside of it that had no curtain or blind for it, a toilet that barely flushed, a shower that was clogged and suffered from random drops in water pressure and temperature, dead cockroaches left in the bathroom ceiling lamp cover, and thick dust *everywhere*. One couple we met even had mold all over their bathroom when they checked in.
Then there was the god awful facilities and staff. First, the only place with complementary wifi was in the lobby with a tiny seating area for about 15 people. The coffee they offered in the lobby was practically just slightly brown water, *if* they even actually made any - half the time there was no coffee, or sugar, or cream, or mugs. You also were only *ever* allowed one free bottle of water per person in your room. There were supposed to be free refill stations but they were always empty - but you could *buy* another bottle of water at the front desk. Buffet was unsanitary and staff rarely took drink orders. And as soon as you check out, they cut your bracelet - No facility access unless you pay hourly. Horrible.

Lots of activity for the kids, pools ocean side and harbour side. Friendly staff and large rooms

Not sure about all the negative reviews. I guess it all depends on what you want. The only thing I could see is the rooms are dated, but were clean and comfortable and everything worked. For us, thats's all that matters because we don't spend a lot of time in our room. The grounds and pools are clean and nice. The service was beyond excellent and polite. The buffet was fine with fresh grill options the nights we ate there. To us this resort was budget friendly so we could go out to some of our favorite restaurants at the marina. The location is excellent being only a few steps from the marina and fishing docks. Having a marina side and ocean side was great also, the best of both worlds. Under a three minute walk between the two. If you are looking for high end furnishings in your room then this may not be the place for you but if you want a nice place to stay with great service, excellent location for a fun time in Puerto then I would say yes. We had a superior balcony room with great views of the marina and boats going in and out.

The place need some TLC its a bit run down, but the food and staff super good , Antonio at the bar pool was excellent, Enrique, Gustavo, Maria, everyone made us feel so special , service was really good.

Very unorganized staff and not very friendly (other than our house keeper)
Very limited food options, bar facilities were terrible. No bar poolside service other than occasionally around the beach side pools.
No wifi in the rooms, no beverages or fridges in rooms either.
Great location beside the Marina to go and eat there.
