A nice enough overnight stay to attend a 40th birthday celebration. Looking at the hotel interior I would guess it was built in the 1980's and has not had much ( if anything ) done to it since. It is tidy, warm and perfectly adequate, simply dated. Our T.V did not work but this was a small issue for us. We heard from other guests that this was an issue for them also.

Really friendly team, great food and very comfortable room.

We chose an executive room and it was spacious and very quiet. The room was well appointed and the bed was very comfortable.

No staff at reception on arrival, no staff at spa in the morning but very helpful once found. Room was clean and warm. The spa was an added bonus. Good value for money.

1 ½ hour wait for the room to check in. We did get a complimentary drinks at the bar but I had to ask when the room would be ready ready. Only to be told " oh yes your room is now ready" if I hadn't asked I'd still be sat waiting.
The evening meal leaves a lot to be desired.. fish & chips were cod but the batter tasted like it was frozen supermarket cod in batter. & The portion of mushy peas weren't even a spoon full. My wife's chicken skewers were over cooked & bland & the bread it was served on was rock hard...
The good bits now... The room was tidy & even though the king-size bed was 2 singles pushed together it was very comfortable.
The breakfast was very nice & being a buffet breakfast you could get as much as you like.
The best bit was the access to the swimming pool, hot tub & sauna which were very nice & made the stay worthwhile.

Hotel really doesnt live up to the prestigeous presentation you see upon entering. Ill start with good points of staff who are friendly and welcoming. The rooms themselves are generally comfortable. However after checking in and making our way to the room the first thing is the lifts are very shabby and dated. Then walking down the corridor to our room it is litered with people leaving either empty bottles or dirty mugs/glasses outside their rooms. Now into the room which is fairly basic. On par with the likes of Premier Inn etc. Nothing particularly bad but certainly could do with a little decorating spruce up. First annoyance however is the lack of plug sockets both sides of the bed. Then onto the one double plug on one side has USB sockets built in but neither worked. The phone in the room didnt work. The TV would turn on at random intervals so unplugged it. The power socket where the kettle plugs into was dead and didnt work (yes i made sure it was on and even tested with another device). Shower while powerful didnt drain fast enough so started flooding the floor. Heated towel rail didnt work and nor did the extractor fan. Shower basin was stained and not fully clean. Walls seem paper thin as could hear neighbouring rooms easy. All in all cant recomend even with the facilities on offer. Food menu is limited and lacking available times to eat. If visiting the area again would stay at the Marstons 2 minutes down the road instead where we went for food.

Stayed one night on our way to Cadbury World which was approx. 25 minutes away by car. Got this at a reduced price so good value. Family room was very large, with tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer and iron. Bathroom a little dated but functional with heated towel rail and plenty of towels. Swimming pool and spa area nice, with towels provided. Swimming lessons taking place which restricted full use of the pool but didn't affect our enjoyment of it. Hot tub temp quite high, not really suitable for young children which was ok. Steam room and sauna not used on this occasion. Food nice, bit pricey but tasty. Excellent service from all staff who were friendly and approachable. Breakfast was fabulous with lots of choice and plenty of food there for everyone. Lots of free parking and open access wifi. Golf course and gym not used but looked fabulous.

This is a great hotel. It could be modernised a bit but overall I thought it was excellent.

The spa pool was a real treat : can be busy and noisy at family splash time though!

Lovely hotel. Good service. Good facilities. Lovely room. Small hick up on check, but sorted quickly and efficiently. Would definitely stay there again.

Room was in the eaves, meaning that we had to duck to get into bed or to use the bedside table.
Breakfast could have been lovely - the breakfast room is too small for the number of guests/golf visitors. They ran out of eggs by 9:30am, with white toast as the only bread optional

Spacious quiet room (2nd floor). Small pool, sauna, steam room & changing facilities good. Bar food & service good.

Good hotel and base for visiting local area, and the pool & spa area was a great way to relax or burn away a few calories. The Forge Mill Needle Museum a short stroll away was well worth a visit

Good value hotel lovely pool and great bar overlooking the golf course staff are warm and friendly food at dinner was excellent and breakfast was quite good
only downside was the disappointing room we needed a twin but apparently they didn’t have any nice ones left as we booked quite late

Overall great for our family. We all loved the pool access. Not as close to Arrow Vale park as website suggests.

Nice enough rooms but a bit 'bare' and functional. Family rooms are large - pretty good value for money if you are renting these family rooms. Our room phone didn't work and the wifi was pretty unreliable though. Love the pool - but it does tend to get crowded in the afternoons/early evenings during summertime. Also has a jacuzzi, sauna and steam room as well as a well-equipped gym. Friendly service with a smile. Of course, lovely golf course - good to go walking around too if you're brave enough! Breakfast is full-English but not much else - i.e. served fried eggs, sausages, mushrooms, hash browns, bacon and baked beans, bread or toast, but no croissants when we were there (and we were well in time for breakfast), mixed 'fresh' fruit were pretty dismal (pretty overripe/off actually!), yoghurt, a few tinned juices and cereals, no cold cuts or cheeses. Can ask for fresh coffee. All-in-all, not a bad place and good value overall.

Loved my stay for my nephew’s wedding. Stayed the two nights costing £187, breakfast was separate despite several other wedding guests paying the same amount but breakfast was included. When asked at reception about I was given 4 different reasons this could. If I’m totally honest the breakfast was not that good. I’ve had much better, but my weekend over so it’s no longer a problem you’ve had my booking and payment To be honest doubt I’ll be staying again. Would recommend?? Yes but find out up front what you getting with your booking.

This is a lovely hotel spa golf complex where the staff can’t do enough for you

Property is handily situated to serve local industry. Unfortunately it was probably the hottest day of the year and the rooms have no Aircon, just a small desk fan. Staff are always friendly and welcoming but sadly the evening meal was not. The burger was so burnt and overcooked it was practically inedible.

We enjoyed this hotel because it was conveniently located to our location and our excursions. The pool and the spa facilities were perfect for our children and provided for extra fun in the evening. Friendly staff and the food was really great in the restaurant.

I recently had the absolute misfortune of enduring a very disappointing experience at this hotel. Despite having a confirmed reservation and arriving on time, I was refused a room.
Furthermore, the front desk manager and staff were rude and unhelpful and did not offer any reasonable explanation or solution to the problem. I even tried speaking with the manager, but my concerns were dismissed without any proper assistance.
I was visiting for an event being held at the same hotel and due to their whopping incompetence I had to travel to a shady looking “sister hotel” and missed my event that I had spent hundreds of pounds for.
To add insult to injury they didn’t seem or say sorry in the slightest and continued to blame hotels.com. After 2 days of back and forth with probably the world’s most rudest front desk manager I got a half hearted refund for the money but wasn’t compensated for my emotional distress and inconvenience that befuddled the whole experience for me.
This experience caused significant inconvenience and stress, as I had to scramble to find alternative accommodation late in the evening. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone not even my worst enemy due to their lack of professionalism and poor customer service.
Avoid this place and hotels.com like hot dog droppings if you want a reliable and hassle-free stay.

Stayed on business, nice hotel, friendly staff just think rooms are a little tired and need updating.

Very nice place, most staff friendly. Just little things missing such as WiFi code and more plug sockets needed

We have stayed at this hotel many times in the past but this time we felt that it looked a bit jaded. The rooms had faults like ceiling fan had no control knob and the carpet did not fit properly. Service and staff were excellent but we were a little bit disappointed overall.

The rooms and bars are lovely. If you are thinking of staying at a spa DO NOT stay here. The spa was a total let down and is desperate need of a refurbishment. The health inspectors should shut the place down. No lockers worked, floor tiles broken in mens changing rooms and pool area. Jacuzzi, pool had broken draining slats everywhere. Shower areas smelt of sewage plus not one shower had shampoo, conditioner or shower gel. Absolutely disgusting.

Pleasant stay staff was very friendly and professional. Peace and quiet perfect place to unwind after a long day especially the leisure club with hot tub pool sauna and steam room ! Would definitely visit again to get away!

Overall good however there was a sewage like smell within the bathroom and extractor fan did not work

A good hotel with great facilities making it a perfect place to unwind after meetings in the area.

Disappointed with the room, it was listed as an "executive double" but I have been in larger and more modern Premier inn rooms. The decor and fittings were dated, also there were hairs in the bathroom. I understand that at £160 for one night room only you are also paying for the spa, pool etc but I expected a better room.

Easy to reach from the motorway.
Clean and tidy.
Staff friendly and helpful.
Property well maintained with nice spacious room with great bed and shower.
3.0 / 5.0
Well at the outset this hotel promises much, the reality is lacking. Staff were very disengaged and often too busy scrolling on their phones to pay any attention or give any sense of hospitality. The room was clean but tired decor, with bits of rust in the bathroom, limited plugs, and switched that didn't work. The pool was decent for what we needed, though limited times to swim with children was unnecessary. The steam room was not particularly clean, gripped the edges and lifted a line of sludge.
Chose not to eat or have breakfast as the additional cost was close to half the cost of the room for the duration of our stay. Perhaps an ideal business location but not the most rested location with bright lights outside each window.
4.0 / 5.0
Lovely rural feeling property, large room, pool facility great overall and for children, could do with a deep clean in some areas. Food was very satisfactory for the price for breakfast, would definitely return.

I stayed at this hotel with my boyfriend for a 2 night weekend spa break. The hotel is beautiful and has everything you could need. The room was cosy and the bed was very big and comfortable. The room in itself was very clean and we had a lovely view of the golf course. Can’t comment on the restaurant/ bar as we drove into Redditch and had food there as all hotel options were quite pricey. We used the gym and the spa facilities which were all excellent. The staff were very friendly and always made the effort to speak to us.
The only negative thing from this stay was the cleanliness of the female changing rooms by the pool. I fully appreciate this is a female changing room, and women’s hair does malt… a lot. However there was clumps of hair all over the floor through the whole room and the floor was quite dirty. I advise you bring flip flops! One day, all the showers had all run out of shower gel and at one point I went into the shower cubicle and there was a used female sanitary product stuck to the shower wall (I understand this is not the hotel’s fault and was the fault of whoever left it there) but did not contribute to a hygienic feel. As well as this, many of the free lockers in the changing room didn’t work/lock which other women were complaining about whilst trying to find an empty one.
I would recommend this hotel as the good outweighs the bad. We did enjoy ourselves however if I were to return I would definitely bring flip flops for the pool area.
