The Hotel was superb all the staff were so pleasant, and food was excellent, definitely one to go back too.
Very difficult to find any negative comments.
Nadine on front desk was most helpful when I had a problem 👍😘
Paternosta was pretty little resort with wonderful beaches.

We stayed here for a night after dining at Wolfgat. If I'm honest, I don't feel the need to visit Paternoster again but if you do, then this is a cute little hotel to stay at. There are 2 small sized pools and the rooms are pretty small too but the service and breakfast were both great.

The room was clean and a pleasure to stay in. For the price I paid I need to add that the refreshments in the room can be free of charge - please consider.

We stayed for one night with our daughter and son in law. The hotel is gorgeous and the rooms very comfortable. The only complaint was no feather pillows (our personal preference) but the half/half pillows were ok. We did not eat dinner at the hotel but enjoyed breakfast in the morning, where sadly there was no freshly squeezed fruit juice which is a shame. Overall it was a lovely stay.

Beautiful villa, exceptionally clean and glamorous. Not in the hotel, and surrounded by local villagers and community.

2 night stopover. Lovely location and integrated into the local community. Super hotel with excellent facilities and impressive decor. Room was nicely equipped and provided extra hospitality. An awesome new experience. Service, staff and hospitality super friendly and welcoming.

This is our third time staying at Abalone. A wonderful boutique hotel that delivers a great experience every time.

The hotel has the most beautiful views of the bleach and the sunset every evening. The staff are so willing, friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend staying here.

The eproperty has certainly the best vibe in town. Beds are comfy but facilities could be better maintained. Overall a very nice stay but there are major detractors like the crack house next door with loud neighbors and paper-thin walls between rooms, and finally ajck hammering at the pool next door midday.. Staff was very receptive to feedback.
I would stay here over Strandloper when I return. Very safe and secure and very down to earth which is what one wants in paternoster.

Beautiful hotel, lack of visible management. Room was not made till we returned in the evening (on checking this was not their Covid protocol but oversight ). The location is sublime.

Villa 2 has an exceptional setting with views straight onto the beach. Beautifully appointed - loved the art-deco style. Perfectly clean. Great amenities. A few seconds' walk from the beach. It felt opulent and luxurious. Breakfasts at the main hotel were great except the service very slow with only one staff member serving everyone.

An amazing villa done out really tastefully. The pool could do with a new paint job though. View is stunning. Breakfast was great and staff very friendly. Will definately stay there again

We arrived in Paternoster during lockdown level 3 in South Africa with none of the beaches open - therefore it was wonderful to stay in accommodation that had a private pool. The accommodation was beautifully decorated and had 2 en-suite bedrooms, with both leading out onto the pool. For self catering accommodation is missed a few items like a bread knife, any sharp knife and breakfast bowls. There were no towels for the pool so we used our bath towels, the whole property is gently worn, especially when you look at the patio furniture with the West Coast sun and wind taking its toll on these items. The accommodation is centrally located just behind Gaatjie restaurant and within 50 meters of Wolgat restaurant, both being closed while we stayed there. We will have to go back when we can actually walk on the beach.

Fantastic villa for a romantic getaway for 2, two couples, or a family of 4. Beautiful views of the bay, super comfy beds. The place smells AMAZING ! Love the scents used. The amenities are great too and we loved the decor. There is a big outdoor BBQ where you can have a wonderful braai paired with tranquil views of the ocean.
Only thing we were disappointed by was the swimming pool was broken and we were not allowed to use it (We booked into the Pool Villa...). Each bedroom is missing its TV and the area it is supposed to be has ugly visible cables.
The units themselves were spotless and well cleaned & sanitised. We appreciated it and felt very safe from a health & COVID perspective. I would recommend general maintenance though - the pool villa needs some good upkeep.

The communication was handled perfectly with this hotel to change our dates.
I would recommend this hotel to any one.

Stunning breakfast. Staff super friendly and efficient.

Everything out the kitchen is below standard. Leftovers from previous mornings buffet are added to and put out again the next day resulting in slimy salmon and dry cold meats.
Was ill after eating oysters for dinner. Sent burned Kingklip back and received dried out Tempura Prawns as replacement.
Staff friendly but won't be going back as the standard isn't near what it was 2 years ago.

From the moment we arrived to the minute we left we felt so looked after. Ryno at the front desk could not do enough for us - and even took us out to our restaurants for dinner both evenings we stayed there - and came back to pick us up too - such amazing and friendly service! We stayed in Villa number one, which was a lot of fun! Beautiful views, peaceful surroundings and nice and sheltered from the Paternoster wind. We would not hesitate to rebook to stay here again, only next time we would definitely book to stay for more nights. A BIG thank you to Ryno and all the staff for a wonderful stay! 😊

Lovely staff. Great breakfast. Comfy bed.
But... TV in the room didn't work, and it wasn't fixed, despite us reporting it. Bathroom was barely big enough to swing a cat, and the shower was awful. Hairdryer plug didn't fit any of the sockets, and there was no adapter.
Overall, a nice place, but no more than 3 stars.

wonderful comfortable, quirky and luxurious hotel. The location in Paternoster is lovely and the rooms are tastefully and artistically decorated with lovely art and antiques. It was the best night sleep I had in ages. quiet and peaceful locale.

My wife & I wanted to get away from the city and just veg out for a couple of days - no activities, no hikes, just pure relaxation. General Manager Leigh, Assistant Manager Raymond and their attentive staff made sure that our every need was fulfilled. Our massage experience at the spa could not have been better, topped off with a gourmet dinner at Reuben's, the hotel restaurant.
A short walk to the beach and its rocky bays (we had an entire small bay to ourselves), Abalone is well situated for a seaside getaway.
The hotel is built around a courtyard with a calming water feature. I could have spent a whole day there just reading from the book collection in the adjacent adjacent library, but got tempted away to the Jacuzzi on the upper deck, with its views across the bay.
This one's definitely a keeper and we'll return soon.

There's not a lot to do in this small fishing village, but it's a great place to visit to just chill out.
