The location is great, very convenient and close to a lot of things—very centralized. You just gotta get past the 77 stairs. Has an amazing view, and the terrace is really nice. Not sure if all/most hotels in Amalfi are like this because of how old/preserved they are, the “breakfast” is more like a continental breakfast with some pastries, cereal, juice, coffee and yogurt, the shower doors weren’t sealed over the tub, so the water leaked all over the floor, when I notified the front desk and requested it be moped up, she said she would ask-it never got moped up it just ended up air drying. They charge for extra towels, they don’t have beach towels available to take down to the beach, the ac doesn’t work well, luckily we were able to have the window open often just beware of mosquitoes. If you’re looking for a place just to sleep and shower with a centralized location, this is a good spot. If you prefer a place to spend some time in while also exploring, this may not be the hotel for you

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Excellent room, comfortable bed and fantastic view of the sea

Beautiful room overlooking the sea. Wonderful staff and very close to everything. Highly recommended.

We arrived by night and booked the room with sea view. We were so happy seeing this. And you can directly look down to the only bar in Amalfi which is only a 5 minutes walk away. The bathroom was super nice and the view while having breakfast as well. The only thing I wanted to mention is the breakfast possibilities. If you’re vegan or vegetarian there aren’t many options and the only option is white bread or cake. But later we found out it’s pretty common in Italy to have such a breakfast, so we don’t mind that. Altogether it’s a super nice and beautiful hotel where you can enjoy the view and be directly in the city.

We stayed here 4 nights and the air conditioner did not work a single one. We slept with the windows open but it was still very hot. The bathroom lights were too dim, we did not receive shampoo/shower gel packets on the first day we arrived but maybe it was overlooked since we never mentioned it and we actually got them on the following days. The location was great, the views from our room and the shared patio were amazing. The breakfast was pretty good and the staff was friendly imo. The hotel was small but pretty cute. The 77 stairs is normal in Amalfi , not too big of a deal honestly as this hotel is in a prime location with multiple restaurants/shops nearby. I would stay again in this place if they fix the AC.

Good spot close to the beach, but the AC was not working and room was full of ants, and wasn’t given shampoo & body wash packet on one day or toilet paper.

Don’t waste your money at this place, stay at a different hotel. Air conditioning was not working and staff couldn’t care less. They were extremely disinterested and unfriendly. Hotel was in a loud area which made sleeping at night difficult too - needed an open window with A/C broken. Breakfast wasn’t great either compared to other hotels I have stayed at in Italy.

Perfect location! Great views and morning breakfast had plenty of options! Room was nice and tidy and a good size for one!

Good central location, very quiet during the night and early mornings. Clean.Very basic breakfast. No milk alternatives.

Staff was helpful. Parking guy was on time. Luggage service was a bit delayed but it is understandable as people have to carry you bags 77 steps up to the B&B.
Tipping very appreciated. At check out car was waiting at plaza on time. Luggage was a bit delayed as one guy have to carry two bags from B&B down to plaza. That was ok and we have to call to reception for status. Nice place.

Great customer service. I was able to easily communicate with the staff. The porters to assist with our luggage was greatly appreciated.

The location was nice overlooking the harbour in Amalfi but the staff were unfriendly and half the channels on the TV didn’t work.

It was difficult to find the hotel and the room was a not up to standard because the aircon did not work and the linen was old and torn.

Nice and close to port and plazas. Nice terrace with water views. Breakfast good. Staff friendly and helpful.

This hotel was beautiful. The views were superb overlooking the sea.
It had a fantastic shower with full water pressure I’m used to back home. Plenty of hot water. Nice TV and table and chair in front of the big window.
The check-in was east once I arrived. Chiara was very nice, and even gave me a dinner recommendation which turned out delicious. She and the lady at check out were both so nice and assured me that holding my bags after checkout was no problem. This saved me so much hassle.
The flight of steps isn’t bad at all, they are wide steps so you can easily take breaks as you need. In fact, the only trouble I had was finding the entrance to the steps. You must enter a narrow alleyway that leads to a small Piazza. From there you will find the bottom of the stairs. From that point the rest of the trip was so fantastic.
Grazie Mille a Hotel Croce di Amalfi. You made my trip possible. :)

We liked our double room "Italian style" with seaview. It was a stunning view whereas also a bit limited due to another house and it was spacious enough and sufficient for us. It was sometimes a bit noisy by night when there are many persons still on the street. The window does not close very tight. The hotel could do more to protect the environment and minimize small plastic sachets of shampoo or individual portions wrapped in plastic on the breakfast buffet. The staff was very friendly and helpful, we appreciate your efforts! Be prepared to "climb" 77 steps to the hotel but you are in the midst of Amalfi's life and close to all.

Hotel was very close to the main square in Sorrento though about a 72 stair climb. We had a nice view of the water from our room. Would likely stay again

The location is great for the town and the waterfront. The hotel is up a long staircase but that’s how the locals live in Amalfi and adds to the charm. Breakfast was really good and the view from the outside terrace is incredible.

The view was beautiful, the rooms very comfortable,
Access was difficult, with 77 steps to get there.

What a lovely hotel! We had a beautiful room with a breathtaking view. The bed was super comfy room very clean. Breakfast was great. Yes there are a few stairs to walk up to get to the hotel but they aren’t hard. Your in Amalfi there are stairs everywhere.

The breakfast was incredible and the view was amazing. Unfortunately the reception was not helpful and closed at 8 pm. You have to climb more than a few steps to get here but the view is worth it; may not be suitable for the elderly and definitely not wheelchair accessible. Thank you to the breakfast and cleaning lady she was the sweetest! The room was also clean and a good size but we paid for one with a view. Overall, the view is what makes this hotel exceptional.

Hotel Croce Di Amalfi has a great view but the rooms need updating. Breakfast was good too we ate on the beautiful balcony overlooking the city.

We liked the place just the shower was challenging with 1 door missing and a shower curtain that clogged the drain.

At this hotel I suppose it matters what’s important to you. My husband and I recently stayed there for three nights. We were on a lengthy vacation and had numerous pieces of luggage and there was a 64 step climb to the hotel. For that reason I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re older, have mobility issues or just have a lot of bags. However, the view was absolutely beautiful. Check in was easy and the room was spacious and clean. There were limited toiletries available and the shower leaked all over the floor every time we used it. Leading to the balcony were two very tall beautiful doors. However, only one opened. This was disappointing because we were going to place two chairs in front of the doors to enjoy the view. The breakfast had indoor and outdoor seating again with beautiful views. There was plenty to eat every morning and they offered cappuccino, espresso and tea.

Overall a good stay. Big warning is that it is about 75 stairs to get to this hotel. You will want to hire the guy to bring up your bags.
The room was standard. Nothing special. The air did not work very well so we kept the window open most days and nights.
The eating area outside has a pretty good view of the water and the hotel is close to all of the attractions (restaurants, port, beach).
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was pretty good.

The many steps to the property require a porter to carry suitcases. Cost is €5 per case. This property will not suit elderly or infirm. Too many steps. There is no 24 hour front desk. Staff were friendly. Place is well maintained.

Hotel close to all facilities in Amalfi, but can be quite noisy due to main road below. Great view of sea from our window. Our room which was advertised as a junior suite with hot tub was a little disappointing - it amounted to a large room with traditional old style furniture and bathroom with shower over jacuzzi bath which had black mould in the jets. Needless to say we did not use it!
Breakfast was better than previous reviewers had indicated: bread ham cheese eggs croissants, cakes, jams etc. Think its important to get in for breakfast early. On our last day we went in half way through the time slot and had to ask for bread etc to be topped up. The English spoken by the staff is limited which was a problem when asking for help/advise at reception. We had a late flight and there was no shower or changing facilities available after we had checked in and our suit cases were left in a public area until we collected them after our day Amalfi. We had a good stay in Amalfi but would probably not stay in this hotel again if returning.

This is a hidden gem in a great coastal city. One block from the ferries to Capri and other coastal cities. In October it was warm and not crowded with tourists, except when the cruise ships were docked.
