Easy to find and easy to access, with everything you need for a short stay (microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster, hairdryer, etc.). It's a straightforward drive to Ringwood town centre where there's ample parking at the Waitrose/Sainsbury's carparks, and the town has a number of cafes and bakeries. Also very close to Moors Valley County Park, which is a great wood and open space.

Excellent stay for our trip to The New Forest. The room was cosy, had everything that was needed from table n chairs, two comfy chairs, very comfy bed and pillows. Iron and board, towels, wash flannel, all wash/cleaning equipment, mini cooker, toaster, pint milk in fridge. Everything was perfect. I would say though that coyld have done with a better iron as it didn't seem to iron properly. Apart from that the stay was excellent. Would definately recommend.

Very clean, spacious, modern room for two. Lots of little nice touches, like there was a pint of fresh milk left in the fridge for us on arrival, disposable earplugs provided to block out your snoring partner/friend, extra bath towel in wardrobe just in case. Beautiful surroundings.

Good self contained unit. Well appointed kitchen, good shower room, comfortable bed, plenty of space. Recently redecorated and very clean. Would stay again.

The property is located in a secluded location with short drive from local amenities. We really liked the surroundings and it was easy to check-in. Would definitely stay at the place again and recommend to anyone looking for something different other than a typical stay at a hotel.

Love the set up of the room and the breakfast hampers are genius no need to have to be upat a certain time. Great concept. Mattresses could probably do with updating as not the comfiest and certainly done its service to varuous weights and shapes.

It was a one night stay, we received instructions the day before on how to gain entry to the property via a keysafe, The room was very clean and tidy and had a small kitchenette that came in very handy, We had a lovely continental breakfast delivered warm to us in the morning, We had a really nice time

Really nice stay, nice, clean room, quiet and peaceful. The shower was extremely hot and wasn’t that easy to control and the kitchen area was very small but didn’t negatively impact our stay. Would definitely book again.

Very clean and welcoming. Attractive rooms, excellent breakfast. The only slight down side is getting out onto the road at busy times. The site line to the right is a bit short and some of the commuters don't understand what 40 mph means. Trim the bushes a bit? But it is my favourite place to stay when I'm working in Ferndown

My partner and I visited Petherton Cottage recently, whilst passing through the new forest.I myself had made the mistake of thinking Petherton Cottage was actually in the new forest; it isnt, but is only a 10 minute drive from it.Besides my mistake of location, we had an enjoyable stay.The host was very attentive and I cant criitise the service.I thought the selections of teas and coffees were fantastic and the use of the microwave useful, especially with a two year old.My only criticism, all be it, my opinion; is that if the Hotel Inspector had visited, she would have had something to say about the carpet, which felt and looked as though it needed a really good clean.Also the bathroom was very dated and the whole place felt like it needed a sprucing up, including the outside too.However, this is only one opinion and it was reasonably priced so I guess you get what you pay for.x

Very nice little hotel, clean and quiet with good parking & excellent wifi. It was suitable for someone like myself travelling on my own, as it felt safe and secure and small enough not to be overwhelming. Marcus was a great host who was very welcoming.

Very nice all round hotel only thing that let it down was the shower pressure was so weak was unusable really was warned at start of our stay but did not expect it to be that bad. Would happily stay again once repaired.

I very much enjoyed staying at Petherton Cottage. The hosts were warm, welcoming and accommodating right from the minute that I walked through the door. I can hardly think of anything additional that I could have asked for with the room which spacious with a feel of home away from home. This was topped with a number of good options on a great breakfast
