My husband and I had a great stay. Rooms were clean, staff was friendly and location was great. Wifi was a bit spotty.

I just think it was not worth the money we paid. Rooms smell and give you an overall impression of being old

We stayed for a few nights. The location was great, the staff was kind and helpful, and the room was comfortable and clean. Our room was on the top floor, and it was very quiet.
Some reviews were negative because there was no AC. Well... This is a relatively small hotel in a European city; of course, there won't be an AC! But the room was equipped with fans, and we barely needed them. During the day, we were out and about, and at night, the fan was more than enough (we didn't even use it every night). So, this is a lovely place to stay in Munich, and if we come back, we'll definitely book it again!

The hotel is good, but if you go in the summer months beware there’s no ac!

We were able to walk to almost everything wr wanted to see. For those things that were too far to walk to, we could easily walk to the bus, tram, and subway.

This hotel was great. It’s centrally located and walkable to Marienplatz and the surrounding area. Also close to transportation. The rooms are small, but nice. Staff is very kind. We had a garden-side room and it was very quiet. However others had street-side and it was a bit noisy.

Good location and close to metro. Staff were friendly and helpful. No air con which made room quite hot but not unbearable. But noisy if we left window open.

Hotel in good location. Room small, bathroom tiny!!!

Centrally located and close to underground and tram terminals.
The rooms were clean. There was no air conditioning, but we had cool weather that week, so it wasn't an issue. It might be an issue in warm weather.
Walkable to town centre ( 12mins) and subway ( 3 mins)
Staff all very friendly.

Really nice hotel with great friendly staff who were very helpful from the moment we arrived. Great location in a side street that is only a short stroll from Marienplatz.
The rooms were comfortable and had everything we needed for a short break.

What to say ? Easy and efficient check in/out. The room was slightly old. No fridge or safe and fairly used furniture. However beds are very comfy. Now, the breakfast was great. Nice and delicious set up and the kitchen staff is friendly, smiling and serviceminded. The location is good close to the center, however expect a little noise from the street. With a little renovation this hotel would score 5 stars I would say. Would we go again ? Indeed we would, Altmünchen gets the job done.

We enjoyed our stay, close in proximity to dinning locations & transportation. Only draw back is the walk up the steps, they have a small lift we used primarily for just hauling our luggage up and down. Would recommend this location for your stay in Munich.

Accommodation was great. Hotel breakfast was easy and affordable.

We stayed in this hotel for 4 days during Oktoberfest and it was in a great location. Very close to the subway and lots of restaurants, shops, convenience stores nearby.
The hotel is older, but we found the rooms very charming and they were clean. There is no AC, so staying here in the summer could be uncomfortably hot, as it was we slept with the windows open all night.
Staff were friendly and spoke English. There is only one elevator that really only fits two people at a time, but again we found it quite charming. I would recommend to stay here as long as you don't have mobility issues.

Altmünchen is within easy walking distance of the Sendlinger Tor U-Bahn station, which is only one stop from the main Munich train station. Also within easy walking distance of many sites in old Munich. We had a room for 3, which was cozy, but worked fine for our sleeping purposes. Front desk staff was always present, friendly, and helpful. Only word of caution is, there are many sirens from fire and police vehicles due to the close proximity to a fire station, but with widows closed, it's not very noticable. I'd love to stay at Hotel Altmünchen again.

It was an amazing property, staff, and location. The best place to stay in Munich.

clean hotel, helpful staff, good breakfast at 15 Euros extra charge.

The front desk guy was very rude upon check-in. No A/C in the room and the property didn’t look like it did online

Advertised that there was airconditioning but sadly the only thing was a standing fan to move the air around. Was somewhat stuffy

We stayed here for 2 nights in April and enjoyed our stay. The hotel is centrally located and we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. It was about a 15-20 minute walk to the Marienplatz and 15 minute walk to the Hop on Hop off bus. Our room was clean and comfortable. It faced the back of the building and was quiet. Breakfast was excellent! A varied assortment of many different items. Breads, meats, cheese, eggs, sausage, cereal, fruit, yogurt.

We chose this hotel because of it's close proximity to transport and nightlife

Very traditional non-chain hotel right in the center of old Munich. within a walkable mile to Marienplatz, Oktoberfest, the tram/bus lines, shopping and restaurants. We liked the location and the hominess. Staff was friendly and let us keep our luggage there on check out day for a while. Hotel room was ready early too.
As with older, charming places things were a bit small: The room, the bathroom, the elevator. Overall a great place to stay.

This was an excellent property. It is quaint. I liked the location and much of what we wanted to do was walkable. The only thing to be aware of is that the elevator is tiny, I mean two people with luggage only. Norbert was excellent and the service outstanding.

I enjoyed everything about staying here. Close to subway, tram stop and lovely staff. So friendly and helpful.
Room was very clean!
The only thing that would help is air conditioning.

The hotel was very nice and the staff were friendly. The front desk staff made helpful suggestions for things like restaurants and tours. The location was amazing, just a few minute walk to Marienplatz. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We were not told the room would not be cleaned at all. The hotel said this was Expedia's fault. We were not told by Expedia. In order to get the receipt, which I needed, I asked four times at the hotel and finally had to e-mail the company. I received it a week later.

Correct hotel, well located not far from center. The breakfast and the reception correct but not wonderfull. The staff could be more friendly.
