About this house rental
The Tabor House was constructed around 1895 and is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. It has all the charm of a Victorian style home with modern amenities and located just two short blocks from downtown Wallace, Idaho.
Although the home is not ADA compliant, there are only three short steps to enter the front of the home with a main floor bedroom. The second and third floors are accessible by stairways.
THE MAIN FLOOR-
has 1 bedroom with a king-sized bed and 37" flat screen TV with Roku. A USB rapid charger is located on the wall facing the backyard.
The living room has a cozy gas fireplace with remote, a 50" flat screen with Roku and Netflix, a DVD player with a selection of DVDs, games, puzzles and a book exchange. A Wii game console is located next to the DVD for family gaming. A Shuffleboard table is now located in the dining room. A CD Jukebox with free play is located in the living room.
There is a spacious and well supplied eat in kitchen with microwave, glass top range, dishwasher, and full size fridge/freezer with ice maker.
There is a large formal dining room, full bath, washer, dryer and gas BBQ (located on the backyard patio area). Just inside the back door entrance is a mud room to put your skis and boots. There is also a radio flyer wagon to pull the kids around town or to get groceries as well as bikes to ride.
There is ample parking on the street. Additional covered parking for your motorcycles, ATVs, bicycles, vehicle, etc. can be found at the rear of the residence.
We hope you will enjoy the beautiful front porch (our personal favorite). Wave to the visitors on the trolley as it goes by or if you are lucky, watch the elk or moose traipse through town.
THE SECOND FLOOR-
offers 3 more bedrooms and a full bathroom. Two rooms have queen-sized beds and one room has a double/full. There are flat screen TVs (32") in all the bedrooms also with Roku, and lots of closet space. These rooms also have USB rapid chargers located along the wall which are labeled for identification.
THE THIRD FLOOR-
Or attic has recently been finished with new carpet, drywall, paint, windows. Because we are big on safety, we installed emergency exit (egress) windows.
There is also an emergency escape ladder located in a silver plastic storage container in the room.
We like to think of this floor as great for the youth in your group as it has 4 single beds in private alcoves (thanks to the gabled ceiling), a bubble hockey machine, 32" flat screen with Roku, and a classic Nintendo console (remember those?) with games for their enjoyment. This of course does not mean that adults would not find this area fun also!
There are five security cameras located at the front, rear and side of the residence. The cameras are live and recording.
We accept pets up to 50lbs with a limit of 2 furry family members. There is a one-time fee of $25.00. (additional pets require approval and extra fees)

We have been to Wallace numerous times over the past 10 years, normally staying with friends who have a summer home there. This year some local friends wanted to go there to ride the Hiawatha Trail and visit the other local sites, thus the need for a VRBO.
The Tabor home was perfect for us, very well stocked with all the necessary cooking/dining utensils. The location is excellent! There is an enclosed back area to protect bikes.
The house was neat and clean, the beds very comfortable, and the property very well maintained. We would definitely stay at the Tabor House again.

Our group of retirees stayed at the Tabor House for a Wallace HS Class Reunion. It is a beautiful historic home located just a couple blocks from downtown. The kitchen was well equipped.
Be aware that the stairs to the third floor are pretty steep. Has a great area for kids, including lots of toys, but whoever sleeps up there needs to be careful on the stairs. None of us did, but we enjoyed a cautious tour of the kids area. Scott was very responsive and helpful.
Be sure to take a walk around the neighborhood to see the other historic homes, almost all of which are well maintained and have beautiful yards.

My friends and I have stayed in this lovely home every year during the Wallace Bluesfest for over 5 years now. Every time we stay we have the most relaxed and fun time. We love the front porch where we can sit and people watch and chat it up. Its a big home so everyone has their own space but the home itself still has that cozy feel. Can't wait till next year.

Great house and location

A 5 star rating isn't high enough for this property, and there aren't enough wonderful adjectives to adequately describe the property... Spent 2 nights, but could have stayed 2 weeks. The grandkids LOVED everything from the jukebox to shuffleboard to air hockey to sleeping "in the attic". There were only 6 of us and this place easily sleeps 12 so we had PLENTY of room (there were 2 bedrooms we didn't even use...). Housecleaning did an exceptional job (so I left them an extra tip - you should too ! ! !). Don't know what else to say, but in my years and years of staying at VRBO's from Oregon to Florida (and numerous states in between) this was definitely the BEST place we have EVER stayed at. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ! ! !

We arrived at the Tabor House earlier than the stated check in time and Scotty graciously accommodated us. The Tabor House was clean and well appointed with furniture, dishes, appliances, and essentials. I was very grateful for the washer and dryer because we got so dusty dirty biking the Hiawatha and 4-wheeling on the dirt roads.
The Tabor House’s downtown location provided easy access to rentals, restaurants and shopping and yet it was a peaceful and quiet neighborhood, lovely for strolling.
I have a personal preference for cotton bedding and what is provided is a silky synthetic but the bed itself and pillows were comfortable. My husband especially liked the comfy living room furniture.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

We needed a larger VRBO to house the entire family for a weekend get away to Silver Mountain.
This is a perfect location. Quite neighborhood just off the freeway.
My son ended up locking keys in car but the host referred us to a locksmith just down the road and problem solved.
Great place for our extended family to chill

Very nice neighborhood. Walking distance to downtown area. House was clean and comfortable. Well stocked kitchen, plenty of pans and dishes. Loved the jute box. We stay somewhere every year, this one of the best

We came to the Tabor house to ride the bicycle trails on the abandoned rail grade trails in the area (Betterroot 300). Work great for 5 adults each needing a bedroom. Everything we needed was there and working. House was very clean, well appointed and TV's with internet connections in all the LR and bedrooms but no cable or local channels. Front porch was great for relaxing and saying hi to neighbors and visitors. We were able to walk to downtown and restaurants every day and the town is small and friendly with a number of small topical museums. The house gets 5 stars for cleanliness, but the pack patio had not been swept for some time. The front porch was the place to pass the time.

Great location
Nice town feel, walkable to all interests
Juke box did not work. Played on a random schedule of its own. Had to unplug it.
I would highly recommend that hand holds be installed in both tubs.

Hiawatha bike ride family weekend
Our family finally went on Hiawatha trail bike ride we have been talking about for years. Tabor house was perfect and had all the amenities that we needed for the family to have a relaxing time especially after the Hiawatha ride. It was big enough to hold our family comfortably, the attic room was perfect for the kids with the games. The bedrooms were roomy and comfortable for the adults, it had something for everyone to do. Since we did the Hiawatha on Saturday we did not us the bikes but there were definitely a good number of bike that we could have used to ride around town there were several good bike paths we could have used. We did walk around Wallace and took the trolley tour which was quite informative about Wallace’s history. It turned out to be a very enjoyable weekend Thank you

Tabor (Fun)House
The Tabor House is simply awesome. The layout, the rooms, the exceptionally well stocked kitchen, the games (shuffleboard, air hockey, board games, Wii, etc., etc., etc.), the music collection, the dvd's... You get the picture. The hosts are very responsive. Scotty gave us recommendations on events in town and was at the ready when we had a small issue with the heat (thermostat needed new batteries, which were on the premises!). Wallace is charming, and just a 12-min drive from Kellogg (if you're in the region for Silver Mountain). If your architectural taste is restricted to what's in Dwell magazine, it may take some getting used to, but I say let your hair down and embrace the funkiness.

Wallace Ski Weekend
Great weekend stay at the Tabor House. House was clean and ready to go. Great location. Enjoyed playing the Wii with the kids after skiing.

Love, love, love!
Our extended family had a lovely vacation retreat at the Tabor House. It is perfect for large groups with 4 spacious bedrooms and the 5th bedroom loft area is fabulous for all the kids in the family. Our three teens enjoyed their own space up there! The town of Wallace is so quaint and has a great Main Street to explore. We recommend the Fainting Goat Wine Bar and Bistro.
The costume closet lends itself perfectly to a murder mystery dinner game as a part of your family getawy/celebration.
Scotty responds promptly to all inquiries - finding salt for the winter sidewalk, etc. There were no problems with the house and communication is the best we've experienced with VRBO.
Thank you Tabor House for making my dad's 75th birthday ski and family vacay experience the best!

Quaint Historic Home.
This beautiful home is well furnished and readily stocked with all of the supplies you need to make you feel right at home. Its also perfectly located for your cycling trip and to all of the downtown restaurants and shops.

A great home base for adventures in and around Wallace.
We stayed here two years ago and liked it so much we came back again. A beautiful historic jewel. Large kitchen, large dining room, large front porch. So many good things, well kept, walking or bicycling distance to everything in Wallace proper.

Our stay at the Tabor House
We had a wonderful time. The house was very well appointed with some of everything we might need. The owners did a magnificent job in decorating and furnishings as well as providing a tremendous amount about the history of the Wallace area.

Great place
Great property! The kitchen had everything we needed and more. Probably the best stocked VRBO that we have stayed at. I had mixed up my dates for the reservation and we showed up a day early. The owner worked with us and got us in a day early. Thanks for your flexibility and the great place to stay!

This is a very historic house and has a very interesting items ! We have rented a few homes in the past but this home was the nicest.
Lots of things we didn’t expect to have access to ie bikes, TVs in every bedroom and living room.
The heart of the house is the dining room a wonderful place for a family to gather.
3 floors, attic is a delightful area for kids, Nintendo, air hockey and toys. Only suggestion is a fan to circulate air more as it does get warm up there ! Overall I would say a 10!!
