Nice courtyard in the center. Great location, easy walking distance to market, to church, to restaurants. Etc.
No hot water in room 106.

Inexpensive hotel, central location, rooms surround a very pretty garden to sit that is pleasant to sit in. Staff very friendly and helpful (called me taxis) (but no English), excellent Wifi (I was able to stream movies). They had unlimited filtered hot and cold water which I really appreciated. Would stay again.
No hot water in the shower, towels very rough and scratchy

I could walk to the market or to stores.
Sometimes my
shower was cold.

Location is good. The owner was very nice.
Property old, shabby, and not kept-up. Garbage in the courtyard. Room and bath needed updating. Dirty behind the toilet. Shower head fell off when I tried to adjust it. Lots of street noise and little privacy. And the room was very hot. Barely acceptable.

Clean and very cute room, decorated with nice colours, two nights stands and bed rugs. The stuff were very helpful, and we had a spot for our car, near the little garden. Very recommended if you're staying in Teotitlan del Valle. It's also a much better value for money compared to another place we stayed in here.
There wasn't hot water the day we were there :/

Location on the edge of central area, about 5 mins walk.Staff helpful and pleasant, carpet etc. shop on the premises. Nice clean room
Teocalli is a weaving village and that is its focus, there are limited alternatives however it is only a bus ride away from nearby attractions..

Staff is very friendly and helpful. Good location. It's a bit noisy because of street traffic. Sheets are unsatisfactory. Our room was well appointed.
Really bad bed linens.

The bed was exceptionally comfortable - and huge.
The staff did not seem to be around most of the time. Granted, it was a local celebration and they were probably involved.

So much noise until midnight! My room was next to the kitchen, and people were very loud, as well as kids running around yelling. Until midnight. I slept very little.
The staff was not present very much. Was there coffee? Or breakfast? I don’t know because it was not mentioned.

It was our best stay in Mexico. The family who owns the place is warm, hospitable and extremely helpful. They have been weaving carpets for generations and have some beautiful designs in their shop (good prices).
Malu speaks very good english and went out of her way to share her family’s tradition of weaving and cooking. We were able to watch and learn about the whole proces of carpet making. She showed us impressive art of natural dyeing (mixtures of plants, minerals and bugs) and also the weaving and machines used to produce these beautiful pieces.
We had home made breakfast with the family, consisting of traditional local dishes. Malu recommended us to visit Tlacolula market and it was a perfect choice for sunday morning. More than just a hotel!

The staff is what makes Teocalli special. They are very attentive, hard-working, friendly, and helpful. Also especially nice about Teocalli is the courtyard and breakfast.
The plastic mattress cover, and the lack of fitted sheets. Also bothersome is the self-rating as a three-star hotel, which it is not but still a good choice.

All was fine.

This was our second stay at Tiocalli. Our first was in 2019 for two days. This trip was a 4 day visit and we left this morning for Oaxaca City.
The city of Teotitlàn de Valle is remarkable. if you are adventurous and confident the opportunities are abundant. we met and befriended many people in this community. They are proud of their heritage (and have every right to be) and love sharing its history. we were invited into their homes to learn more about their traditions (which includes drinking mezcal) and we left feeling recharged that humanity might have a chance if it were to adopt just a few basic human courtesies regularly displayed here.
Teocalli is a great value. the location is within walking distance to most city points of interest. The daily public market and church are about 8 blocks. the cemetery is only 4 blocks up the hill. This weaving community has no shortage of very talented artists. There are small shops offering their beautiful artwork literally on almost every block. first time travelers may want to note this town closes down early. You’ll want to make sure to have your evening meal by 6:00 as many of the restaurants close about that time.
Our room was clean and comfortable. Our phones didn’t work well here but the free wi-fi connection helped. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and at home. it is located on the towns Main Street so there is a little road noise but that seems to quiet down about 10:00 pm.
Don’t hesitate to give this place a try. Our next stay in this gem of a town will surely include another night or two at Tiocally.
I can’t think of anything. We had another great stay.

The bed was comfortable, the breakfast was , good , the room very clean and the owners and staff were friendly and helpful.
It would be good to have 2 luggage racks and a a lower shower head that could be adjusted.
