I absolutely love where the hotel is. Waking up to sea is amazing. The decor and wooden structures are beautiful. The dining area is spacious and comfortable. The lady who brought us breakfast was lovely.
This is the first time I have ever stayed in a hotel and I was expecting a much more welcoming and warm experience which I unfortunately didn’t get.
The radiator in our room didn’t work and I had to raise it with the lady on the front desk three times, we were eventually brought extra duvets though. It wouldn’t have been much of a problem if it weren’t autumn by the sea. Breezy and chilly!
Our bathroom was also quite mouldy and dirty.

Location was perfect. Staff were all lovely. Food excellent.
Couple of minor issues with the room. Bathroom blind was broken and curtain in the room had come off the pole so hung down. Didn’t affect our stay. Room was clean and comfortable.

The location is close to the sea. It was a quiet location.
The shower was not very good.

Delicious breakfast with lots of choice.Exceptional view. Approachable helpful staff. Direct access to a very good beach.
The plumbing in bathroom kept making a terrible noise every time you ran taps or flushed toilet and the shower fan/ towel rail didn’t work properly.

The staff were friendly and courteous. The room was spacious and clean. Both breakfast and dinner were more than ample, hot and freshly cooked and the choice was good.
No facecloths provided in the bathroom

All the staff were friendly and helpful. We had a meal out in the garden overlooking the beach on the evening we arrived and it was beautiful. The food and the view.
Cajun chicken starter was well presented and tasty with a lovely creamy whipped do and salad.
Pork belly starter was eaten so quickly I didn't need to ask if it was nice!
The hunters chicken included plenty of BBQ sauce and cheese, a very well crisped thick piece of bacon (no fatty bits floating around) and the thickest home made chips and some lovely fresh salad. Perfect.
Scampi was beautifully cooked and again came with fresh salad and home made chips.
Great to sit out and enjoy our food with the sound of the sea after a long drive.
Our room had a lovely bay window with wifey opening windows to let in a great breeze when needed. 2 comfy chairs to sit and read and just look out to sea (right across to the Isle of Man at the right time of day!).
The bed was firm which was great for my bad back. All clean and lovely warm duvet with a thin throw if you preferred a lighter cover.
The wardrobe and drawers are old and in need of a bit of love really but are large and hold plenty of stuff so you can keep the room tidy. The lamps bedside the bed fitted in well though only one worked and I forget to mention that to the staff to be honest. I'm sure they would've popped a new bulb in if I had!
There's a little heater in the wardrobe in case it gets cold and an iron and full ironing board.
A hairdryer in the drawer (worked very well) and the little kettle on the side with coffee and tea was a welcoming addition after a walk on the beach.
The bath was so deep I needed help getting it after a nice long soak! I did have to wait for my bath as there was no hot water during the day so I waited till around 5pm and managed to half fill it (more than enough with his deep it is!).
I have mobility problems and there are stairs everywhere here. Up to the rooms, down to the bar... Though I reduced this by going outside and walking down the car park slope to get to the garden!
The stairs are not deep and there is a good bannister rail, but it may be difficult for some to access everywhere properly.

The location just next to the beach and a train stop was great, the breakfast was great, but we would prefer bigger choice, the staff were very friendly and helpful
the sofa bed in family room was very uncomfortable, the room should have been with a street view but it was only with a wooden fence view - so no view at all, noises from the kitchen already early in the morning

Staff friendly and helpful would highly recommend.
Food, room cleanliness, and friendly staff.

Walk out of the back door of the hotel and you are on a wonderful beach. Breakfast was excellent with a fantastic little chef who sent a second egg out ( as part of a bacon, egg, sausage, beans and hash brown breakfast) because she thought the first one might have been a bit over-cooked! Brilliant !
Rooms a little dated and double bed was a bit small, at least ours was. We're used to a king size bed, which seems to be the norm in most hotels nowadays. Bathroom was fine apart from there is nowhere in the shower to put your soap, shampoo etc.

The location is perfectly positioned for young families to dog owners due to direct beach access through the back garden so no need to worry about roads. There is a wide section of choices on the menu and plenty of room to relax after a nice day out. It is a pleasure knowing your four legged friend is as welcome as your children and family.

Breakfast was good and kitchen service was excellent. We were glad the hotel served vegetarian sausage and non dairy milk.
We took a seaview room and the view was very pleasant . Beach is accessible via an underpass just near the hotel - only takes 2 minutes to reach the beach.
Key card did not work (no issues as the key did work), minor water drip from skylight in bathroom.

Food good, garden and view good, position good
Main and mirror lights not working, toilet fan not working, empty deodorant can left under chair.
Noise in roof, could not sleep.this is not acceptable as a deluxe room .
They moved us to ground floor room, walls required painting as bits of emulsion on floor leaving bare patches on wall, toilet waste bin had rust patches on lid,
This again was not good enough for a premier or deluxe
Room as advertised.

fantastic location with gorgeous sea views
there was only one towel in our room , which may seem a trivial thing , but when you’ve been hiking all day and then do the journey up all them stairs ( as we were at the very top ) the last thing I wanted to do was go all the way down to the bar and ask for a towel and then all the way back up again!

Staff were friendly and helpful. Great location and close to the beach. Scafell Pike is 30 mins drive and for restaurants, cafes, pharmacy etc you can drive to Egremont which is 15 mins drive from the hotel.
Breakfast wait 15-20 mins for someone to come and take your order
No central heating so we were given a small heater but it was really uncomfortable
TV was not working but the staff managed to change it
Smelly carpet
No wifi in the room and we had to keep leaving the room to use the internet
