About this apartment rental
Welcome to The Steele Magnolia!! Completely renovated 2 bed/1ba plus bonus pull out futon couch. We are located directly across the street from Von Stiehl Winery and are just a few minutes walk to Crescent Beach!
Please note that we are on the third story of the apartment building, and it is not handicap accessible. If you are unable to take the stairs, you may want to consider booking somewhere that is. :)
This property is a 9-unit apartment building. We do have other long-term renters in the building in units 6-9. This summer we plan on having a newly paved parking lot as well!
Laundry:
We do not have any washer and dryer hookups however we are lucky enough to have a laundry mat right next door!
Bugs:
Even though we have sprayed inside and outside twice a year, we are by the water! You can expect to see a few insects here and there.
My husband and I also frequently stay here, I’m letting you know as we may see each other in passing!
Algoma, Wisconsin is a quaint community nestled on the western shore of Lake Michigan at the southern end of the Door Peninsula. Come and take the Charter fishing trip of a lifetime on Lake Michigan, stroll the beautiful sand beach and boardwalk, relax with a glass of wine from a historic winery or spend the day shopping and sightseeing. There is something for everyone!
No matter what you plan to enjoy in Northeast Wisconsin, Algoma is the ideal place to call home base. You can enjoy the peace and quiet and all that Algoma offers while being just a short drive away from Door County to the north, Scenic HWY 42 to the south, and Green Bay to the west.
The property does have a parking lot with one designated parking space per unit. For example if you are staying in unit 3, you will be designated parking spot number 3. If you have more than one of car, there is additional parking on the road or at the park down the street.
To access Unit 3 you will want to enter through the door with the side lights which is accessed and visible from the parking lot. You will go up the stairs on your right all the way to the top of the stairs. Unit 3 will be the first door to your right on the third story.
Opening the front door you will find the floors to have all new luxury vinyl flooring and tastefully decorated. In the kitchen I have added a dining room table which includes 4 chairs.
Through the kitchen the room opens to the living room. I have chosen the seating arrangement to be conversational and inviting. This includes an 84” sleeper futon couch, relaxing furniture, board games, variety of books and a large smart TV. The living room has a door that leads out to the fire escape platform. Note: There is also an AC window unit located in the living room. If the temperature is hot outside, I recommend to turn the AC unit on when you check in so you can cool the suite off while your outside enjoying the town!
As you stand in the middle of the kitchen and living room areas this will show you the bathroom and both bedrooms. The bathroom is fully renovated which includes a tub/tiled shower and beautifully designed tile floor. Each bedroom is furnished with a queen bed. Note: The bedroom to the right has a locked barn door. Inside the locked door are extra supplies for our cleaners. The bedroom to the left has plenty of hangers for everyone to utilize.
We began renovations on this property in May 2022. I take great care in designing properties specifically with relaxation in mind and can't wait for you to relax and enjoy this property that is within walking distance to everything in Algoma!
Each unit has 1 parking spot in the parking lot. The parking spot has each unit number listed on the pavement. There is free parking anywhere on the side of streets and at the park across the street. The Steele Magnolia is directly walking/biking distance to everything in Algoma, from being across the street from Von Stiehl Winery, Von Stiehl Cider Bar, Anaphee Brewery, Smashed on the Rocks, charter fishing, downtown shopping and food, and the beautiful sand beach and boardwalk.

The most comfortable beds! The location is perfect for walking anywhere in town

This property was amazing. It had everything that we could/would need. It is a block from downtown so within walking distance of everything and you can see the lake from the unit. It was very clean and felt very safe.
My only item of note is for follow travelers, if you are going to travel with your dogs, please do not leave them crying and howling in your room all day long. They would be much happier staying at home as would the people renting units around you. I say this as a dog lover and owner of four dogs myself.

Quaint and comfortable! The property well matched the online description and photos. All check-in information was communicated in advance and property was very easy to locate and had easy entry points. The unit was very clean, well furnished and decorated beautifully. Amenities left nothing to be needed. Algoma seems to be a sleepy town but within walking distance of the property was quick access to local winery and bars for easy drink and food options. Property was located within very reasonable driving distance to other towns further north, like sturgeon Bay and Sister Bay. We enjoyed what seemed to be a lucky find when searching for VRBO properties in the Door County area. Would book again! You can feel the pride in ownership and the host makes certain that all aspects are taken care of for the stay.

We really enjoyed how cute it was and close to the water!! Only negative if there was one was the three stories with steps!! Lol. Of you are on the third level but it was still very nice!! Liked the bottle of wine on table and bottled water and all the coffee selections! Toiletries were great too!!

Property worked for what we were looking for. The town is a bit sleepy however a great base to hit Door County sites as well as Green Bay and Lambeau Field. Cruise ship stopped in Algoma while there. I wasn't aware this occurred so nice for the economy of Algoma to improve their downtown community.

Definitely a 5 star experience. Krissi was so easy to communicate with and the apartment was exactly as listed. The doggy bowls for our fur baby were a great touch, and everyone loved the soap/shampoo/body wash included in the bathroom. We really enjoyed our stay and getting to see the lake—so much great hiking there!

Our first time to Algoma. We stayed 5 nights and we loved everything about this rental. Great location within walking distance of very good food, a fine winery, a nice local brewery, and a beautiful beach. And Door County including the great state parks less than an hour away. Simply wonderful!!

The place was so well decorated and so clean. We take our dog on all our vacations and the first thing we noticed was the way the place is decorated in the hallways with photos of dogs, our dog had his own treat jar, and dishes and everything. So wonderful! We will be back!

Right in the heart of Algoma. Loved that the photos matches the look of the apartment. Very happy with everything!!!

The apartment was very clean and spacious. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and soft. We, myself and teenage daughter, were able to relax and get ready for summer. Crescent Beach is a short 10 minute walk from the apartment and is beautiful. We would stay there again.

Very cute remodeled 2 bd apt with views of the lake. Comfortable beds and nice bathroom. We didn’t use much of the kitchen but it had everything we needed. We came for an anniversary getaway and had a great time.
