This cosy 2 story home has free residential driveway parking and free street parking. Set in a charming and historic Delray neighborhood of Alexandria, enjoy long walks along side-walked streets to view nearby historic homes. Walk to local coffee shops and a gourmet wine market. Drive 10 mins to Old Town Alexandria. Drive 13 minutes via 395 to cross the Potomac into our Nations Capitol, Washington DC. You may also take advantage of one of the several bike/scooter shares that are offered in the area.
This property is conveniently located with access to multiple forms of public transportation.
Dash Bus: DASH is a local bus service that is free to riders. It travels all over Alexandria, but will not take you into DC. You can hop on the Dash Bus just a few feet from the front door in both directions.
WMAT Bus: If you were to take a WMAT bus which travels around Northern VA and DC, you would have to either use your phone, acquire a smartrip card, or have exact change on the bus itself.
Metro: We are located about 1 mile from the King Street Metro Station and a little over a ½ mile to the Braddock Street Station. There is a bus stop at the end of our block for the free Alexandria city bus (Dash) that runs directly to the Metro stop. {Trains: Blue and Yellow Lines}. It would take you less than 3 mins by car and probably 10-15 mins to walk to Braddock Station if the weather was nice.
Amtrak: Amtrak provides interstate travel and also has a stop at King Street. If headed north, the next stop after King Street is Union Station in Washington DC. Please check their website for schedules and available stops.
King Street Trolley: Not really an option from the house, but fun nonetheless if you're in Old Town. The King Street Trolley runs every 15 minutes between Alexandria City Hall/Market Square and the King St – Old Town Metrorail station from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week, including holidays. That said the closest spot you could pick it up would be about 2 miles down towards Old Town.
**There are also ample Uber and Lyft rides in the area.

Cute colonial brick house in neighborhood setting. We did not have a car and we were doing quite a bit of sightseeing so we were happy the Metro was in close proximity. The hosts were pleasant and accessible through the app or by phone. I thought the living room furniture could have been a little more comfortable for sitting in at the end of a long day, when we gathered to discuss our adventures. The chairs are stiff and hard and appear to be more for design effect rather than practicality. All in all the house is lovely, the hosts are gracious and the area is beautiful. Im not sure if laundry service is offered, but access to a stack
able washer dryer would be a nice touch. I would definitely recommend this home and the hosts and I would definitely stay in there proerties again.

My son and I had a wonderful time at this beautiful colonial home. Just close enough to D.C. to get there easily, but far enough to be away from the business!

Lovely and peaceful place to stay. Very convenient to all museums and DC area. Close to restaurants that are within walking distances. Home is very clean and very comfortable. Will stay again very soon.

The property was beautifully presented and we loved the historical features and decoration of the house. The Metro was conveniently close - a short walk which made it very easy to get around Washington.
The bottle of wine to welcome us was much appreciated. A quiet area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

We loved it. Especially the decor.

We stayed at this beautiful home for 5 nights while we saw the sights in Washington DC. It was an easy 20 minute drive to DC and staying in this quiet Alexandria neighborhood was a perfect way to get away from the bustling city. The house is as listed and the pictures accurately represent the size and layout. We booked it based on the charm of the decor and it did not disappoint. The home was clean, well stocked and comfortable. Parking was super easy and, although we didn’t have much time to spend there, the outdoor space was nice. The property owners were very friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend this property if you are looking for a place to stay in the DC/Alexandria area.

Our weekend visit to D.C. was very enjoyable, partly because of the setting in which we stayed. The home in Alexandria was comfortable and in a quiet neighborhood. There is a bakery, restaurant, convenient store all within walking distance, as well as the bus and metro, making it very convenient to explore the city as well as D.C. The home was well appointed, comfortable with full kitchen and nice deck and back yard. The owners were very responsive to our requests and went out of their way to make a delivery of blankets for us. The bedrooms were roomy and comfortable. Charging stations at the bedside.

I have traveled all over the world and this little cottage , was perfectly decorated for our trip to Washington DC. It was close but not too close to the city . Our group enjoyed the backyard just as much as the house for the kids to play . Great Communication from start to check out!!! Highly recommend this property!! Perfect 5 Star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💙🇺🇸❤️ home away from home 🏡

We had a great time touring DC and the surrounding area.

I stayed three nights with my significant other and my mom (age 91). This small cottage was well-maintained, fully functional and beautifully decorated in the Colonial style. Everything was very clean. The communications with the hosts were excellent, clear, well-written instructions and quick responsiveness. The mattresses were super comfortable, however, we found we needed to use a step stool to get in and out of the beds as they are high above the floor. All in all, an excellent experience.

Cozy and warm, we had a great experience.

This property was very clean and was located in a great spot. Close to Metro center and great restaurants. Laurie and Collin are great hosts and was willing to help with anything we needed on our stay. I would recommend this place to all my friends and family. We enjoyed our visit and will be back soon.

We enjoyed our stay. Perfect for our family of 4. Kids are still young enough that they shared one of the two bedrooms. Beds were comfortable memory foam. Backyard grill was a nice “eat at home” option. Easy access to Metro and a reasonable walk to other restaurants.

This was a great home base to explore DC and Alexandria. Walking distance to King Street and the river front, but also very drivable with parking garages. We did Ubers to DC to avoid stress and that worked out well. The home itself is very comfortable, with quality mattresses, pillows & linens. We all slept great. Plenty of hot water, our family of 4 never ran out. We enjoyed spending our mornings on the back deck. Great communication with the hosts. 10/10!

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at your lovely home in Del Ray! Was so pleasant to sit and enjoy the sunshine in the lush back yard and truly appreciated all the thoughtful touches. Super convenient to the metro and all that Old Town and DC have to offer. Until next time! 😊

When I entered the property for my stay, I felt like I had hit the VRBO jackpot. It is a gorgeous house with so many lovely details that make a house feel like a home, like books on the coffee table, themed artwork on the walls, and lovely embroidered throw pillows on the chairs. The furniture and amenities were high quality and clearly carefully picked out with this rental unit in mind. The hosts were thoughtful, welcoming, and very responsive. If this is available the next time I travel, I will definitely be back!!!!
