This 5000 square foot residence is a tranquil masterpiece that makes room for relaxing and recreating.
Outside, the sprawling lawn is ideal to play lawn games (croquet and badminton are provided) or stroll
around the gardens. A magnificent heated pool overlooks the river, with comfortable loungers making
for a relaxing afternoon. A gated fence surrounds the pool area for additional safety.
Inside, windows stretch practically floor to ceiling along the entire waterfront side of the house, with
sunset views of the Corsica River and the rolling farmland on its banks. The dining room overlooks both
the Corsica and the pool, providing scenic views in all directions (as well as allowing you to keep an eye on little ones in the pool area). Around the corner, the lovely open kitchen serves up a design to meet all your vacation needs. Next to the dining area, a family room with 75 inch TV and a wood-burning fireplace provides a warm and welcoming place to read, watch TV, and gather as a group. A more formal living area with airy vaulted ceilings beckons with a wood-burning stove, and its sliding doors open to a screened in veranda perfect for sunset cocktails. Connected to the family room and kitchen, you’ll find two more areas to enjoy, a game room with air-hockey and a screened-in porch — the ideal space for gathering with family and friends throughout the day and evening. Downstairs, a game room with air-hockey and children’s toys provides a perfect gathering space for the kids…and the adjacent movie room
is special place for kids of all ages to have an evening’s entertainment!
When it’s time to fall asleep, the first-floor primary suite overlooking the water is designed to help you unwind thanks to its king bed, walk-in closet, soaking tub, walk-in shower, and comfortable reading chairs to enjoy a quiet moment. Another first floor en-suite bedroom has a comfortable queen bed and looks out over the rolling front lawn. The second floor presents two spacious en-suite bedrooms with
magnificent water views, one with a king and another with a queen and a daybed. Downstairs, a cozy bunk-room with a water view and a full bathroom provides a comfortable sleeping area for up to eight. Together, the 5 bedrooms create a comfortable set-up tailor-made for groups of all sizes. And then there’s the home’s nautical allure.
On the banks of the Corsica River, the ultimate alfresco backdrop is yours to explore — whether you’re looking to take in scenic views, get out on the water (on
one of the 5 kayaks or 1 canoe provided) or simply relax on the glider bench on the dock, savoring the serenity rolling in all around you and watching the ducks and turtles paddle by. As evening arrives, gather on Adirondack chairs around the fire pit to roast s’mores and enjoy the star studded sky.
Although the home’s peaceful surroundings will transport you to a place where the outside world doesn’t exist, in reality, the charming towns of the Eastern Shore are mere moments from your doorstep. Just two minutes away by car or ten minutes by
bike, the tiny hamlet of Centreville has a farmers market, several restaurants and cafes, and most importantly – an ice cream shop! (It also has a convenient supermarket.) Fifteen minutes away the riverfront Chestertown beckons with its numerous
restaurants, art galleries, and farmers market. Easton is thirty minutes in the other direction, with its fine dining and boutiques, and another twenty minutes takes you to the quaint harbor town of St. Michaels with its waterfront restaurants and the Chesapeake Maritime Museum. Be sure to sample the many local restaurants, visit the farmers markets, take a cocktail cruise, or embrace the Maryland tradition of hot steamed crabs washed down by cold beer.
