The location was a short climb down to the old city of Dubrovnik and the views were fabulous. The apartment was clean and modern, and Matilda was kind and helpful. Just know that there are a LOT of steps. So if you can’t climb over 300 stairs, find another place. But if you can, it is totally worth it.

Superbly furnished, immaculately clean 2-bedroom apartment with stunning view overlooking the historic city center of Dubrovnik. Getting up and down to the city itself requires going up or down nearly 300 steps, but only takes 10 minutes if you are in decent shape and wear decent shoes, and is very much worth it. Matilda, the property manager, was friendly, accommodating, and responsive. Would gladly return!

The view from the balcony is wprld class. However the virw comes with over 100 steps.

This apartment is absolutely amazing and has the BEST views of Old Town Dubrovnik and the Adriatic Sea! Photos cannot do this place justice; you will be amazed at the incredible view and also the hospitality from the hosts. Matilda was incredibly helpful and such a gracious host! She even provided us with coffee and fruits from her garden during our visit. She walked us through all of the local attractions, restaurants and local amenities. There is a small market and also a grocery store close by and within a five-minute walk. There are also a couple restaurants just as close if you want to grab something close by for dinner. The property is in a PERFECT location for exploring Dubrovnik, everything you need is within walking distance. Walking to Old Town is easy and less than 10 minutes away. The apartment was large, bright, had a full kitchen, two full bathrooms and two balconies. It was spotless, very well maintained and had everything that we needed. Any questions that we had were quickly answered and the suggestions they provided were helpful and made our trip very memorable. There are a lot of stairs in Dubrovnik. The whole city is on a hillside going down to the sea. This property does have stairs up to the apartment, but we found them easily manageable and it maybe even added to the ambiance of the location. We couldn’t have been happier with this property and the gracious and helpful hosts! We have rented through VRBO all over the world, and feel that this was probably one of the best properties we have ever been to. The views were the most amazing of any place we have stayed! It will take your breath away! During our visit, we had an incredible and beautiful full-day boat tour of the Elafiti Islands, stopping at three different Islands. This was a “don’t miss experience” and was one of the highlights of our trip! (Suggested by Matilda). A suggestion for Dubrovnik for first time visitors would be to make sure you get the Croatian Kuna (HRK) currency, although Euros are accepted by Taxis and some places, we found they preferred either credit card or HRK. Croatia was incredibly beautiful, has such amazing history and the Adriatic Sea is just so amazing! Dubrovnik has the nicest and most welcoming people. It is a very safe place for travelers and tourists. Highly recommended, you will not be disappointed with this rental property! Thank you Matilda!

Best view!

-We had a memorable stay with Matilda she’s a great host. The apartment was very clean and met our expectations. It’s a MUST SEE we will definitely do this trip again someday. -The city of Dubrovnik is very clean and spotless, you can’t see one candy wrapper or cigarette butt anywhere. Other cities should use Dubrovnik as an example for cleanliness. -The views of the old town of Dubrovnik and the Adriatic sea from the apartment are fantastic. -Matilda organized a driver to pick us up at the airport. You don’t need a car in Dubrovnik. You can walk, take bus or Uber. We rented our car after our 3 day stay for the remainder of our holidays. -On our arrival Matilda was there to greet us at the bottom of Vicina Street (it’s actually a sidewalk leading to her apartment). -Her porter assisted us “thank god” in carrying our luggage up 132 stairs to our apartment. The first climb up the stairs tested our fitness level. Don’t let the stairs scare you it’s well worth it. -Matilda brought us to her apartment and welcomed us with an amazing homemade “Apple Strudel” , Turkish Coffee and freshly squeezed lemon juice from her garden. Also she gave us a bottle of wine. Her warm welcome made us feel at home right away. -There are many great restaurants in Dubrovnik. Matilda recommended a restaurant in the old town called “Konoba Rhea Silvia”. I recommend it they have Great staff, Great food, Great prices we went back on our last night because we liked it so much. -Dubrovnik was used in the filming of “Game of Thrones”. My son loved the “Game of Thrones” tour. Our tour guide played a role in the film and shared some of her stories. -You must do the walk around the old city, It’s breathtaking. -As beautiful as this place is I would caution people with disabilities. It’s not very accessible for those with disabilities. You can still enjoy your visit but at a slower pace. -The Old Town has no cars its very nice for walking around. -The “Health App” on my iPhone reported that on the day when we walked around the old city. We walked 7km, 13,100steps and 53 floors, Yes 53 floors. I have to say it was well worth it and we left Dubrovnik in much better shape than when we arrived. After a while as you are enjoying the beautiful sites you don’t even realize you are climbing stairs. -Matilda I want to thank you and your staff for everything. Matilda and her husband were lovely hosts! Their home is a wonderful location right down the street from old city. The apartment has a beautiful 360 view, is clean, and spacious. Do note however, there are about 130 stairs to the airbnb.

Spacious 2 bed 2 bathroom apartment with lovely views. Of course you don’t get such a view without steps! Apartment well equipped and very clean. Highly recommended

Really enjoyed our family holiday, facilities in the apartment were modern and very homely- the air conditioning was especially welcome in the heat of Dubrovnik

The rental property has kept the feeling of the old city but with modern, well appointed additions. Matilda has kept the property well groomed and decorated with plants and walkways that give it character. The walk to the entry door is uphill with many steps so do not skimp on tipping your driver as a helper if you are a heavy packer or if you are a senior. The kitchen has all the necessary appliances for meal preparation and the bedrooms are comfy and well stocked with additional bedding items. We did not use the living room space but it looked like a nice space for relaxing. The balcony has a great overview of the walled city and harbor. It was very hot while we were in the city so the air conditioning provided needed comfort. Matilda was a very good host and provided us with all the necessary information to make our stay comfortable. The property has been in the family for many years so the atmosphere is genuine. I would highly recommend renting this property. If I were to return, it would be in late Sept. or early Oct. to escape the huge crowds and high temperatures, not to mention the savings.

This place was perfect in every way. Beautiful and clean. The views were perfect every morning when we drank coffee from the balcony. Just beware if you have health problems this may not be for you. Most of Dubrovnik requires climbing of stairs and this beautiful place is no exception.

The 4 star apt should be renamed the 5 star apartment. it's beautiful, extremely clean, well equipped, 5 star view of the city and wonderful hosts. We shared a delicious fish dinner and wine with Matilda and Vinko, they are beautiful kind people. As stated in other reviews, there are several stairs to climb but well worth it. Honestly, if you are unwilling or unable to climb some stairs, you might consider a different city. Good things are worth working for!

The property was well located near to one of the main entrances into Dubrovnik Old Town, with only a short walk down but a slightly more strenuous walk back up, although taxis and buses were easily available at competitive rates. We were welcomed to the apartment by the owner who is extremely pleasant and helpful and speaks good English. The apartment is modern inside and well fitted out to a high standard and benefits from pleasant outside space and panoramic views of the Old Town and coast. We had an extremely enjoyable stay and would definitely visit again.

First of all, the owners are lovely people. They even left us a bottle of wine and a loaf of bread. The apartment was spotless and had any amenity you might need including a brand new espresso machine. There are multiple balconies and terraces in which to just chill with a drink and take in the sights of the hill behind behind and the old town below. Pile gate is literally straight down a set of steps. The only negative, and it's only a negative if you aren't fit, are the steps back up. If you get winded, just take a rest and take in the view. Really not a huge problem. I would totally stay here again.

This property is very accurately described in the listing. The photos do not do the apartment justice, it is a wonderful location to see and explore Dubrovnik old town. It takes approx 5 minutes walking to reach the Pile gate.There are many steps up to the apartment but the view is quite spectacular and well worth the climb. It is exceptionally spacious and spotlessly clean with everything that may be required to enjoy a stay in Dubrovnik. Matilda, the owner, who lives downstairs in the building was particularly helpful before our arrival, organised an airport transfer for us and was on site to greet us and provide information and answer questions. I would have no hesitation in recommending this property to any of my friends and family. I would however caution the elderly or infirm about the steps, but most of the area around Dubrovnik old town is similar. Fabulous apartment, hope to visit again.

We spent 4 wonderful days in the 2* appartment. Our appartment host, Matilda, welcome us very warm and friendly and show us around the appartment and our very beautiful own(!) garden with great view (exactly how the pictures shows). the apartment is fully equipped, you can cook your own meals and even you can wash your colthes with the washing machine if needed. i want specifically mention the good condition and the cleanliness of the apartment, it definately earns 5 Stars*!!! They way from the apartment to the breathtaking old town of dubrovnik takes just 10 minutes by walk. The combination of this wonderful city and the perfect stay in the apartment made us unforgetable days in dubrovnik. we definately would recommend it. our flight back was in the evening, but Matilda gave us the opportunity the leave our lagguage with her and host us with a own room till we have to leave. Thanks for everything Matilda!

My husband and I, along with 2 friends, just finished 4 nights at this location and had an amazing time. The apartment was very clean and had the best views of the old city from the two balconies. The bedrooms are a good size, the bathrooms were also large, and the kitchen more than accommodated our needs. The owner, Matilda, was very nice to us and showed us around the apartment. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Dubrovnik. One caution - many stairs to get to the apartment and to the old city.
