It was one of the best stays. The hosts were very friendly. The hosts proactively arranged for trips, football matches and it was great fun. Not just the hosts, all the guests hang out at the terrace and it was very "vibing". Got a lot of memories and great experiences from the trip. I can definitely say if it wasn't for Tamasha the trip to Udaipur wouldnt have been this fun. We just looved it!!

I punti di forza del Tamasha sono sicuramente tre: la posizione, le terrazze e le proprietarie.
La posizione è molto comoda, a 200 metri, pochi minuti a piedi, dall'ingresso del City Palace, dove si arriva con tuk tuk (le auto si fermano fuori dell'area del bazar). Inoltre l''ostello si affaccia in un vicolo, a pochi passi dal lago, lontano dalle strade più trafficate, quindi abbastanza silenzioso giorno e notte.
Dalle terrazze del Tamasha si ammira un panorama meraviglioso sul lago, la vista è ancora più spettacolare al tramonto, con in lontananza i canti delle preghiere, uno spettacolo che si rinnova ogni sera in modo diverso e ti mette in pace col mondo. La prima terrazza, dove si trova un piccolo ristorante, è anche il punto di incontro fra i vari ospiti, la seconda terrazza si trova ancora più in alto.
Le proprietarie Elivia and Pragya, sono due sorelle entusiaste, propositive, gentili, inclusive, aperte a consigli. Sono fra le pochissime, se non uniche, giovani donne imprenditrici che gestiscono una struttura ricettiva ad Udaipur, fra mille difficoltà ed ostacoli di ogni natura in quanto donne, hanno portato in poco tempo il loro ostello a un meritato apprezzamento. Solo per questo meriterebbero un premio.
Vengono organizzate (a pagamento), attività, escursioni e trekking nei dintorni.
Non fatevi scoraggiare dal vicolo stretto, né dall'ingresso-reception buia e a volte disordinata, né dalle scale ripide per salire alle meravigliose terrazze. Non c'è ascensore.
Io ho alloggiato in un piccolo dormitorio femminile con 2 letti a castello e con bagno interno. Le lenzuola pulite, si usa solo il lenzuolo di sotto, ma su richiesta potete avere incluso anche quello di sopra. Il letto ha ben due cuscini. Sarebbe utile una luce da lettura per ogni letto, mentre le prese elettriche ci sono. Il bagno è piccolo, poco arieggiato, e necessita di una pulizia più accurata. Per acqua calda basta accendere interruttore. Per qualsiasi cosa, basta chiedere.

Such a memorable stay. The hosts go out of their way to make you feel comfortable irrespective of your nationality (so be sure to give them the same respect). Pooja and Pragya are terrific in setting the mood during evenings, with fun activities planned for socialising (starting with a complimentary tea at sunset). Don't think there's a better view of the lake and the sunset anywhere else in Udaipur. Shoutout to Khushal, Parvez, and Rohit for the positive vibes.

If you want peace, you will find a peaceful spot, if you want to indulge in community you will have the best experience. Tamasha Udaipur is the best combination of peaceful as well as fun place. Both the things are taken care so well. Staff is really nice and helpful. And owner Elivia is a gem of a person.

The main selling points of the hostel are the staff, the view from the terrace and the general vibe of the hostel.
Elivia was an excellent host, very thoughtful and available to help out with whatever you may need. She also dinamized several activities to bond the people at the hostel. You can tell she is very passionate about her project, which is great to see. Rohit, another member of the staff, was also great!
The view is even better than in the pictures, one of the best places to see the sunset in Udaipur.
Definitely one of my favorite stays in India, would recomend it to everyone and will come back next time I am in Udaipur for sure!

The owners of Tamasha Udaipur have personally created a unique, great atmosphere. They took opportunities to hang out and get to know guests, creating a great sense of community. They really looked out for guests’ wellbeing, helping me sort out when and how to get to the train station after I checked out (even staff walking with me to the nearest rickshaw before dawn, which prevented the need to even do any dreaded negotiation with the rickshaw driver). The owners were also really interested in my feedback of very minor ways to make the place even better.
The view from the two terraces (as well as the private room I stayed in) was amazing and in my opinion not much different from luxury (and ultra expensive) hotels nearby. I found the pictures on booking.com of the view from the private room I booked to be accurate to what I actually saw, which was nice to know what view I was getting.
The private room I stayed in was very clean. I didn’t pay luxury hotel prices and don’t expect luxury hotel amenities, so I found it exceptional value for money. I found the bed to be comfortable.

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They organize (paid) tours but I unfortunately didn’t have time to attend. The location was impeccable, walking distance to many spots. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the water was hot (just make sure to turn on the hot water switch). The roof has amazing views on the lake. I highly recommend this place!
Not a dislike, just a heads up in case anyone has mobility issues or a lot of bags: the whole area is slightly hilly, and the last few steps to reach the property can only be accessed on foot. There is no elevator, but they can help you with bags if you need it!

That's where you want to stay in Udaipur. Because you'll have the best time in the best location with the best staff ever. Seriously my best experience in India. And the sunset on the rooftop is breathtaking. And the owner is wonderful. And the hot shower are really good.

The view from the terrasse and rooftop on the lake is breathtaking and it is the best sunset view from the city….to enjoy it with a tea offered by the house was priceless, plus I got to chat with other guests and the owner and i had a great time

The room and bathroom was very clean, this is refreshing after 2 months in India, it was much appreciated, plus they had toilet paper and i didn’t even need to ask for it
And above all, what made all the difference : the owner ilivia is the absolute best. She made me feel at home, she’s so welcoming, really caring, full of advice/tips to visit the city, taking and giving her time and energy to make her guests feel safe, confortable so that we can the best time. She arranged the tuktuk for me, I had a late bus so I could still enjoy the common areas waiting for the bus and she walked with me in the rain to the tuktuk at 9.00pm….it is way more than her job description so big up to you and your sister and your staff, I will be sure to come back here if I ever visit udaipur again !

My stay at Tamasha was best, the hard work which all staff put in making everyone stay memorable is highly commendable. Tamasha team is best in town, I have stayed at other hostels in Udaipur before but the fun as well peace i found here was found no where. You being part of Tamasha is you being lucky. Don't think twice just book the place. This hostel is just 6 months old, but the owner is traveller herself hence this place doesn't feel like new hostel, the staff has good knowledge about the area and even take you on tours at affordable price. The hidden waterfall is a must go place it gives you Kasol vibe in Udaipur, they have done a deep research about the area and know what place excites the guests.

The place is exceptionally at good location with great view of lake pichola, staff is humble and the owner is very hospitable and very welcoming. You get a good resting place at the cafeteria with good read, comfortable seating and indoor games, main usp is that you can never get bored of the lake view. Everything is near by, hardly 5 mins walk to major food joints like jheel cafe, TWG etc, city palace is 2 mins walk and gangaur ghat is in close vicinity. One really doesn't need any mode of commutation and can enjoy the old city walk with street market.

1. The location was perfect. Just next to the city palace, facing the lake. Easy access to all the main places by walk.
2. The hosts were very welcoming, Elivia guided me a lot throughout my stay w.r.t. places to visit and things to do.
3. Hostel plans trips to a lot of unexplored places of Udaipur which add to the charm.
4. The view from the hostel is beautiful as it is facing the lake pichola. Day time has the water and hills in view making it look straight out of a scenery and nighttime the glittering lights at the ghats and other hotels with cool udaipur breeze and soft music in the background makes it very serene.
5. Wifi at the hostel was good, I think for people who would like to staycation it should be fine.
6. Bathrooms had hot water working.
7. Rooms were cleaned regularly, in fact there was this big rainstorm that was there during my stay, it left the common areas with loads of water but the staff worked on clearing it immediately. Kudos to the housekeeping.
8. AC Cooling was good.
9. The stay cost me next to nothing.
10. It's a new hostel with host, Elivia, being the manager herself, so they are improving everyday and taking feedback very positively and making their best attempt to make every guest fall in love with udaipur to the extent that she herself is in. So 1 extra point for that.
1. Dorm Rooms were a bit small in size, i think it was an old construction so not sure if anything can be done w.r.t. that.
2. The bathroom was even smaller with the washbasin being put in the dorm room because of the space issue. Again issue with the building construction.
3. The shower in the bathroom was faulty and was sprinkling water anywhere but where intended. Hosts have confirmed it will be resolved though.
4. The door of the bathroom was jammed because of the rainy season, thereby it was not lockable. Again hosts have confirmed they are already on it. Besides, they offered me a different bathroom for shower to make me feel safe and heard. Much appreciated.
5. Blankets in the room were subpar. Have suggested the host to improve on that.
6. Food at the hostel kitchen was not that good. I hope they find a better chef soon.
7. The room didn't have any storage for the luggage.

Elivia is the best host I could have! I had so much fun with everyone and thanks to her, I discovered local places that I wouldn’t visit by myself.

Tamasha Udaipur exceeded my expectation. As it is a hostel, the rooms are good but their hospitality, view, food, smile on the staff face, and Elivia/Pooja being the coolest host makes it a best place to stay in Udaipur. They organize daily some amazing evening activities which keeps the guest indulge, this is best place to meet Backpackers from all over the world. They also take you to some unexplored places. The BEST hostel with a lakeside view in udaipur! Elivia is the coolest most accomodating host ever and will take you on adventures to some epic places that only the locals could tell you about! Comfortable place for the weary traveller to rest their head and has a really cool rooftop chill spot as well!
