The staff is very friendly. This is a “no frills” room. Two beds, no TV and a bathroom. The breakfast was nice.

When just arriving it doesn't seem beautiful and it is hard to find the door to get in (no sings with "reception" or "entrance"). When entering inside every thing is perfect and really friendly staff etc. I would like to stay there again now that I know what's inside the building :-)

Very nice, quiet place to stay with comfortable rooms. Good breakfast and also dinner. They will do laundry for you if it’s not too late in the day

What a great place! After a long day of traveling in wind and rain this was a pleasant reprieve from the elements. The propreteir was warm and kind. She created a pleasant environment with over flowing hospitality. The room was clean, with hot water and comfortable beds. Our dinner and breakfast were both good and the dining hall warm and inviting. I wish we could have stayed longer, but the fjords and glaciers beckoned us on our way. Thank you, we really enjoyed our stay.

Great experience. The position of this new managed - family owned hotel is strategic for Studlagil (the basalt canyon) and on the way that goes from Egilsstadir to the Hverir Geothermal Area/Namafjall Hike and the Northwestern area of Iceland.
The position is very quiet, ideal to see the northern lights without the light pollution of the cities. We were so lucky to see an Arctic Fox few minutes before arriving at the hotel.
The hotel was formerly a local school. It’s great to see this kind of reconversion into an hotel while breathing local history.
The rooms are recently renovated, clean and essentials.
We had the chance to have a great dinner at the hotel (chicken wraps and fries). Very good and not expensive considering the Icelandic prices!
The breakfast is self service as well as the check in procedure.
By our side the people of the staff is the added value of this hotel. They are very friendly and helpful.
We absolutely suggest this hotel!

Immaculate, beautiful guesthouse with plenty of space and modern well maintained facilities. The host that greeted us was very nice, kind and helpful. Shower and beds were amazing. Breakfast was delicious as well. Wonderful location off the ring road. Would most definitely stay here again.

The staff was the best, even in a high stress situation with road closures bringing an unexpected full booking. They have a common area with tables and board games, including Catan, to hang out outside your room. Room was spacious for Icelandic standards. Rooms were clean and modern.

Provided dinner even when not technically available!

Great hotel and staff

Amazing clean and modern. Beautiful scenery. The price cant be beat. Iceland isnt as expensive as everyone says. The gasoline is, otherwise other stuff isnt so out of bounds.

We stopped here for a night stay. I do agree it looks better on the inside than the outside! The front desk staff were really sweet and provided us with advice on seeing the northern lights! This was day 5 of 10 on Iceland ring road. That night we were able to see the northern lights it was amazing! The room was cozy, very clean and had everything you needed for a good nights sleep. The beds very comfortable and plenty of space in the room. Breakfast is not included, about $18 USD per person. There aren’t a lot of options near the hotel to eat so we decided to eat breakfast there. The pancakes were delicious and it also included typical Icelandic breakfast. I would definitely stay here again!

Very close to the canyon. Good food. Basic but comfortable. Plumbing needs work.

Simple basic hotel. Limited amenities and dinner options. OK for a stopover. Looks better inside than from the road. Clean and comfortable.

Great customer service. Food was wonderful. Room was spacious and very clean!

Check out time when I booking is 11Am. But front desk lady tell me 10 Am. Too early. Window curtain see through. Hard time to sleep.

The hotel staff are very nice people! They even made us egg sandwiches/breakfast to go because we didn’t made it through breakfast hour. Very strategic location to explore the majestic Studlagil Canyon!
