About this apartment rental
Welcome to La Maison! A spacious, newly renovated apartment in a historic building. Nestled in Portland’s West End, 3 blocks from Maine Medical and a 5 minute walk from the Western Promenade, you'll reside above the city on a quiet street, but within walking distance to all of Portland's restaurants, venues, vistas, and night spots. The apartment is incredibly spacious and can easily accommodate seven guests.
Plush mattresses, premium pillows, coded entry, and super fast 2gig fiber internet.
Our spacious accommodation spans 1250 square feet and two private bedrooms with an en suite office in the master bedroom. In the heart of downtown on a quiet drive, you'll enjoy premium memory foam mattresses, casper pillows, leather sofas, and 1gig fiber internet with multiple streaming options including Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Paramount+, Peacock, and ESPN+.
The apartment features a huge fully equipped kitchen. Both bath and kitchen are newly renovated with tile and backsplash. Dreamy antique steam radiators keep the place warm and cozy in the winter time along with original fireplace and insert. In the warmer months, the apartment is completely air conditioned with AC's in each of the bedrooms.
Original wood molding throughout, 10ft ceilings, and built ins are just a few of the period details. Historic flare with the comforts of today make this apartment the ideal base for your visit to Portland.
You’ll have private access to the entire apartment.
We are available and responsive leading up to and throughout your stay. We give our guests privacy, but can be reached at all times through the Airbnb app or by phone.
We are in the heart of downtown Portland in the historic district, situated on a relatively quiet side street, walking distance from many great restaurants and scenic views and neighborhoods. 5 min walk from the Western Prom, Deering Oaks Park, and Maine Medical, 15 minute walk from the Old Port.
We are located in an area of downtown with free and unlimited street parking. Spaces are generally abundant before 5pm. As it gets later, parking becomes more limited. For this reason, we recommend checking in on the earlier side. Private on site parking available for $20/night.
SAFE ENJOYMENT: We ask all guests to please take responsibility for their safety and to please take appropriate precautions. While children are welcome, please note that the property has not been childproofed, and therefore may not be suitable for those requiring a fully child-safe environment.
Please no pets on the furniture. Do not leave any perishables out at the end of your stay. No smoking on the property.
Guests with Children: While children are welcome in our home, please note that the property has not been childproofed. It may not be suitable for very young children or those requiring a child-safe environment. We ask parents to supervise their children closely and accept responsibility for their safety and wellbeing during their stay.

Enjoyable stay. Pleasant interactions with owner. A booklet with information about checkout duties and area restaurants would be nice.

We enjoyed our stay greatly. There is a lot of room in this apartment. The primary bedroom has a queen bed and second bedroom has a double bed. The beds are comfortable with nice linens and duvet. The owners anticipated every need. The first morning we woke to find a plethora of coffee and tea choices. A large dining room and living room with a sectional and a futon. All comfortable. We enjoyed looking at the folksy 70’s art prints. There are air conditioners in the bedrooms that kept the apartment comfortable. The owners stocked the apartment with hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, dish washing detergent, etc… They had basic spices along with sweetners. The owners were extremely responsive to any questions/requests.
The apartment is located
- two blocks from a park.
- a few blocks from the West Promenade which has beautiful Manaions
- less than two miles to anywhere you want to go.
We parked our car for our visit and walked everywhere!
Great brunch restaurants: Hot Suppa (Scrambala and Corned Beef Hash). and Bayside American Cafe (Lemon and Wild Blueberry French Toast (get one piece!) and Cinnamon Roll pancake)
We had wonderful lobster rolls all over and visited lighthouses. What an incredible stay!
Note there are two sets of steps to access the apartment. This was no problem for us and we really liked how the owners had the code locks on the house entrance and apartment.
We will definitely stay here again. Portland is such a great city.

This is an old house that has been divided into multiple apartments. I booked this place because we have an 18 year sold who likes to have his own room, he claims we snore (whatevs). We also like to drink our own wine in the evenings, and our own coffee in the morning. This place is not the ritz, but it was perfect for the three of us. Very clean, very well stocked, beds were super comfy, towels and pillows new! A big bay window gave a beautifully sunny morning, and the big living room allowed us to be together in the evening. We didn’t cook but the kitchen looked clean and well stocked. Parking was a bit difficult but the owner had warned us, it’s street only, but only once did we have to park a little ways a way. Busiest Parking times are after 5:00 so if you go out, just uber, it’s likely cheaper anyway since Parking is so expensive on commercial street (minimum of $25). Also, the stairs up to the apartment are narrow and old, not good for anyone with agility issues. I also left an item and the owner graciously agreed to send it to me! We loved our stay here.

This was a charming, spacious & light- filled apartment in a convenient location. We really enjoyed the walk-ability of the whole area. There is an absolutely amazing farmers market on Saturday which is a 3 minute walk away. The only challenge, as was mentioned in other reviews, was finding street parking in the evening. We did manage to find a spot every time but the spaces were a few minutes walk away. It should not deter anyone just a heads up to be prepared. We very much enjoyed the space & the city.

The place was on a charming street located within a 20 minute walk of everywhere we wanted to be in town.
The check-in/check-out process was very easy and the owner was very responsive. Great stay!
