Immerse yourself in the spectacular surroundings of this waterfront home in Hoodsport, where you'll greet each morning with a breathtaking view of the sun rising over Hood Canal. This is a place for quintessential Pacific Northwest experiences - taking out the three provided kayaks, observing bald eagles and otters from the beautiful patio out back, and collecting oysters on the pebbly beach. In fact, the oysters are so plentiful, don't be surprised if you can completely fill the five-gallon bucket up with them each day!
This east-facing home enjoys a private stretch of waterfront on the flat, rocky shores of Hood Canal. There's so much to keep you at home here, but there's also much to explore, from lovely Lake Cushman (nine miles) to the vast network of trails in neighboring Olympic National Forest and Olympic National Park.
The house was seemingly designed for gathering with friends and family, beginning with the expansive waterfront patio. Take your pick of multiple seating vignettes in both sun and shade, pull up a stool for a cold drink at the outdoor bar, and admire the incredible view as you barbecue and dine alfresco.
The interior is a showcase of the natural setting as well, thanks to large picture windows and an open floor plan brimming with sunlight. Whether you're setting up a board game, streaming movies in the living room, or preparing and sitting down to a homemade meal, you'll never lose sight of the water. Of the the three serene bedrooms, one is a primary suite with an attached bunk nook for little kids; another opens directly to the back patio. Central air conditioning, a washer/dryer, and complimentary WiFi are provided as well.

We had an amazing labor day weekend at the beach. We got oysters and clams from right off the backyard, did a puzzle, played some games.
House is great for families - we had two 4 adults and 1 kid. Might be tight with more than 1 more adult. Could handle quite a few more children

Our party of 9 enjoyed the house and access to Hood canal. The kayaks were a great amenity; nice patio space & well equipped kitchen
4.0 / 10.0
This was a great place that has fallen into disrepair. A stuck major sliding glass door, non-functioning electrical outlets, broken furniture, a weedy, dirty outdoors are some of the low lights.
The place is very well equipped but also full of junk and left over groceries. A MAJOR cleanup, inside and outside is needed along with the major repairs.

We had an unforgettable weekend at the Blue Ox. The location is unbeatable — literally on the water, with incredible private views — yet still only minutes away from grocery stores and restaurants up & down 101. On top of that, you’re close enough to Olympic to drive out for a hike & still have the whole day ahead of you.
We had a great time swimming, kayaking, and collecting oysters during low tide to grill on the spot.
The house itself is bright, comfortable, and totally stocked with all the equipment you’d need for water activities and cooking big meals. WiFi was also fast enough for multiple of us take video calls at the same time.
One of my favorite weekend getaways ever

Beautify scenery, spacious home. Close to the water.

It was perfect! Front yard was two steps to the beach. Plenty of fresh oysters with a dedicated bbq for cooking them. Nice and comfortable outdoor lawn furniture to watch the tide ebb and flow. Home was clean and welcoming. Plenty of parking. Totally enjoyed our stay. If you like a comfortable home, wondering the beach, close by shopping and restaurants this home is a must.

The rooms were roomy and well furnished. As for culinary needs, the kitchen had everything you could ask for - spices, and much more. Plenty of on site parking for the guests, and super close to town for shopping, quaint shops and great food.

I went here with friends for a birthday weekend and had a wonderful time. The house was very spacious and roomy, and there were more than enough beds and blankets for all of us. The main heater works well for the family room, and smaller space heaters in each bedroom made it so we could each set our desired sleeping temperature.
The VIEWS are absolutely incredible, I did not get tired of waking up to the beautiful Hood Canal and all of the animal life right outside the window (we got to see several Bald Eagles that nest in the area). And the beachfront access was delightful -- we were able to dig up some oysters on the beach to enjoy, and it was great to experience the marine ecosystem. We also really enjoyed the fire pit out back for an evening of smores.
Location was perfect -- a few hours outside Seattle (where we came from) but plenty of grocery stores along the way, and the local grocery store is pretty well-stocked with essentials (though I would bring in gluten-free/vegan options as there is less selection of those items). The kitchen is also fully stocked with all manner of baking and cooking items, utensils, serveware, etc. which was great for us, since we made a big Costco run and did most of our cooking at home. Huge for cutting down on food costs! Functioning dishwasher and onsite pods also made it easy to clean up.
If you want a balance between the great outdoors and small-town vibes, this is the perfect homebase. We really enjoyed a daytrip to Port Townsend to do a wine tasting and shopping, as well as a delicious lunch at nearby Hama Hama Oyster Saloon. Lots of great hiking in Olympic National Park/Forest, as well -- we will definitely be coming back and exploring the Olympic Peninsula some more!

My family loves making memories at the beach for our annual Thanksgiving at the beach.

We picked the perfect weekend as the weather was crisp and sunny, making this beautiful waterfront location pure heaven!

Location was great. However the low rating was due to, home was still being cleaned past checkin time, kitchen cabinet door missing, kitchen knife found on outside table (we had small children), outlet cover missing (again small children), water shut off to the house prior to checkout for work on the well, no notice to us. Basically an unsafe situation. I believe a refund should be provided.
