Overall, we enjoyed the cabin and our stay. Our only complaints would be the traffic noise when sitting outside, but this was a minimal distraction. The larger complaint would be the amount of flies and moths that somehow were able to enter the cabin. One bedroom probably had 20-30 dead flies on the floor by the end of our stay. Moths were a lesser issue but I believe one of them crawled into the fire detector in the middle of the night and set it off, but I could be wrong about this and it went off for another unknown reason. Other than these issues, the cabin worked well for our family trip with 2 adults and 2 children.

Although we didn’t spend a lot of time at the cabin we enjoyed coming “home” at the end of our day to the rustic charm with all the modern necessities! We loved the proximity to the Mickelson trail and had a nice morning walk there one day.
Definitely would recommend!!

Beautiful cabin and gorgeous view. It was fantastic!
4.9
Beautiful cabin with everything we could possible need.
4.9
Beautiful, clean, comfy home that came stocked with the essentials you need like trash bags, dish soap, and many other little things that we appreciated.
We also loved sitting on the front porch, having a few drinks after a long day of hiking, biking, ATVing, and visiting the historical landmarks. This cabin is secluded, but not too far off the beaten path. You have neighbors, but the front yard faces nothing but nature. Just a quick drive into Hill City for groceries, restaurants and shops. (Note: Must stop by the Alpine Inn for dinner. 9oz fillet minot, baked potato, Texas toast & salad wedge for under $14. )

Beautiful modern cabin, with large front porch. Location was great for many nearby attractions. Our kids enjoyed playing in the yard. We also watched a couple of deer pass through that were probably only 100ft from the front porch. Full kitchen was great for meals.
4.9
Beautiful retreat cabin with large amount of wild life. Perfect for a family.

Cabin was a perfect home base for a fun-filled weekend in South Dakota with family. All of the comforts of home and the ability to cook meals (would have been nice to have basics like salt and pepper in the kitchen) was just what we were looking for. Nice central location to all the nearby sites. Kids loved roasting marshmallows in the fire pit and exploring the Mickelson Trail. Thanks for sharing your beautiful log cabin with us.
4.9
Cabin was clean, comfortable, well stocked and beautiful. The only negative thing, is that it is located literally right off hiway 385. The driveway is steep so you do not see the cars but you definitely hear the traffic.

Charming and well apppinted

Everything was perfect.

Excellent stay! The cabin is perfectly centrally located to sight see. The full kitchen allowed us to save so much money, we had breakfast and dinner at the cabin, and even packed lunch a few days. Full laundry allowed us to go home with clean clothes, no vacation laundry! The scenic porch was wonderful and peaceful. I loved all the little decorating details. Very comfy and roomy! We loved it.

Family vacation to Black Hills first week of June 2017. Cabin was great, Location was central and easily accessible to Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer, Hill City, Custer State Park, Reptile Gardens, etc. And, yes we did them all. Very quite and well equipped cabin.

Good location and very clean. It was a great cabin in the woods. Would definitely stay there again.

Great cabin. Very clean. Centrally located. Loved it! Very enjoyable!!
4.9
Great central location within the Black Hills. Good selection of dishes with which to prepare meals. The addition of a few basic ingredients, e.g., salt and pepper, would be super helpful. We enjoyed our stay in the quiet location.
4.9
Great location between Hill City and Custer. Close Mt Rushmore, Lake Sylvan, and both communities. We lover coming back each night and having S’mores by the fire. Lovely place

Great location, clean, accommodating and more than we expected. Highly recommend!

Great location for all our plans in South Dakota. We thought the cabin would be a little more remote tho from the pictures.
The kitchen was extremely well stocked and the cabin was very cozy and comfortable. We loved it!

It’s a very nice cabin, that is well furnished, comfortable, and very convenient to the southern Black Hills. Although it is only 2 bedrooms, it worked very well for my family of 6. The cabin is very close to route 385 so it a bit noisy with road noise during the day, but much quieter at night. Although it is a very nice setting, the pictures that make it look like it is off by itself with lots of room around it are a bit deceiving. There is a barn and another house fairly close to the house. Neither impacted our stay as we enjoyed our stay very much.
4.9
It was a very cute clean cabin! We will be staying again! Close to everything, but not right in town just like I like it!
4.9
It was great
4.9
It was very easy to rent and we really enjoyed our stay here and hope to do it again!!!!
4.9
Located centrally to all of the sites that you will want to see. Was a nice, home like feel to come back to every evening and to sit on the porch and have a hot drink every morning. Stocked very well with all of the stuff that you would need. We were able to make a great Easter supper.
It is not as secluded as I thought it would be, but that's okay. It's also not in a very busy spot.
The 12 year old even enjoyed it and asked if we could have a day to just stay at the cabin.
It was a fantastic and beautiful stay. If we make it out that way again, this will be the first place I look to.
Thank you.

LOCATION:
Location was approx 1/2 way between Hill City and Custer (6-7 miles). Somewhat rural however we were there for solitude which is abundant. Some subtle highway noise during the day however not an issue for us. There are a couple other neighbors that share the same road that descends off the hwy to the residence.
PROPERTY:
The cabin is as nice inside as it is out. Very well maintained and clean. The online pics are the best resource to review and offer more than I can speak to. The propane fire and propane grill were very useful/enjoyable options. The cabin was well appointed from the kitchen to the bathroom. There is a small stream that flows around the property. From the other side of the creek a short walk up the hill yields the Mickelson Trail which from below is very well hidden. The TV offers YouTube TV (locals+networks), Netflix(your id), etc.
SUMMARY:
There are no downsides to this rental IMO. A great place to relax and feel at home.
