This cabin was perfect for a quick weekend in the hills with family. Quiet area and close to many attractions. The best pet was the front porch wear we enjoyed morning coffee.
8.0
Overall, we enjoyed the cabin and our stay. Our only complaints would be the traffic noise when sitting outside, but this was a minimal distraction. The larger complaint would be the amount of flies and moths that somehow were able to enter the cabin. One bedroom probably had 20-30 dead flies on the floor by the end of our stay. Moths were a lesser issue but I believe one of them crawled into the fire detector in the middle of the night and set it off, but I could be wrong about this and it went off for another unknown reason. Other than these issues, the cabin worked well for our family trip with 2 adults and 2 children.

It was a very cute clean cabin! We will be staying again! Close to everything, but not right in town just like I like it!

Great place to stay! Easy to get to all the places we wanted to see!! Would totally recommend!

This cabin is so centrally located to Mt Rushmore, Custer, Badlands etc. 3 or 4 could be so comfortable in this cabin.
So serene & nice.

The cabin was a perfect resting spot for our family of 4. The location and setting were very ideal. It was right off the highway, but felt secluded. The decor and furnishings in the cabin were tastefully done, and the cabin felt very cozy. The cabin was impeccably clean. This is definitely one of my favorite VRBO rentals!

great location for seeing everything in the black hills

Such a terrific cabin! Lots has been said in other reviews, and I echo all of that. One great feature is the Mickelson Trail that runs just behind the property. A great walking option while the teenagers sleep in. We had a great time!

The cabin is clean and comfortable, and the location just can't be beat. The cabin is very close to Mt Rushmore (about 20 mins), Crazy Horse (5 mins), Custer State Park (about 20 mins), Wind Cave (about 30 mins), and less than 2 hrs from the Badlands. The cabin is an excellent base to explore the beautiful Black Hills and Sheralin is super attentive in her communications. We will come back.

The property is perfectly situated within minutes of Mt. Rushmore Monument and Crazy Horse Memorial. Outdoor space for downtime and a small hike provides access to the Mickelson Trail system.

It was very easy to rent and we really enjoyed our stay here and hope to do it again!!!!

Our family took a spring break trip to the Black Hills and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tenderfoot Creek Cabin. The cabin is clean, well-equipped and beautifully decorated. Situated right between Custer and Hill City, it was the perfect place to call home after a day of sight-seeing or hiking.

This is a great cabin for a small family. The location made it easy to see all the local sites and have a comfortable place to come back to nightly. The cabin was clean and stocked with everything we needed. The owner was great to work with as well. We enjoyed our stay here!

The cabin is beautiful, clean, and extremely comfortable. Communication with Kathleen is easy and pleasant. The cabin is convinently located for hiking at Custer State Park and visiting Crazy Horse and Rushmore. We very much enjoyed our stay. The only caveat is that the cabin is close to the highway and cars are heard all the time. If you're looking for a hideaway in the woods, this isn't quite it.

Very cute log cabin, stayed there with my husband and 2 college kids, 20 and 19. Son slept on pull out bed in family room., which he said was comfortable. The cabin appears from the photo pretty isolated but it is right off a short gravel driveway from main highway with a few houses, traffic noise is minor as you are in a valley but also neighbors have an “antique shop” set up in yard right next store, there is a fence to block view. However the Black Hills encompasses a large area and this cabin is in a great location to visit Wind Cave, Custer, Hill City and Keystone. Kitchen is set up with many cooking supplies and we did grill one night, deer did go by the cabin twice. Yard was fairly buggy this time of year, so did not sit outside. Cabin was clean, but could use some more linens, there was a shortage of pillow cases. But tons of quilts! Ceiling fans worked well! Need a dimmer or lower wattage on kitchen light. And oven mitts in kitchen need to be replaced. No salt, pepper, sugar, etc, they state per COVID, but don’t see much difference in a salt shaker versus dishes that I’m touching., I left S&P there. Washer and dryer were great, as we went horseback riding and hiking and got very dusty! Everything in cabin worked!

The cabin was very clean. It was stocked with everything you would need other than food. The large porch was a great place to start the morning with a cup of coffee and to watch the deer graze in the evening. The owner provided a detailed book about the property and surrounding places of interest that was helpful. The cabin is located perfectly in the Black Hills. It was a short drive to any and all of the major sites in the area. It's location gave us the ability to see a lot in a short amount of time. My family and I would definitely stay at this cabin again!

We loved our stay, only wished we could stay longer than our scheduled allowed and we would absolutely return if the opportunity arises.

Wonderful property includes roaming deer in the yard morning and evening. Proximity to many historical sites. The home was furnished so nicely and very comfortable. Would stay again if in the area.

Pictures are deceiving if you are looking for a quiet cabin in the woods this is not it.Cabin inside is very nice location is poor in a hole along the interstate.driveway is horrible people driving by can look into cabin a lot of road noise. Will not stay again.

The cabin was well maintained. Had pretty much everything you need to cook meals. Great location to visit Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park and other fun attractions.
4.0
Nice cabin, check in was easy. Owner was kind and made check in a breeze. I wish there was a fire pit or patio to sit out under the stars. The only noise was the highway, other wise a quiet grouping of home. The cabin was clean and had everything you would need, but the bathroom sink didn't drain well.

Beautiful retreat cabin with large amount of wild life. Perfect for a family.

Very comfortable with everything one would need. Close to highway though, but you can't hear it inside the cabin.
4.0
Cabin was clean, comfortable, well stocked and beautiful. The only negative thing, is that it is located literally right off hiway 385. The driveway is steep so you do not see the cars but you definitely hear the traffic.
4.0
It’s a very nice cabin, that is well furnished, comfortable, and very convenient to the southern Black Hills. Although it is only 2 bedrooms, it worked very well for my family of 6. The cabin is very close to route 385 so it a bit noisy with road noise during the day, but much quieter at night. Although it is a very nice setting, the pictures that make it look like it is off by itself with lots of room around it are a bit deceiving. There is a barn and another house fairly close to the house. Neither impacted our stay as we enjoyed our stay very much.

Great location between Hill City and Custer. Close Mt Rushmore, Lake Sylvan, and both communities. We lover coming back each night and having S’mores by the fire. Lovely place

We so enjoyed this adorable, clean and well appointed home. It’s a wonderful place to call home for a few days. Close to Custer, Crazy Horse and Rushmore. This charming cabin also sits right on an easy walking trail. We highly recommend.

We absolutely loved our stay in this cozy cabin that sits in a gorgeous setting of tall trees and green grass. A herd of deer came to dance in the early evenings. While situated near a well-traveled road, which is convenient, we heard no traffic noise inside the house. Finding this place was the perfect introduction to our first visit to South Dakota, and we'll be back. We had no problems of any kind. Highly recommend it.

This cabin is in the perfect location I highly recommend it to everyone!

My family of four truly enjoyed this cabin; the propane fire pit, deer in the yard, and just sitting on the porch were some of our favorites in regards to the property itself. The cabin looks like a log cabin but has the amenities of modern day such as wifi, TVs, as well as a dishwasher and laundry machines.

Cabin was a perfect home base for a fun-filled weekend in South Dakota with family. All of the comforts of home and the ability to cook meals (would have been nice to have basics like salt and pepper in the kitchen) was just what we were looking for. Nice central location to all the nearby sites. Kids loved roasting marshmallows in the fire pit and exploring the Mickelson Trail. Thanks for sharing your beautiful log cabin with us.

My family of 5 stayed at Tenderfoot Creek Cabin and we were extremely impressed with the cleanliness, amenities available, location to all the attractions in the area and the communication with owners. The cabin was exactly as described, actually even better that we anticipated and we enjoyed coming "home" every night to relax and rest in the comfy beds. We all agreed this was the best rental we have ever stayed in over the years!
5.0
The Tenderfoot Creek cabin rental was over the top clean, had EVERYTHING that you could ever need while on vacation and was perfectly located to all the area attractions. We were able to watch white-tailed deer in the meadow every evening from the front porch. This cabin was beautifully decorated and truly had all the comforts of home.

My husband and I are on a two week road trip. This cabin was perfect for our days in the Black Hills. Conveniently located to Custer, Wind cave, Mt Rushmore and crazy horse. Ten minutes from grocery. The cabin itself was amazing. Clean, bed was comfy and the washer and dryer came in handy.. We grilled out one night and had everything we needed and more. Wished we would have had time to stay longer.

Perfect size for our group of 4. We loved the location between Custer and Hill City. Very clean, easy check-in and out.
