2x chairs had crumbs on them and bed had hair in it. I requested a change of room which they couldn’t do but they did get someone (a manager) to change the sheets.

Hotel was lovely only downside was we had a email saying we could not book a table in the restaurant due to party’s. So we ate out. Then during our stay received another email saying we could eat in but with limited availability. The toilet hadn’t been cleaned throughly. The mirror had dust on top and beside the bed was dusty. We payed extra for the superior room but found it could have been better. Overall the stay was pleasant. Breakfast was amazing.

Lovely hotel, really clean, nice luxury complimentary shower gel, handwash etc.towels were big and fluffy, nice to have the bar/restaurant separate from the hotel. Maybe a request to have a flannel in the bathroom, but not essential

Standard hotel, used a lot by contractors by the looks of it. Room was clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Will stay here again when I’m in the area

I have been staying in this hotel fairly regularly for some time now, and always received a good level of service. However, just recently have received what I would describe as exceptional service, and therefore wanted to say a big thank you to Tuesday in the restaurant, who went out of her way to say hi and made me feel even more welcome than usual. Also thank you to the reception team, in particular Tanya & Rose who were really friendly and welcoming at check in and check out!

Really lovely hotel ! Lots of parking , room was small but very clean and modern - staff were pleasant and room service menu was extensive- food was very good. Only downside no bottles of water in the room even though they had tea/coffee making facilities. Also my room had 3 steps going upto to the bedroom area - fine for me but some people wouldn’t want this . Would 100% stay here again !

The walls are paper thin, hardly slept at all. The hotel doesn't have ear plugs to purchase. They do have most other things to buy.

As a regular visitor to the Devon Hotel, I have always found the staff helpful and friendly and nothing is ever a problem. The rooms themselves are clean, relatively modern and benefit from all the usual mod cons such as air conditioning, Sky TV etc. The hotel is quirky (not a bad thing) as the layout has many steps, sometimes these are even in the room, I feel like this adds character to the place. The fitness suite is adequate for most with some modern equipment. Carriages restaurant (connected to the hotel) serves a selection of great quality food and drink at reasonable prices, and there is usually something going on to give the place some atmosphere, also offers both Sky Sports and BT Sports for those wanting to catch their football team in action. I would have to really search for "negatives", but if I had to, It's a bit of a faff having to remember to ask for an iron and ironing board at reception as these are not in the room as standard, a complimentary bottle of water in the fridge wouldn't go a miss and there are currently some pretty major roadworks going on outside the hotel. Nonetheless, I would always choose the Devon Hotel over all other hotels in the Exeter area as it is great value for money and almost feels like a second home.

Going to the room and take the shower at 17:00 then found it’s empty soap and shampoo. I called receptionist, he told this out of time for house keeper waiting for tomorrow morning for refill them.

Fantastic hotel, lovely room and great restaurant for dinner and breakfast. Only one slightly bizarre thing is that I wasn’t given a toilet roll! Asked at reception and was no issue but then housekeeping still didn’t replace a couple of days later! Not an issue necessarily but never experienced this before in all the hotels I’ve stayed in! Other than that superb!

We were made to feel very welcome on arrival. All the Staff were friendly and helpful. Lovely atmosphere we had a lovely evening celebrating our anniversary. The food and service was delicious.

The reception staff were very helpful on arrival. The headboard was worn and little pieces of the brown pvc covering was flaking off onto the sheets. Also there were a few tiny flies in the room/bathroom. But the bed although small was very comfortable.
