About this house rental
Escape to our peaceful island retreat. Relax on the deck while enjoying a wonderful water view, or curl up in front of our gas fireplace! Explore the wonders of the island – walking along the beach, biking the picturesque roads or hiking the many wonderful trails. Enjoy the healing energy of island life.
PLEASE NOTE FOR 2024: Annual Dry Dock is May 18th - June 15th
Every year our ferry, the Whatcom Chief, goes into dry dock for maintenance at a shipyard. Since there is no substitute vehicle ferry, this means foot passenger service only (you can bring a bike across). There is a shuttle service provided on the island. This is a wonderful time for biking and walking with the vehicle traffic being very low during this time. For passenger boat schedule and more details, please go on-line to Whatcom County Annual Dry Dock.
The house is entirely yours! Our home is great for couples, but also very family friendly. There are two bedrooms with queen beds, a full sofa bed in the living room, and there is also a twin futon in the lounge/office room and a twin foam mattress for the floor that would be great for kids. We also have a Pack ‘n Play (with sheets) and a high chair for little ones.
We have a large deck with water view which includes a gas grill! Our kitchen is fully equipped (we’ve tried to think of everything you would need) with a comfortable dining room.
There is a washer and dryer for you to use, along with laundry detergent.
Accessibility: the house is one-story & wheelchair accessible. We also have a walk-in shower and hand rail at the toilet.
High speed internet is available. We have a Smart TV with streaming channels available for you to log into. There is also a DVD player and DVDs in the TV cabinet for you to enjoy.
Safety features include fire extinguisher, smoke alarm/carbon
monoxide detectors, first aid kit. The house also has a generator that will run the whole house in case the power goes out, which does happen quite a bit, but more in the winter months of course!
We want to let our guests know that we are taking proper precautions with COVID-19 cleaning protocols. Our cleaning staff are well versed in sanitizing techniques and safe practices at our cottage rental.
Please note:
There is no gasoline available on the island, so think about filling up before you arrive. There is a gas station/mini mart at Gooseberry Point near the mainland ferry landing.
Guest have access to the entire house, lawn and apple orchard.
Our house manager Ashley lives on the island and can be reached by text, phone or email. We recommend using text for the quickest response. Ashley is available if you have any questions or concerns. She has lived on the island all her life and has lots of knowledge about the island amenities & activities!
