This is my favorite rustic hostel in the Rockies. There are no showers but the outdoor sauna is perfect.

For me it was okay. Since its just for a night and brief stay we couldn't appreciate it that much but i will say, it was a good place to relax and interact with other guest. But in our end, because we are group of women and got there already late and have to leave so early, we couldn't get comfortable. But i will still recommend this place to other traveller who loves adventure and different experience.
Have to update their location on google. Not advisable to go there late at night because there was no clear signage to get to the exact location. We got lost 😔

Located just by the side of the creek, with the view of mountain top, this hostel gives a feel closer to camping.
Showers would have been a great addition to the amenities.

HI Mosquito Creek Hostel has a really good location and it connects you with nature! Do not expect much, Wi-fi runs on request. You have more time to think about life. A good place to stay.

Oh wow! It was the first time that we tried one of the hostels located in the Icefield Parkway. What a great experience! It is a bit rustic but it was way better than camping!!! We stayed in the 10-bed dormitory. The bunks are a bit short but they are comfortable and clean linens/blankets are provided. The heater works really well and kept us toasty. The other guests in our dorm were very considerate - we slept really well. The out-house was clean, spacious and not smelly! The big kitchen was very well equipped with lots of space for everyone. There is a large common area with a wood stove and many couches. It was a great place for socializing with other travelers. It was mostly older adults like us at the hostel during our visit. We had a great time with everybody! And, the innkeeper Richard is a very nice man who can provide great information about the lodge and the park. We hope to get the opportunity to visit again!
It's a very minor point but it would have been nice to be able to check in earlier than 5:00 pm. We understand that the innkeeper needs personal time during the day but, we were done from our hike to Bow Glacier by 3:00 pm and tired, just looking to relax for the rest of the day. We ended up driving 40-min round trip to Lake Louise to fill the time.

We loved our stay at Mosquito Creek Hostel, we had the place to ourselves due to low traffic in the winter. The caretaker was friendly, he made sure we were comfortable and knew our way around. As an avid skier, he was happy to share his suggestions about ski touring in the area which was greatly appreciated. He kindly turned on the wifi for a short period which allowed us to quickly check important emails, but otherwise we enjoyed switching off and immersing in the Rockies serenity. Don’t forget to check out the sauna, it’s the perfect way to unwind after a big day on the slopes ⛷️
The common area remained very cold despite working hard to keep the fire going, but otherwise the rooms and kitchen have central heating and were nice and toasty inside.

not much….
we did not spend the night there, and there were no possibilities to be refunded. Also, it must be known that there is no electricity, no wifi, no hot water, toilet are outside the dorms. You should bring your own lights and food, it is in the middle of nowhere so there is no service at least 20minutes before arriving there, and on the camp.
we did not expect it to be so extreme and much like camping.

We have been stayed at this place two times before. The place is now exceptionally well maintained. To our surprise, it also provides room lighting with solar energy.

That Lars who was in charge of check-in waited until I arrived which was around 9pm. He was very helpful in many ways. But most importantly was the fact that I was super low on gas and I didn’t think I had enough to make it to Lake Louise. He helped make sure I did. Very kind gentleman.

Friendly staff. Room is clean. I like that the room is next to a creek. Also a perfect place for star gazing. I'm okay with not being able to shower for a day or two. It was a great experience to try out a wilderness hostel.

I was so happy to stay two nights at this wilderness hostel, the only one with a heated sauna in the Rockies. The dorms are secluded. There is a large lounge area and kitchen area and a big fire pit outside. You can take a dip in the cold creek and sit by it to read a book. There is a trail right across the bridge to Molar Pass, 21 to 23 km. You park by the road or in the parking lot. You can shower at the HI Lake Louise 27 km away if you need to.

Clean facility in an excellent location. Friendly staff, excellent atmosphere.
The room with the fireplace was not warm. Even if you were on the couch right next to the fireplace that room was very cold. They need to invest in a better fire place or a propane heater for that main living area to make it useable in the winter.
