Staff were friendly and location convenient
Another tired, out-dated hotel that was due total renovation 15 years ago. Breakfast was poor - and not enough seating, so many were eating standing up or in chairs in the lobby
4.0
Breakfast was very good. Have had it before, so knew what to expect and not disappointed. Very busy on a Sunday morning and the staff did a good job of replenishing everything.
More light in the rooms. Bathroom/dressing area right by entrance of room. Could be very embarrassing!
3.5
Staff were amazingly friendly.
Breakfast was minimal.

It is safe and comfortable, pleasant rooms and common spaces. Good for large families with small children - there kid suite has king bed and four bunk beds in alcove equipped with game station and games :)
The swimming pool was small and looked murky, no place to change, we did not use it.

Everything really.
Nothing. It was perfect for us.

very clean!
I got a handicap room and I was not told before getting into my room.

Every staff member I met was friendly, helpful and professional. It's an older hotel being updated. I found the entire place warm and welcoming. The rooms are large, and anyone with kids will love the king suites with the built-in fort with bunk beds and a ps3. The bed was 9/10 by hotel standards, and the linen was fresh and clean.

Gute Lage, freundliche Mitarbeiter, sehr saubere Unterkunft
Zimmer waren etwas abgewohnt und hellhörig

The room was clean and decent size. The staff were very nice and helpful. The cinnamon rolls were kept warm and they even provided containers to take them with you.
For a Holiday Inn Express I was surprised that it wasn’t nicer. The furniture was kind of beaten up. The breakfast was so so. The cheese omelettes were extremely brown and the consistency of rubber.

Musty smell on pillows

Rooms were spacious and clean. Staff was super friendly. Breakfast was awesome and not your typical continental spread.

I loved the free breakfast. They had a lot of options. The location to restaurants and to Mesa Verde National Park was great. Just a short drive down the road to get to the National Park. Clean rooms and friendly staff.

Location and Beds we’re comfortable.
The bathroom was gross and had hair all over and black stuff in the bath tub.

Breakfast was great. Location was good as we finished up our visit to Mesa Verde park.

We really enjoyed our stay here.
The staff was friendly, our rooms were very big and clean, the pool area was great and included a jacuzzi.
Plenty of parking available and a good breakfast as well.
Nothing to complain about here

it was well located
their system were all broken and we were assured of a room with a roll-in shower, which they didn’t have available. so they moved us to another brand hotel owned by the same person. they were able to offer a discount which was helpful. the other place wasn’t that clean.

pool open all night and there was a snack store!

Breakfast was very good, with lots of options. The room felt clean and so did the bathroom. We wanted a place to land after a long day at Mesa Verde. Cortez was close enough even for Denver-bound people like us. Don't think they can always provide this, but both the sunset and the sunrise were spectacular.
There was an eye-watering concentration of chlorine (from the swimming pool, I think) in the ground-floor men's bathroom. I didn't use the pool. I don't know if it was more or less detectable in the water.

THERE WASN'T A GYM

The Place is clean and conveniently located. Their breakfast is top of the line. Choices for everyone and plenty of it!
Staff was helpful at breakfast and friendly.
The reservation when calling hotel direct was denied due to being a "local". I had my granddaughter and her baby visiting from out of town. I called directly to the hotel to book a room. Clerk told me they had a room and early check in was available. After I gave my local PO Box clerk says hold on came back said nothing is available. What you just said you had a room no problem. Again hold please. Clerk came back told me "WE DON'T RENT TO LOCALS"! I then booked online, got a room paid for it and went to the motel. As soon as I told them my name they became frantic with their policy of not renting to locals! I gave them my OUT OF STATE ID and said okay this says I'm not local and the room is for my granddaughter and she also has an out of state ID. AND I'VE ALREADY PAID FOR IT. I do not understand what this no LOCAL renters policy is all about. I find it to be very messed up when you need a room for various reasons. It wasn't peak time of year and only 1 night. Is this some type of discrimination? Since when is a local not welcome to stay at a local Holiday Inn?

Great location to stay when visiting Mesa Verde National Park & Canyon of the Ancients, those parks are only 10 minutes away. Restaurant across the parking lot, gas station close by. Breakfast was ok and the kids enjoyed the pool and hot-tub.
Hotel could do with a bit of an update. The window in our bedroom didn't close properly, but we were in the back of the hotel and didn't have any outdoor noise issues. The breakfast area is rather small and I can imagine it getting really crowded during peak season.

I would definitely stay here again. This will be my go-to hotel for Cortez. The hotel was nice, location of shopping and restaurants was good. The beds were comfy and the breakfast was very good. The hotel was in good shape and had clean and nice decor. The pool and jacuzzi were functioning, I saw many happy people in there.
The shower pressure and water temperature were phenomenal! I mean the kind of spray that makes you soo relaxed. This was my first stay at a Holiday Inn and they had DOVE products! I don't know if they all do but man those were NICE! Overall I really enjoyed the stay. The didn't likes were small, but I did include them for transparency.
Front desk was friendly and fun.
The room did have an odor to it, not truly bad, just that odor you get from hotels where your room is above the pool, as was our room. There were several places on the floor of our room that had sinkholes - those places where it feels like the floorboards are slightly broken.
I agree with other posters: the Front of the Hotel could use a spotlight or something because it looks more like it is a bank front. Parking was also a little confusing, we parked in the big lot next to the hotel, but didn't really know if it was their lot, a joint lot, or if we had parked in the next business's lot without permission. Nothing happened so I guess were were good, there is quite a climb from that parking lot to the hotel entrance. FYI

Excellent breakfast included in the tariff, and the steakhopuse was a great opton for dinner.
It was all good.
