Left too early for breakfast, (5am) but if breakfast was as nice as the facility I'm sure it would have been good.
I chose this location because it was so close to my son's home. I wish I'd have known about the road to the motel being closed. Long detour to get to the motel from his house.

The hotel was very clean and the staff was friendly
I paid for a suite but the bed was too far over so the door to the suite wouldn’t close which kind of defeated the purpose of me spending extra money for a bedroom. That was a huge let down bc it was basically why I picked the property.

What a great stay. The building has recently been renovated and they did a great job From the color combination to the signage it was exceptional. The room color was restful, the breakfast and the staff were wonderful. Everyone had a smile and were eager to help. We ended up staying an extra night and the process was flawless. It meant a lot to us as we both needed that kind of atmosphere. Thank you for making our visit so pleasant. We will be back.
I tried to think about that when we were there and could not come up with an answer. I still can’t think of anything.

The room was recently remodeled.
They are still remodeling, so there was no amenities. No ice machines, no vending machines, no pool and no breakfast. Booking.com messed up and our original booking and it was cancelled, we were told one hour before check in. This was booking.com's suggestion. No mention about remodel going on. We spent so much more money since our original booking had a full kitchen. All of our food was wasted. We tried very hard not to let it wreck our weekend, but it still upsets me.

All the construction. Bathroom plug didn't work. Side door key fob didn't work so we had to walk around the whole hotel to get to our room at the end

nothing it was very dirty and the staff were very rude our tv didn’t work the whole time we were there we booked though a 3rd party so we were unaware of the pool and half the hotel being under construction and they refused to refund us

NOTHING
The building was a construction site--exterior and interior. You could barely find an entrance. The desk clerk was not friendly or helpful. He lied and said my card had not cleared when the payment had cleared a week earlier. He was going to bill me again. I walked out.

Room was a good size. Close to City of Hope cancer center
The place was under renovation, mattresses in the hall, no breakfast, which was mentioned in website. I’m sure once it’s done it will be fine, but they really weren’t ready for guests.

The room was clean.
The staff was unprofessional. The elevator was out of service. This was not posted on the website. I would have never made reservations here. I just had knee surgery. They gave our room number out loud. That is a huge security breach. There was no continental breakfast. There was nothing on the website stating that the first floor was closed due to remodeling. Not happy is an understatement.

i liked the pillows
advertised “HEATED” pool and hot tub. I paid more to stay there vs another place because of this. they were going through renovations- I understand but would of been nice to know. the hot tub was closed!! fine. but the pool was literally ice cold!! now I know why all the ice machines on all 3 floors didn’t have ice-it’s in the pool. so disappointed. plus, it was not cleaned!! I’d there was a skimmer I would of skimmed the pool. hair and dust particles and stuff floating you wouldn’t want to swim IF you could tolerate the ice cold temperature.
no ice- as stated
the breakfast was not much- my sister actually walked somewhere nearby to get food (she stayed behind while we went to an event for the morning).
the sheet had a stain-it wasn’t super creepy and old but you could tell an update was definitely needed
I stayed because of the hotel name-supper disappointed

I liked the location. It was close to everything!
I checked out early due to bed bugs crawling across the pillow when I had just checked into the hotel. The other room they gave us for the night smelled like mildew, and had dirty towels hanging in the bathroom as if they were clean. I was totally disgusted, inconvenienced, and was terrified to go to sleep. We slept in our clothes that night, and covered up with our coats. The sheets were soiled underneath the comforter!

Terrible experience the cleaners woke us up at 9 banging on stuff constantly really loud and there were dogs barking. Very thin walls don't go if you value sleeping
5.0 / 10.0
We liked the location, quiet area, close to beach and nature access. It was inexpensive.
The hotel was very quiet during our stay, and parking available close to the building.
The bed was comfortable.
Hot water worked (although backwards on the bathroom faucet) and decent water pressure in shower. I liked that they wash the shower curtain and leave a fresh one.
Flickering and burned out lights outside. Heavily stained carpets, the side entrance and stairwell to our end of the building was filthy, and someone (staff?) had been smoking marajuana in it at one point. Our room's carpet had debris all over just inside the entrance, hadn't been vacuumed. The comforter sandwiched between two sheets as duvet cover was worn full of holes and had blood on it.
Towels were pretty worn and thin, and we could have used more of them. Light bulb burned out.
The breakfast offered less than other Country Inn and Suites I've stayed at.

The fireplace in the lobby
staff was incredible rude, and the room was extremely filthy. poop on the wall and the windows were broke and all of the surfaces were disgusting. I had to go to the store and buy cleaning products! pool was disgusting but it was closed anyway.

The hotel amenities were not good
3.0 / 10.0
From the outside it looked very nice. Breakfast was nice with scrambled eggs, sausage, links, waffle, maker, cereal, etc.
It was literally disgusting. Completely outdated and old/torn/stained/burned furniture and I was not comfortable without shoes in the room because of all the carpeting stains. Every time we left the room we had to slam the door multiple times to make sure it latched shut. The desk was covered in suspicious, dried fluid and there were still hairs in the shower. Clearly these rooms don’t get cleaned very thoroughly or even vacuumed based on the little pieces of litter around the room!!!! they require a $75 “damage deposit” which is laughable considering even the nasty smoke-stained phone on the side table clearly has not been updated in 30 years and the chair was full of burns. There was never anyone at the desk, and when we went to check out, they were nowhere to be found and just had a bucket on the counter to drop off your keys. Coming outside, the employees/owners or whoever were hanging out in their vehicles…? Oh, and the ceiling was covered in mold stains. We checked in late or we would have demanded a new room... we’ll never be back.
